My wife and I found your channel 4 days ago and we have literally watched nothing else for 4 days. We are simply blown away. We have totally fallen in love with your channel. You are both so natural and your videos are incredible. We are so excited now for every video you publish. Your campervan is simply incredible and your work ethic (both of you) is inspiring to us both. Thank you for giving us your time and producing these videos. Can't wait to see it all done.
Ladi is a magician ! It boogles my mind how he knows so much, and especially how quickly he learns what (rare) he doesn’t know. And great how he and charming Margaret complement each other.
Keep going guys. Your excitement about this van is still there, keep up that motivation. It's often easy to work when the weather is warm and beautiful, but Czech Republic winters can be long, cold and dreary. Be each other's sunshine. The end to the van build is in sight.😊
This is one of those vids where everything goes over my head and I just watch for kitty shots. 🤣💕🐈 Luckily hubby understands it all and he tries explaining as you go. 👍 He did mention using grommets as extra wire protection anywhere that you're drilling through the metal and putting a wire through. 👍 Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays! 💖❄🎄 Our snow melted already. 😒 -Troy & Aimee
It's amazing to think that yous have put enough hours into this van that for most van builds the job would be nearing completion, but you're still just getting started!! Can't wait to see the full electrical see through cabinet in the back!!!
I always considered myself a relatively tech-savvy guy. Until Ladi starts laying out his mad-scientist-movie-villain plot, to wire up a campervan. This looks complicated, and genius, and I love the organization and pre-planning of the wires. I used to be a network engineer, years ago. And there's nothing worse than wire spaghetti. 😂👍
Loving the ground up approach and detailed planning! I’m sure it will pay off for you in time saved later. The two sub fuse boxes is a great idea also.
I just watched your other video and was so happy you guys back on the van build, and just notice another one popped up. it must be my birthday! still my favourite channel out there, keep up the good work yall!
Guys, I understand the one a week, but I feel like we are finally getting to the meat and potatoes of the van build! I’m so excited and can’t wait to see it!
You need a deburring tool/pen reamer for cleaning up those holes in steel... It'll change your life! Also you can actually get printable heat shrink for that labeller. Great project, can't wait to see it progress
I’m really really happy that this video was released sooner than expected! From monthly uploads to your usual Wednesday uploads, so you guys are back to normal 😜 Keeep rocking
Läuft ja bei euch - nichts passiert die ganzen Monate?! Kein Haus fertig - die Karre auch nicht 👏👏👏 Ladi sieht aus wie ein Durchsichtiger... Langsam glaub ich - der kifft.
more voltage less current and thinner cable needed, current most determines the size of the cable. example 1kv/1000w inventter on 12V system takes about 90A and on 24V its around 45A. Nice to see that you guys are have been able to continue the project.
you can use a close tube around protection so you will not need to keep it close with plastic tape. and then you can use the metal tool that homes electricians use to drive the cables from one side of the tube to the other. one other idea is to put bigger tubes from the front to the rear of the van and put all the big cables there
Hi my name is Jeffery from Blackpool England and I live in a tent in the back of a van and struggling but your video is inspiring to hope one day I could do something like you two have done the qwolerty of your workman and work woman ship is first class am now 60 years old and still have hope to be Abel to achieve the dream thank you both
Great job Ladi it looks like you are wiring up the star treck enterprise lol, but i bet it will be amazing when done, love watching you work. Stay safe see you on the next one. Michael uk
Nice job, just an idea I am doing for my van for you or any one else, I have most of LEDs on the house battery but the cabinet lighting including the power / fuse cabinet are on the van battery so if I lose my main LEDs or power I can open a cabinet and have some light to allow me to fix the problem and the cabinets won't be be open very often so they won't flatten the van battery. Also a off topic question tying in to your last two security videos. Have given any thought or are planning to add any slime or similar product to the tires to help prevent flat tires from punctures and or censors to let you know if you are losing air?
Where did you get the CAD model from? Also does it mean that I always should choose a higher voltage over a smaller voltage? For example a 230v fridge being better than a 12v fridge?
Ladi - I have a vauxhall vivaro that had a roof refrigerator/AC unit on, I've removed it but want to know best way to reseal the roof or probably replace for roof vent. UK south. The label maker can print along the length of the cable too. Should have another option in the menu.
It’s just like building a house. They put in all the wires, water mains, gas mains in to the bare bones of the house. You need to know where things go first! A lot of people do it backwards which is not efficient.
Love the video's, gives me loads of ideas! Keep it up! Would have given it a chance to win the Airstream, but unfortunately Omaze is unavailable in my location (Belgium)... =/
impressed to see you adopt 48v. I am doing a project to retrofit an electric assistance to the rear axle of my Ducato, it provides an on demand part time low speed 4wd, with locking diff. helps to the shift the fat arse of one these fwd if they get stranded with their open diff front wheels spinning. i am using a 48v system, motor and gearbox from a Renault Twizy car. contact me for my blog to read more.
Great minds think alike! I label all of my wires on both ends with masking tape and now you have me looking on Amazon for a label maker! Love seeing the wiring part of this because I’m OCD about hiding/channeling wires as well. I’m also geeking out about the clear panels with the LED lights that you will install 🤩 This whole build is so exciting!!
Such a sweet setup... but with so many wires in areas that would normally be used to secure panels how are you going to ensure you don't secure a panel through a wire
Hi guys, thanks for another great video with very good information! I’m going to start a camper build 2022 (just bought a truck that will arrive during March) and my electrical system basics looks similar to yours, with 12VDC for lights and some other low power consumers, 48VDC to run inverter and 230VAC from inverter to power hungry equipment. I’m wondering if you will be using 48VDC for anything else than inverter feed? And I’m not sure at this point if my fridge will be 12VDC or 230VAC (I will start though with a small 12VDC chest fridge that will be destined to be a freezer later on).
So here's the million dollar question, unless I missed it, what about the second alternator for this 48v system? Are you counting on all solar for the recharge?
@@ladiandmargaret if its possible, please document the install. The Promaster second alternator has the reputation of slicing through the lower radiator hose. But then again, you have the Euro model, so who knows?
When you has dismantled the wall, do you had to change the type of car? I mean what does the law say in the Czech Republic? In many European countries, a wall separating the cabin is required for commercial vehicles. Without a change in the documents, the vehicle cannot undergo annual technical inspection. The dismantling of this wall is often associated with the need to re-register the car and carry out many technical tests. I wonder how it was with you?
I currently have a 24V system in my cargo trailer but on the next build will go to 48V with only a 120V ac system. Using anything 12v is senseless. The cost of 12v items is far too high both in money and in power usage and it only adds headaches to the wiring system.
I heard Margaret comment that the main battery bank is rated at "15 kilowatt-hour(s)". Normally, I hear battery banks rated for amp-hours. Can anyone help me with converting kilowatt-hours to amp-hours?
Hey can you please cover or explain how you are charging a 48 volt battery off a 12 volt alternator I have this problem but with 24 volt I’m currently using a second inverter and charging at 230 volts and would love other solutions
About the size of the wire for the pump. I belive the 6mm2 wire is way too big for that, just look at the wires the pump itself has in betwen the presure sensor and the motor :). I have punched some numbers to the calculator an i have come to conclusion that 2,5mm2 wire would on 4 meters give a voltage drop of 0,14V so you could use a less thick wire :)
Woah! I usually just watch and enjoy but you had a pretty inaccurate bit of information in this video. You said your 10A water pump on 12V needed a #6 wire to go 3M. The correct wire is a #14 for that distance. #6 could go 20M. If you stepped up to 24V you could double those distances. Please doublecheck your math you might be oversizing your own build.
Have loved watching all your vids and common sense approach to what is needed in your van but now it just seems to be excessive and a little pretentious. Is this a van to travel and live in or a showcase of sponsored products and revenue streams?
It’s only our imagination what the best van would be. We only accept sponsorship for parts that fit our vision. Once it’s done, we’ll live in it full time. If the small space is not designed well, it becomes torture to live in.
Don’t want to be a grumpy one... BUT it is unbelievable that u are still working with omaze... they never allow to win east Europe. And u live in EU. This is sooooooooo sad... each time when I participated in omaze they always give their vans to Americans. It’s ok, but majority audience on ur channel I assume from EU🙈🙆🏽♀️☺️☺️☺️ and moooore 🐱 pleeeeeease smart pants cool staff 🤪🐱🙃🙃🙃🙃
