Generally confused why there isn't a "Build Main Battery" option but I'm guessing by the look of the craft that were out of the Battleship era and in the missiles and auto loading cannons

My favorite strategy which is super easy is by using the raptor cruiser with boosters to make insane shields that are crazy strong. For most times basically rapidly shield up, build one sam and one morter, build lazer cannon, and win. Only issue is if the enemy builds a naval factory right at the start, but you basically rush 1 ship turret then build one builder bay and shields.

Doesn't work on the mobile version, the raptor only has one heavy weapons slot, which isn't enough to reliably get through 2 shields.

To be fair, this is the only way to beat some levels on the hardest dificulty. I tried many things and strategies - lascannon (to clear front of ship) + bombers was closest I ever get, but only way to beat it, was this strategy. Basicly destroyer rush. It's the most efective strategy

What this game need patching is simply add a starting, tanky turret (or even an indestructible turret) to the ship so as to avoid early stacking. Any games of this type like SC2 Direct Strike, or even that grandfather of a Flash game where you upgrade civilizations, all have starting turrets specifically to prevent early damage.

I think the death star laser is the path to go... also, is there a limit on those? It looked like it would be possible to build two of those, so could you build the drone upgrade, then with them build a deathstar laser?

my preferred method is to, using the Trident, spam builders, but build only one, which brings enough builders to build a shield, then put another shield next to it, then place down more shields on top of the bridge, and the rear, then build either anti air turrets or anti ship turrets, depending on the playstyle of the enemy, finish building the other builder bays, then build two Lascannons. The game ends quickly from there.

This is very similar to an old flash game called black navy war, that was very similar to this, however better. including submarines, economy (of course) and many other things. I would recommend at least checking it out. Also it may be hard cause flash ded (R.I.P flash 2005-2020)

No, that AI ship is Longbow and its passive bonus is on aircraft. It doesn't have ship building bonus. AB rush and bomber rush only works on low difficulty (normal and below), for "Harder" (the most difficult setting) you need to lead the enemy's building sequence (such as starting but not finishing building an air factory to force them build SAM sites) in order to get the upper hand.

You could also just use the eagle then instantly build an economy so high the enemy can't build enough defenses before you laser them to death
