but here's the thing to bidding that way.. you may have been willing to only pay 20 or 30 for those shoes thats right now sitting at 25 but the other person's max bid is at 50 because they were willing to pay that much for them.. now with your 125 bid you win at 51 but paid 21 dollars over what you wanted to...

Yes, this would not work if you truly have a hard cap on what you're willing to spend. Even if $50 dollars is a super steal but you can only afford to do 30, this would not work. You would have to be a bit flexible with the price. Should have mentioned that.

@@CjcityTv Glad you answered this dude! I guess there's no way to know what number you gotta put with 6 seconds left. If the item is worth $100 and the current bid is $20, you have no idea what max bid number to put to win it, certainly you dont want to put $1000 because the current highest bidders max bid might be $250 and you screw yourself!

Just put the max as the absolute max that you are willing to spend on that item in the case that another bidder is close. Another tip is to add about .05 to .10 cents to your max bid Incase someone matches your max bid to the dollar.

please someone explains is this method is applicable with much higher amount let’s 5k to even 10k$?! The item am watching costs 20000$ and still won’t find it anywhere…anyhow the bid now is at 4K @ 92 bids ending in 48h Shall I use the 100 trick as n this vid or actually 1000 ?! am welling to pay up to 10k$ no issue😩

I think this strategy is a bit of a gamble so it really depends on how risk adverse you are. Also if you feel others will bid $100 max, maybe do $99 😂

Good advice. A lot of people are quite naïve when it comes to buying on ebay. Your first point was quite important. Only bid at the last possible moment. The only reason you would bid any earlier is if you are busy at time of listing ending. Otherwise you are just telling other people that you are interested, and that changes their buying tactics. Not sure I agree with your bidding $100 over the existing price/bid though! My tactic is to just bid what you'd be willing to pay for it. Its therefore 100% risk free.

Yeah, that 100 dollar method is only for those who want to win by any means. Sometimes you might find a rare fragrance, or the perfect watch that you can not lose out on. That method is only for those would want to win by any means and hate losing bids lol

Ive been applying this system on my own for since I started buying on ebay.. and it has worked for me. I have never lost on an item that i really want... It boils down to how bad I want something vs how bad the other person wants something and who who is willing to pay more... I strike hard and fast in the last few seconds. I don't give them time to marinate or responding on my bid in the last 2-3 seconds.

Heyooo I just won my first auction! Ebay does charge you *1 increment* more then the max bid, in my case, 3 dollars. Starting was 100, someone put 105, I put 135.76 and got it for 108! :D Cheers!

I really appreciate the recorded example showing you didn't actually have to spend the $100 over the bid. Good to know that strategy in case I see something I REALLY want pops up. It does bring up a funny hypothetical where you and just one other person end up doing the same thing and wind up overpaying waaay over that mark... maybe if I do $99 over the bid the other guy will get stuck with the $100 bill 😂

Sometimes new sellers that only have 2 items sold really DO NOT have much to sell, and are just new. You can get something at great price from them , because they just want to sell fast and not into competition game... Its a risk, but I got some rare cool perfumes from occasional sellers that just only had 2 perfumes to sell

What if the last bid before the auction ends was $10 and I bid for $110, and none of the other bidders set a max bid, would I get it for $11 since that was the last highest bid, or $110 since there was no max bid to beat?

@@dawnblush its not a trick its dumb you should only enter the most you want to pay. never just put a 100 dollar bid. say you got a tool that is only worth 25 dollars to you but you put the 100 or whatever and someone else wants the tool but they want to pay 90 then your bid will be 92 dollars. the only way this would work on items that dont get bids or many bids or will never go to that price but u can end up paying some good money for something that is not worth it. all you need to do it enter your max bid. then another thing you can do is use easy snipe. its a 2rd party ebay tool thru ebay that allows the easy snipe to bid for you the last 3 seconds of the auction. i have been selling on ebay for 20 years. a lot of people swear by it. i personally never have used it but i run auctions on ebay weekly and a lot of them. this method will get you in trouble or inevitably put you in a situation where you pay more or have to ask to cancel and that counts towards your status on ebay. if you cancelled two sales in a year my store will not be able to but from along with many others cause us sellers can set the standard to shop at our stores as well. i can put someone with more than X amount of cancels or non payments will be blocked,.

Then I checked three auctions: one was all private bidders which makes for easy shilling, one ended prematurely creating an extreme low outlier, another ended w/an over inflated price creating a false inflation of the mkt. You can't really do anything to fight this; it's up to ebay, and they would if they wanted to, but they don't. PVT BIDDING SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED.

Most definitely some good game for folks i have been doing that little bidding finesse for years now and is very successful the only gamble is if someone has an even higher bid than you do but I say I'm like 95% successful!!! And me personally I give some folks the benefit of the doubt with the low feedback numbers and take a chance depending on what im looking to purchase, I mean shit you gotta start somewhere if im looking for something I don't really care if I get burned on ill take a flyer on somebody if the pics look legit and they have good descriptions, and I do something like send em an email about the purchase and if I get a good feeling from their reply I'll go with it!!! But definitely some good game on this vid

yeah, thats a low risk though. i doubt anybody would really set a 100 dollar max bid. I have seen people do like $40 buck more so its definitely something you have to be flexible on. Its more so for those items you can not let slip through your fingers and have to win! I feel you on new people but sometimes its like a difference of $20 bucks. Im sure you could find someone better selling and it may just be a bump in price. I'd rather pay a bit more for my own peace of mind. If its a rare item or something limited then yeah, i may go with the seller even if he has low ratings and feedback. Cause it all depends. But glad you not one of the ones that think everything on ebay is fake. I be coming up on crazy steals.
