I'm getting this codec problem message at the top of my screen when I try to upload my apple pro res 422 hq movie file. Not sure why. This the codec when I look up the info on my file: Timecode, Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Linear PCM. Any Ideas what is going wrong? I created my file from Final Cut Pro. Codec information for .mov files Mezzanine file: When submitting a mezzanine with the .mov file extension, please make sure it uses a ProRes 422 HQ video codec. We support AVC/H.264 codecs with .mp4, .m2t, and .ts file extensions.

Cool, so question for you: If I publish my movie on Amazon Prime Video Direct, does Amazon take its commission from the price of the show if it's sold (50%, as I heard) or pay me back for the minutes watched?

Hi! Wanted to ask you something. I uploaded the video on amazon prime but it was rejected because '' Content licensing guidelines - Licensing rejection: Your title wasn't selected for licensing to Prime Video. All content submitted through Prime Video Direct is licensed at the sole discretion of Amazon. All review decisions are final and this title may not be resubmitted or appealed. '' Is there a way to find out if my title is going to be approved before I send it to them to review it ? And what should I follow as rules so they will accept my title? Any tips about choosing the right title? I cannot understand from the info they have on the website. Thank you.

Regarding the pricing option that appears when you’re uploading to Amazon prime. Isn’t the viewer supposed to have free access to prime videos if they’re a prime member? Is that pricing just for the people who aren’t prime members?

Question, should a filmmaker put their movie on both Video Direct and Prime Video. Because people who don't have Prime can still rent or buy the movie. Of should a filmmaker do the video direct first and then a few months later put the movie on Prime.

It’s def one of the options. Our film didn’t get to ROW until a few months after submission. Not sure why it took so long. Every film is different

Firstly, thanks for the video! Very helpful! I have one question... So 'original release date' does not relate to when the work was released (eg a film festival is considered a release date on IMDb), but its actually the date you wish amazon to release it?

It’s quite confusing I agree. Amazon allows you release earlier than when you publish on Amazon. So the original or official release date should be used. I haven’t done this long enough and I assume festivals aren’t considered releases (but pre release)

@@FeisworldMedia Oh I dont want the IMDb release date to be the official release date, but IMDb certainly considers a festival screening to be a release date!!! ... Hmmm... not sure what to do. Officially it hasnt been released at all yet (except for what IMDb says)...

Hi Connor, Amazon Video Direct is clunky and needs work! When sometimes doesn't work you need to contact support - shows in my video. They have to "release" it or else we can't edit what's been submitted, very frustrating I know

They then denied our license, after approving our license and now it is not rentable on the site.... any tips?! it is super frustrating. We are going in circles with the contact support team.

Hi Larry, I am no expert when it comes to documentary marketing and monetization. It’s a long road and it can be very hard. I also haven’t made much for my own documentary. Instead, I find RU-vid marketing to be a lot more effective for my business and services, maybe it’s that something to consider for your film business?
