Installing An Electric Outlet Plug On A Ceiling Fan 

Just the video I was looking for. Excellent! My ceiling has the wood beams showing and I have a fan that I want to put up but was not sure if I could attach it to the wood stud or if I needed to put in an electric box. There is an existing plug outlet close to where I want to hang my fan so I'm all set! Thank you

I have already done and undone it on different fans when installing it for testing. I collect ceiling fans, and test them to see if they work well.

Just an fyi, you're not supposed to twist wires together before using a wire nut. Both wires should be held in parallel, the wire nut being twisted on to the wires will do the twisting for you.

When I did this, my fan also had a blue wire that still wasn’t connected and I was wondering if that was just the wire for the light or if it’s needed to be connected to something else

All great except a full description of where (all) 3 ground (green wires) come from ? That part is ommited in detail

I have an existing ceiling fan in my mobile home that has a swag kit where it plugs into wall outlet. Can I replace the ceiling fan without using a swag kit?

Didn't know this was possible. I just built a 25ft roof/deck. Think I can connect one ceiling fan to another then tap both to 1 extension cord? Your advice would be appreciated

Where did you get the third ground green wire from? 1 from the fan 1 from the cord. Unless I heard you say something else.

It was great until you got to the green wire part for later...there is a third green wire, correct? Where did that last green wire come from? Why does your fan rock back and forth once you have it installed? Shouldn't it be solid at that point? I want to do a fan for an enclosed shelter outside I see you wrote it's not instructions just information. That's somehow stated to "protect" yourself from being sued, i guess, when some idiot's house burns down. IDK WHO could sue some random person out in the world with a random video of how they did it. Either that or perhaps you don't know how to finish it--and you had someone paid to do it between the takes??? I just wanted the "information'''of how to do it." Why post a video to show someone how to do something when you can't or don't want to do it????? You are just like the other men. They start something--then run out.

There has got to be a law against people posting videos on RU-vid that, if followed, risk people’s lives. This is completely illegal and unsafe. You mounted that bracket directly to wood that is flammable. If the splice starts to arc, and believe me, they do, that wood is gonna burn and catch fire. You must install a junction box for the splices to be contained in and the fan bracket mounts to the junction box.
