WARNING: do NOT follow the advice in the video. There are so many errors. NEVER EVER use a black wire as a live power wire. Don’t use a single fuse to protect two wires. Use the correct size crimped terminals/ connectors for your wire gauge so the wires don’t fall out after crimping. Use a proper square crimping tool so you don’t cut into the plastic heat shrink, and when you do use it, learn how to use it properly. Old mate here (20m26s) is ignoring the coloured dots on his crimping tool that match up with the connector heat shrink colour. The yellow dot is the one he should use to crimp his yellow connector. Strip your wire with a proper stripping tool as you will cut off too many of the wires strands. Never use wing nuts to lock down battery terminals, vibrations will cause them to come loose. Use a lock nut and a nut instead.

this would be a great video on how NOT to wire a bilge pump, anyone watching this please do not strip your wires with pliers, use a proper stripping tool. If you are going to use heat shrink connectors use the proper crimping tool for heat shrink so you don't puncture and waste the awesome waterpoof feature that you paid all that extra money for. NEVER fold a wire and attempt to crimp it, use the proper sized connector. always give your wires a proper tug after crimping as well, 10lbs plus at a minimum. if you are too scared to screw a float switch into a hull you should hire someone else that knows what they are doing to do if for you. at least you used over current protection.
