Ebay just does that so you don't feel bad and a good marketing way for them to get an item sold on their website so you don't go to another like amazon etc
This video needs to be linked in the title of every ebay auction with a timestamp of 1:48, because there are SO MANY PEOPLE who bid $250 on a gtx 1080 with a current bid of $7. I do not care who you are or where you come from, but if you do this you deserve nothing less than getting gutted like a fish.
I bid on what I want. I'm not interested in wasting days watching an auction. My time is too valuable to waste it searching the free sections all day. ;) Still trying to save a dollar a year later looking for the best deal when you coulda been over it by now
I do this on items I really want to win. A huge opening bid discourages other bidders from getting a top bid themselves because they'll bid 20, 50, 80, 100... and give up. If they get top bid at 50, they're in the hunt and emotionally invested in winning.
I WON ! I WON ! I WON ! I won my bid on Ebay! I followed your advise and clicked towards the last 3 seconds of the auction and BAM ! I beat all 14 bidders ! Thank you so much ! You are the BEST !👏👏👏👏👏👏
I’m in a bid right now with 40 minutes left and I’m really anxious that I won’t win because I have just enough money for it and it’s hard to find the thing I’m bidding for at a low price
@@Squid0naChair Decent! At least you got your other bid... I just submitted my first bid ever last night. I think i'm starting to see why this is addictive lol.
All you have to do is bid $1,000,000 in the last several seconds, the Ebay automatic bidding system will automatically make adjustments so you will only pay about 1 dollar above the last highest bid. You will certainly win this way.
@@itsDjjayyArt Yes because Ebay always automatically adjusts your bid down to where it beats the next highest bid to yours by about 1 dollar. any outrageous bid amount will work i do it all the time especially if you want the item real bad you will win.
I've been using this method for the last five years and I win 99% of the time. When I see an action that has 30 bids but only 8 bidders and still about 3 or more days left. I think like "really?", people don't know how to bid, smh
So many people need to watch this. Nothing that pisses me off more than people placing a high price bid a whole week before the auction ends even though the starting price was insanely low. Causing everyone involved to miss out I’m potential savings and ruining the auction. Happened to me when i was in a bid for a Vega 64 .🤦🏽♂️ if you’re what i like to call a “premature ejaculation bidder” please do everyone a favor and never ever join an auction ever again.
People do this all the time to win bids. The reason you lose bids last minute is because people have a max bid already set and it will automatically beat yours no matter how last minute you are.
Exactly...sometimes i give people too much credit and think they have a Max Bid already set. So i bid 30 seconds before it ends to find and beat their Max Bid, then after i beat it, I set my Max Bid right away. But then sometimes they don't have a Max Bid and I Bid too early trying to find it for nothing. I don't know what to do anymore lol. What do you do?
The problem is that the amount you see there is sometimes not real and might be actually higher. If someone has set up automatic bidding and you don´t know his budget he could overcome you. And in such short time you will have not more time to put another bid
@@chozen_juan EVERY snipe is technically an auto bid if you're doing it correctly. The highest bidder will always win but the point of sniping isn't to be willing to pay the most it's to eliminate the opportunity for a counter bid.
I think ebay has got an automatic biding option as well. Meaning, someone can place a bid, and also place a maximum bid. This means every time you get outbid and the amount is bellow your maximum bid, ebay will automatically place a bid £5 or $5 above the amount you have been outbid by. Until and if your maximum bid is outbid. So if you wait until 4 seconds or 2.5 seconds and the amount you bid is bellow the other person's maximum bid, then ebay will automatically outbid you, by £5 or $5 and it will be too late for you to put another bid.
Yes but only if you have stupid amount budget say joe smo wanted to just go max bid 50 dollars more than the bud amount and you wanted to spend barley anything. Then this eBay auto bud just made you pay 5 dollars more than this rich guy now you won and over your limit. So pro and cons pro if you got the money and is ready for anything on max bud lol
So if I place a max bid wayy higher than it should be. The person who tries to snipe it last second will loose anyway because my max bid will automatically bid and overtake them
If bid is like $5 and I really want it no matter what but also within budget I wait till the 10 sec Mark and hit a hard $40 bid, so by the time they increase the bid like 3-5 times cause of loading of outbid refresh, You'll end up winning it at like $10-15 dollars. If y'all know what I mean. I'm 205-0 believe me
@@8DarthGhost8 Yeah but that's rare, it depends on how much there bidding at a time from the 1 min mark, use ur better judgement on how much u would slam within 5-10 seconds from bid ending. If it's still $25 keep reloading every 5 seconds from a minute and see the pace there bidding, then bid at an amount 3x what they are bidding and shoot towards the 5-10 second end. It's like your watching there sceme, and if there's no activity they are probably waiting to bid like a dollar within seconds, but you hit with like $40 you'll stay safe and win it all at $26.
Miguel Barrientos So basically lets say an item is $25.. Even if you bid 1 million dollars, you only pay what the person bid below you? Lets say 2nd place was a bid of $35. You would only pay like roughly $35 for the item even if you put in $1,000,000?
best way to do it is have your bid set up so only have to click yes as take a second or 2 from clicking place bit open another web page so you can see timer and have other on the price you want and ok place bid set up so you can see timer on other web page so as as soon as 3 seconds hit place bid so it better as cant see timer when you put bid on.
did this trick on my first Ebay auction and I won. 70 dollars was the initial, then 1 person bid at that price, then I waited to bid at the 5 second mark and even had a back up second tab just in case. I bid at 120 figuring it would go up since 5 were watching, then won getting it for 71. woohoo for me!
Idk wtf happened, I bid in the last 10 seconds and I was the highest bidder to the end where it said it ended and 0s remained. But then it would turn to 2 min remaining, so I refreshed it and then it said ended again and that I was the highest bidder. And some mf still managed to beat me somehow when it said ended. Is this some sort fucking scam?
I know I'm late on this video but there is this collectible that I haven't been able to find for a year and when I retracted my bid 2 people did as well. I shouldn't have bid before the last day because I really don't wanna spend over 500😭
For the last week I've been looking at pocket watches from this one guy and I've been bidding when there's 2 seconds left until it ends and somehow someone always outbids me by like 50 cents which doesn't make sense because I bid for more than a few dollars higher so it's not like they can press the increase button and get 50 cents higher in less than a second
OMG this video is so helpful and I will try this on my first ever bid on something I really want, fingers crossed! Right now the max bid is low for what it is, but I guess other people are planning on sniping it at the last min as well.. and could you do a video on whether or not to auto bid please??
Evelyn Smith don’t auto bid. Any buddy can out bid you in no time. And increased the price of the item. If you really want the item put your highest bid 4 seconds to go. And hope you will win the item. Unless if the other person wants it so bad.
Best to bid at a price opposing bidders won't expect. If you end up getting the winning bid, you'll have the option to pay either using your card or through PayPal. Keep in mind that shipping costs are added unless it's free. Also look at how many people are watching the item you plan to bid on.
Seymore Butts agreed. Even though I will put my highest bid let’s say the item sells for 60$ based on sells history. I will put up to 45$. If the other person wants it I will make sure they pay for it. It’s just for my own satisfaction if I don’t get the item 😂
@@steveboone1498 Adding onto that, a neat strategy is to never enter an exact dollar amount, but rather 1 or 2 cents over it to increase your chances of uprooting thiers.
I would bid just once at the last seconds, and then the absolute maximum amount im ready to pay. Even if thats much higher than the actual bid...you still are going to pay just the price that comes up on top of the bidding, but maximum what you have entered.
Does EBay not have an auto extension if a bid is received in the last couple of minutes? Other auction sites will extend by 2mins if a bid is placed within the last 2 mins
Yea I made the mistake and got into a bidding war with someone. Didn’t jack up the price too badly but I’m not touching it til the last day . I never used eBay before so I had no idea how it worked. So hopefully the other bidder thinks I’m out and I can come in the last 10 seconds and bid and win .
I bid must of the time 1 second to go and maybe a lost 2 or 3 due to bad signal. But 98%of the time. I have scored great items. Also I have done it when it just 0 time left and I’ve won. This is the truth
@@hydreigon2709 You ALWAYS enter the max you're personally willing to spend. That way if you lose it's at a price you weren't willing to pay anyways and there's no regret. 99% of the time I snipe I pay far less than my max bid.
I found it funny how people get anxious , I guess they are beginners, but I've seen many people bid against themselves, 4-5 or 6 times before they figure out what's happening. The last 4 to 6 seconds is where the "old hands" showcase their moves, sometimes they are dazzling. A couple times I saw bidders place their bids with about 3 secs to spare and I was ready for them and snatched it with 1/2 a sec to spare, but my heart was beating a 100 miles an hour, I decided that I did not need the object at the price of a heart attack.
Rarely do I bid snip but I did tonight knowing most of bidders were likely distracted by 4th of July festivities.Won a new Ninja coffee cold brew retails at Walmart $199 got it for $66 plus shipping for $17 plus tax total $89.Bid last 10 seconds which I’ve always done home Wi-Fi is excellent so no worries.Beat out 12 other bidders.Been wanting one of these ninja cold brew makers for years but couldn’t justify the price even on the older model ninja brew stations preowned are still selling for $30 plus shipping for around $20.
If u have 2 second left are u able click and ebay will wait till u put your bid or u click and after 2 seconds if u didnt put your bid can u lose even if u where going bid the highest?
Some dude always outbidding me by a buck on these products from one seller. Is there some way people can see what your coming bid is without confirming? I'm literally doing when there's a second or two left or Maybe I'm just super unlucky
Use automatic bidding and put the absolute maximum you're willing to pay, you won't pay the full amount but you'll pay a small margin over whatever other bidders are willing to pay Let's say you auto bid at a $201 max Someone bids at $150, you'll pay something like $151 If that person auto bids at $250 they'll pay something like $202
@@jeffreyshow2666 nowadays you don't need one anymore, eBay does it for you Just bid the maximum you're willing to pay and eBay will try to make you just enough to outbid the others
Do have a channel or a video suggestion where I can see your point. I don't see eBay helping.. they instead want to extend the auction and in that extention make you waste your bid attemp. How to setit up on ebay.. like you said it's what kill like to know
There are different types auctions even in person. Ebay is a hybrid of a silent auction with a time limit and a regular auction but we all have the same timeframe to work with.
So I won a bid right, but this is weird..... prior to the win I had bid and someone outbid me within a second, that was weird right? So I wait and offer a 5 dollar higher bid when its 3 seconds left and the the item sold for what the last bid was which was 5 dollars cheaper. What the heck happened there? I was bidding on my phone too.
Someone placed an Auto Max Bid. So for Example...they Bid on something $5. They also set up an Auto Max Bid of $20 and can be away from their Computer. So when you bid over their $5 with $7, it automatically beats your $7 with $8 and so forth until you find out their Max is $20 and beat that. Thing he forgot to mention in this video is if you wait until last 4 seconds or 2.5 seconds, someone can have a Max Bid and you can still lose. So wait the last 4 seconds but be willing to jump $15 more than the bid just in case.
Your 'extensive knowledge' didn't work for me genius. I did as you suggested and LOST a bid w/4 seconds to go. Maybe you might mention that the timing is different when the seller is one time zone away...
HOMIE I JUST WON AN XBOX AT 31 BUCKS!!! At 2 seconds submitted, and dude, if any price you're gonna round to a five, bump it up by a dollar.... I finessed this other and I'm pretty sure he's pissed, I took a pic and I'm happy to send it to an email for anyone to see it, or you RGB goodness just so you know I'm not bull-ing. Like and sub. So stoked.
I’ve been pissed. Past 2 I wait till the last couple seconds and nope it was outbid in a split second. I saw the one guys comment and imma try that way next time
That's because someone put in a higher maximum bid than you. Their maximum bid doesnt show, the price just goes up in intervals until someone else bids against someone elses maximum bid.
all you have to do is bid 1 million dollars in the last minute and you will win. the automatic bidding system will lower the amount you pay to just 1 dollar above the last bidder's highest bid. works everytime.
I have watched this just few mins before the end of the auction, I followed your advice although I clicked on bid a bit earlier than you said (between 8 and 7 secs left) and I won increasing the highest bid by 5£ :) Thanks!
I tried to put in a bid in the last 4 seconds of an auction, and it wouldn't let me even put in the numbers!! I can't get ahold of anyone to find out why that was happening '
Thumbs down... You should have shown an "actual" bid... There is another screen that comes up and asks for confirmation. If someone bids at 2.5 seconds it may be too late. Show the full bid process of an actual bid.
Hey quick question: can the seller say no to an offer even if the time has run out. Okay say for example there is a card for sale and the value of that card is say $100 and people have only bidded $25 for that card and I come last second like you taught us here and bid $35. I mean that’s too low for the value of the card, so can the seller say no or does he have to sell it at that price?
