*Great unit that’s easy to install and use. It’s relatively quiet compared to window units and **Fastly.Cool** , and it cools down our whole living room, side room and bathroom; which is a large space for any unit to cool.*

Great video. One observation I’d like to add. I had a White, Black, Red, and Green (ground) coming out of the ceiling socket with a three switch light bank at the wall. The Fan has a Black, White, and Green wire. If you have a multi-light switch outlet, remove the cover to identify which switch connects to the Red and which to the Black wire. Knowing the status of your home wire installation will save a lot of installation headaches.

Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ru-vid.comUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

@@diypotentials Hi, thanks for the video, i have a question: what doing now the switch you had for the lamp?, Does it only turn on the light or does it turn on the whole fan as well?

@@jorgeluistamayadominguez2638 it turns on the whole fan, but you then use the remote control to turn the light and fan off or on.

So, what is your wall switch ? Is it a dimmer switch or a regular switch ? I have a dimmer switch and would like to know if I can connect the blue wire (light) from the fan, remote blue wire and the red wire from ceiling all three together ? And have the black from receiver to black from ceiling.

Thanks for the video. Question, if I want to use a longer rod, the wires are short and won't come out all the way, is it safe to cut the end by the white clip and connect and use electrical tape inside the rod? I am surprised how they didn't think of this since the rod it came with is pretty short for my vaulted ceiling.
@blaneahm9891
@blaneahm9891 День назад
Actually, I am assuming the 'some wiring' you mentioned is the extra wires to use for longer rods.

I have a wiring question I haven't found a good answer to. My old fan (w/ no light) was controlled by a single on/off wall switch. From the ceiling is a black, red, white, and ground wire. The transmitter for the new "remote" fan as a white and black wire to going to power source. Which wire from ceiling (red or black) do I attach to the black transmitter wire? And will the old wall switch now only send power to the transmitter (i.e. fan is now controlled only by the remote control)?
@diypotentials
@diypotentials Год назад
Both the red and black wires are live. Either one should work. Since the remote transmitter comes with black and white, I would use to the black wire just to match the two wires.
@juancardenas4083
@juancardenas4083 Год назад
The black and red are your switch legs which are used to distribute power to your light and fan separately. Since youre adding the remote you wont need both you just need one to power the transmitter. Connect the blacks at the switch and cap off and hide the red.
@Cristobal8605

This is helpful however I wish I could still use both wall switches and not rely on the remote control option alone, is that possible? I.e. what if the remote is lost?

My wires have power but the fan won't turn on. I have no ground but that shouldn't be the issue. Any thoughts?
@diypotentials

You might have to rewire making sure the connections are tight. The lights and fan should work even without ground…hope you got it working already…thanks!

I bought this same fan and I wanted to wire the fan directly to a designated switch for light and fan. It’s such a nightmare because the way the led module can switch the color mode with pulses . I wish they made the led light with a switch to change the color temp rather than rely on the remotes since I’m not using the remote .

Does your fan work with switch or only remote? It’s a pain mine doesn’t work with switch and light changes tone every time I turn off or on.

Hi. I have 3 light switches connected to my fan/light with remote set up. Since the blue wire from the fan was connected inside of a plastic connector coupled with 2 other wires, I’m not sure how I should connect the red wire from the junction box. I capped it off but now I can only turn the fan/light off and on from one of the light switches. The other 2 are dead. Any suggestion? Thanks for the video.
@diypotentials
@diypotentials 2 года назад
Hello, those switches were pre-wired to power the fan and light separately--one for the fan and one for the light. I'm not sure what the 3rd switch is for. But since your ceiling fan comes with a remote control, you only need to power it using one switch. Capping off one of the switches (red wire) as you did was correct. You no longer need that switch or the 3rd switch if is not connected to anything. Notice now that your remote control should have two switch buttons, one for the light and one for the fan. I hope this helps. Thanks!

@@linder00 What I ended up doing, since I had a 2 Pole wall Switch and now only using 1 switch. I used the red wire (extra) in the ceiling fan bracket and ran some recess lights to round the fan area. It was super easy since the wiring is already there

I have two problems regarding safety in your installation method 1) the mounting screws are too light duty and not suited for the load. You should be using anchor bolt screws 2) you do not have a safety line to attach the fan to the mounting bracket.
