Just finished getting mine installed, a wiring diagram would have been very helpful.... Blue--------------White LED Red---------------Amber LED Black------------GROUND Yellow---\____Yellow and Green wired together to get the backlighting Green----/ Connect Yellow and Green to Positive I have the short switch (bought August 2023) for my 2011 4Runner and they gave the same wiring harness as you show in the tall, so the first video was a fail for me :( But after trial and error the above combination worked for me. Seriously don't they have any standard wiring practices in china????
Hey quick question, I installed kc flex era 3 ditch lights it comes with a dual switch with 3 cables. Yellow cable=power, green cable=amber light, white cable=white lights. I order this tall dual caliraised switch but noticed it has 5 cables how can i make it work properly when my kc dual switch comes with 3 cables.

I had the perfect storm with my CR 43" dual function light bar because I, in error, ordered a small dual switch then realized I needed the tall one. Wired it up exactly as CR shows and, of course, it was wrong. Anyway, appreciate your video to confirm I was not crazy. Let me ask to make sure I understand. Did you wire green to green to supply power to both upper and lower switch? Then, to get backlighting and letter lighting, can I wire both black and yellow to an add a fuse going to a dash light circuit? Does that sound workable? Thank you.
Yes, the green is the power, or Line In for both amber and white switches. There’s a possibility that your colors are in a different order than mine. In that case, it’s probably safe to say that when the switch is in the installed position, the bottom wire in the pigtail should be the Line In - in my case it was green. The top wire should be the out or Load side for the top switch (amber). Second wire from top should be out or Load side for bottom switch (white). The other two wires (middle and second from bottom) should be backlight. Run one of those to ground and the other fused from your instrument panel light wire.
Thanks for this great information. It's ridiculous that they ship the switch with absolutely no instructions on how to wire it, or even a wiring diagram. When you go to their website, it gives you a link to a RU-vid video that basically says match each wire on the switch to the corresponding wire color on their wiring harness. There is no instruction that tells you you're going to need two relays (one for the white lights and one for the amber lights). There is also a link to a wiring diagram, but from what you've said here (and what I've found by trial and error), the diagram is totally wrong. It tells you to connect the red wire to the power source and then the blue and green wires are for the white and amber lights (don't remember which one was for which). They say that if that doesn't work, then switch the blue and red wires. I've spent several hours trying to get this thing to work, and now in 2 minutes you've told me that the green wire should be the power wire. I've tried everything else, so I'll try this next. To their credit, they sent me another switch because we couldn't get the first one to work, and their customer service tech didn't know how to fix the problem (we even sent pictures to show them how we had it wired); he was the one that suggested switching the blue and red wires. It's unfathomable how they can't just tell you that the green wire is the power wire and the blue wire is for the amber lights and the red wire is for the white lights. They said that it could vary depending on your particular vehicle, but it absolutely won't work in any other configuration. Another thing I don't understand is why they don't use the same wiring colors for both the tall and short switches? Now I guess I'll cut off the connectors and switch the wires again. You definitely got the run around. Hopefully my video helps. I think they probably get these switches from china and the wire pigtails just get assembled Willy nilly regarding colors. Good luck!
@@realtoyotology yes, it was very helpful. I tested the switch with the green wire connected to the power source, and it worked just as it was supposed to. I just don’t understand why they couldn’t have told us that from the beginning.
So I am running 2 pair’s of Baja designs squadrons which each have a black, blue and white wire running from them. When you say power source do you mean run an additional wire all the way to the battery?
@@texasbassintv936 the power source I was talking about was the one for the switch. We wanted a power source that only worked when the key was turned on, so we got one of those add-a-circuit things that plugs into the fuse box under the dash. The hot wire from the battery went to the relays.
