I thought "is this Nightwish?" but then realized it sounds along the lines of early Nightwish. Also, it almost sounds like Christopher Bowes from Alestorm invaded a Nightwish song in the middle. I think it's because Marco singer higher in the shouty parts, and the pitch Sam used is closer to Chistopher's. I actually love that it sounds like Christopher Bowes

Hi, Nightwish fan here. You've got to have a dreamy sounding keyboards and a lot of piano. Then make an orchestral interlude which listeners can headbanging to. Orchestra is more important than guitar solo. If you put guitar solo, it has to be simple and melodic.

Might be true for today's nightwish, but back then they weren't that melodic. With Tarja the keyboard was more dominant and almost no pure orchestra elements. 'Wish I Had an Angel' or 'Stargazer' somewhat sounds similar in my opinion. With Olzon they were more rockish and this parody fit totally that area. Many of their stracks on Imaginaerum have the vibe of this parody I think. Ofc if we take the Nightwish with Floor it's kinda of road, even tho the lyrics still fitting. But overall I think it's good for a parody of Nightwish as a whole.

As written in the almighty "metalheads code of conduct" that I just made up, Nightwish HAS to answer to this with a Dragonforce song made in 10 minutes. Article 66.6 even says "the winner shall be decided with a collaboration between both bands, until one of them rolls on the floor laughing"... It cannot be avoided, it says so in the code!

@@npinjest7779 Welp, I dunno how many days u have known NW, but I have listened to them since around 1998, sooo... Yes, this was VERY much like a NW song! Good stuff! \m/ Replace the verse lead guitar with a keyboard and it's perfect Tarja era ear-candy. Imagine Marco during the pre-chorus and it fits nicely. The chorus would fit perfectly on anything between Oceanborn and Century Child! Killer melodies!

@@MaximusAdonicus It's practice that makes perfect, not the starting point ))))) While I am no NW Army, I probably listen enough to make the bench ... so it's not out of ignorance I suggest that had the keyboard indeed replaced the verse lead guitar it might have greater resemblance to a signature NW. Without the borrowed riff in the intro and compared to their two prior attempts, it's a nice try, but I don't see how you'd know whose song they wrote in 10 minutes... As for catchy NW, we might have to disagree on that one too, as I think they still have some of the stickiest songs out there, which is why I keep listening. Have you heard Pan from their latest?

Props to Sam trying. I'm going with Floor, since her range is probably more closely fits with Sam's. Though I haven't heard anything by Annette, Tarja is way more operatic where Floor does a lot of genres and vocal type.

Which era of Nightwish is this song? Clearly it is Tarja Turunen "In celestial mermaid dreams" is clearly a parody riff off the Oceanborn album though the overall concept is like straight from the Human Nature album, and i love it.

I think that Sam is truly incredible. Only his lyrics writing skills can be improved, but otherwise this sounds like a legit song! Like... I think other bands can actually hire him to compose their songs :P And he does it so quickly!
