In this video we go over wiring a 12s series connection. I show two ways to do it and the way I find best.

Thank you! Yes! They are fantastic. I was very skeptical at first but I’ve been using them for quite a few months now and I have had no issues.

I really like those R/C Pro connectors, very easy to use, and near fool proof with the color coded fittings

I have never seen these connectors but wow, they look pretty awesome. Makes me want to cut off a lot of EC5s

They are amazing connectors! Little pricey but well worth it! Way better then EC5s and 7mm bullet compare to 5mm on the EC5.

Hello Jeff, I really like the fact no soldering is involved. How do you connect these batteries to your charger? When will you do a maiden of the SAB 500? 🧙‍♂👍
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 11 месяцев назад
Hey Robert! At first, I was very skeptical about them. How good could solderless connectors be? But I have been using them for a little while now on multiple different set ups, and they are fantastic! RAW 500 Maiden soon, was waiting on a Vbar areEVO to get here and back in stock and it showed up today!

And for charging, you would just make charge leads to match your battery leads.

Do you like that brand of batteries? I've never had that brand before I've only had pulse batteries and pulse does not offer that capacity as a 12 S. thanks love you videos.

Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoy the videos! Yes, I’ve really been liking battery’s lately. I can tell you, they will out a lot of others to shame…..including some of the most expensive ones. Really good price and I’ve pulled some insane amps out of them and they never skip a beat. Really low IR as well.

Hey Jeff, Have you figured out a way to take apart those little orange clips on the solderless connectors without breaking them.
@canadianrcpilot9048
@canadianrcpilot9048 11 месяцев назад
Use x-act knife blade - just press it between the split in the connector and give it a little twist - pops those clips off without breaking them .
@BinderDundat
@BinderDundat 11 месяцев назад
Okay thanks, I will give that a try. Last time I used a very thin flat blade driver and only managed to break the clip and put a hole in my finger. LOL@@canadianrcpilot9048
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 11 месяцев назад
Hello! Yes, very simple way to do. It is an X-Acto blade right at the two parts and push down slightly and twist the blade from the top. Careful not to break the blade or cut yourself and they will pop right apart with no damage and reusable.

Ok so my argument is - does RC ProPlus not suggest to just use one grub screw ? They do not supply you with enough grub screws to use two per connector - which has been my experience - thoughts ? Thanks
@MP422ownz
@MP422ownz 11 месяцев назад
You only need one. Two is worse then one.
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 11 месяцев назад
I have probably used five packs of these connectors and I have had two per connector on every pack. That is strange that you have only gotten one?
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 11 месяцев назад
They are designed for one set screw on each side. Not one!

Jeff, if I wanted to use two 6s packs couldn’t I skip the jumper, and y harness my ESC leads with two EC5s?
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 21 день назад
@@mtb4maine yes you could, I don’t do that because it looks cleaner doing the series at the battery and only having your two connectors at the ESC. But if you’re running EC-5 connectors then that will work.

When you screw in that shoulder piece keep your fingers out of the path of the hole where the screw comes through. The friction heats it up ALOT. I love these connectors. They are pricey compared to everything else BUT...they are a breeze to reuse. Getting the clamps off is a bit challenge but can be done. I'm one of those that also wonders one or two screws, I would need to go and count but I think they only provide enough set screws for one per connectors. You know when the set screws are seated far enough because the plastic cover will slide right over the metal plug and can rotate. I'll plug them in where they are supposed to go and take any twist out of the wires between the plugs than tighten the collars. This video will help all of you who never used these before because I have never found any instructions for them.

Do they make a native 12S pack? Of course you'd need a charger capable of it.
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 11 месяцев назад
Yes, they do! Called a True 12s pack. But there is only a few chargers that can do a True 12s. ISDT X16 is one of them.

Hi Jeff, how do you power your charger at the field? Just your car battery? Thanks. .
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 3 месяца назад
So that depends on what field I go to. My regular flying field, I helped them build a change station which has 6 100ah LifePO4 battery’s and solar panels on the roof with chargers to maintain the batteries as there is absolutely no power out there. I also have a small 2000 W inverter generator, which I keep in my trailer when I go to events and that runs my chargers. Or! You can get a 100ah life PO4 battery and make a power bank so your pulling off your car battery. There is a bunch of ways. But the 2000w inverter generator is the best, super quiet and runs all day on little fuel.
