Thank you!! I thought I screwed up when I ran 12/2 wire!! You showed me I was fine, and worked perfect!! My setup was on an outdoor patio. I didn’t want a switch, I ram power down from above outlet in house, to an outlet for string lights on ceiling of patio too two ceiling fans in parallel, fans lights and fan are controlled by pull strings. Nothing much on the 20 amp circuit I pulled from. Thanks. Great video.

Thank you this helped me figure out a more complex circuit I want "2 fans /w lights /motors separate from 2 locations in large room. sw1 double 3 way lights both lights/ both motors .sw2 same. so far works in my theory, T.B.D.

I want to add an oulet in the ceiling in my garage to put a ceiling fan. I can tap inn from an oulet that is there already is this okay to do? Is this code?

Great visual. Thanks. I have the same scenario, but there is a red wire from both the switch and from the 2nd ceiling fan box. The ceiling fans are designed for remote control use, so there is a transmitter to be stuffed in there, as well. Any insight in to how the red wires should be connected in this situation?

Wouldn't this not allow for use of the fans or lights by themselves? As in if its day time and no need of light but you want the fan on.

Pull chains control light and fan separate as in my case. Or lots would use a remote if fan equipped for a remote. However I do think you can wire In a remote, however not sure about the remote after the fact.

It would depend on how the first fan was wired… if you are starting from scratch then probably best to avoid this method

Dood. Are you serious @0:40 ?! Where the fuck do you live where the blue wire is the fan motor hot? Blue is ALWAYS for the light kit or wireless remote (OPTIONAL). Black is fan motor hot. 🤦🏼‍♂️

he seemed nervouse to be on camera. putting a camera in someone's face can make them act all kinds of weird. also, maybe it was a shitass fan from china and they did it backwards.

Every ceiling fan I’ve ever done has the black and blue connected together to the hot wire.

usually the yellow romex is 12guage. that looked like 12/2 with ground

@@In_Case_Im_Fake is a 12/2 mean 12 gage and 2 means one neutral and one hot with a ground ?

@@losmoore3358 it means there are two 12 gauge wires inside the insulation. so you can get 12/2 and 12/2 with ground. but yes. there is one black wire (used for hot) and one white (used for neutral) and then a ground wire usually.
