Wishing you and all other writers the best of luck this Nanowrimo! I'll be trying to complete my current project (Its a fanfic lol and I'm on the final chapter!) And I want to see if I can maybe start working on/planning the sequel if i have the time in between studying for gcses! I've been watching your videos for a while now and I've learnt alot from you as a fellow neurodivergent too :)
One thing also!! Dont be intimidated by nanowrimo if november is a busy month for you! If you need, you can just transfer it to another month that makes it easier for you to write every day. Thats what I'm doing this year, i transferred it to January which is my break month.
this is my first nanowrimo so this is so handy! it was actually by watching your last nano video that i learnt about it and it inspired me to try. i'm autistic and doing gcses so idk if ill manage to complete it but these tips were so helpful! you are a wonderful person btw ❤
@@Zara_Beth I'm disabled by my psychiatric conditions and have very limited energy and function. Many writers talk about writing for 4-6 hours a day, whereas if I have good energy one day my max is 1 hour. How do you handle writing when being limited by your disability? Is there any online group for disabled writers? I feel SO inferier and like a failure when I hang around able-bodied writers, because their ability is so beyond mine. I just get discouraged and hopeless. I'd love to connect with writers who has disabilities, does anyone know where?
Hey, really love the content, really love the set up, that picture of the moon phases in your wall is awesome, and love the fact that you look like a cute mouse😍 you just got 1 more subscriber✌❤
Brilliant advice! I have never thought balancing my neurodivergence with my writing, so many thanks. It gives me a new perspective and I’m old - so I should have figured these things out sooner. Wisdom comes and we have to be open to understanding it. I’m such a pantser, but over the years I’ve unconsciously found a balance between my ADHD and my writing (Maybe not a great one given that I don’t have any fiction published, but being a technical writing and writing instructor/coach forces me to face it all and organize). Good luck with NaNoWrimo and I look forward to watching your progress - also the insightful neurodivergence advice.
How do you manage to finish novels with your adhd? I have adhd as well as other mental disorders, and I can never write quick enough to finish a project before I start a new one. I get new ideas for books every week, new characters and themes etc. I have so many half-written books that are really good, but I can't finish them because I've lost my inspiration for the story and is all over the next idea. It's a vicious circle. How do you handle writing and adhd? I'd love some tips. I'm 36 yo, so it bothers me very much that I haven't been able to publish anything yet, since it's been my dream since I was 10. I hate that mental health makes it so difficult to write!
I like to record myself writing but it's more for the treasure video aspect, and something I can rewatch, then make others rewatch over and over again! :D I also like to pretend that writing books and movie screenplays is illegal, socializing and making friends in my day to day life, but then behind closed doors I'm writing books and recording TB's of videos and photos carrying out the books and screenplays! And it's the colorful portable harddrives! But I have final drafts of screenplays under my bed, in my closet, in my two cash boxes, and in the back of my car! The finished drafts of my books are in the same places! And the fact that I'm writing books and no one in my neighborhood knows about it--- DRIVES me to push it further and further! Honing my skills and perfecting my craft! And no one's stopping me... NO ONE! I have three of my books published on amazon! :D
As I commented on another of your writing videos, I plan to attempt NaWriMo for the second time this year (2024), your tips are spot on. Hopefully I will be a bit more successful than my last attempt especially if Listen to your tips.

will say another tip, atleast one that helps me, anyone wanting to start writing who haven't done much in the past to start with just doing mini/short stories which can help focus on a bit of world and character building on much smaller scale
You houstly so amazing and helpful you do more then just spread awareness of tourettes you help people realise there potential especially younger men and women
Some good tips, although I just missed it, as I hand't heard of NaNoWriMo before, I will probably do it next year. In the meantime I'll use these tips for other things I'm writing.
Zara I rly admire how brave u are I would be terrified but I have a question if u don’t want to awnser it I understand but do u get bord with fnd or can u get it just wondering
Hi 👋 I also have tics but one time a kid in my class(he has screaming tics) he was very loud so my teacher shut him in sick bay and he wasn't allowed out until he stopped .I felt so bad for him
Heyyy, Zara! I'm a bit young, but I have 3 chapters/21 pages in book. Did I write too much for my first book? Once I get done, and I'm almost done, I'm doing another book. Writing is really fun, though. (Oh, and uh, this isn't a Novel question, it's just a Writing question.)
I like this. I would like to try it... Not nessecarlly in November. I just need a word processing thing. Because with memory card issues and spell check foofahas it could take twice as long.. but I luv to travel in the Nation.....the Imagination..
I've tried Nanowrimo 3 times already, but never got through. Hopefully, 4th times the charm. These tips seem really really helpful thankies for sharing them Zara. Gotta get working on this one.(。・∀・)ノ゙✨✨
i had to drop out of college because of my disability so it's the first time i've had the time and energy to try nanowrimo. i've been writing all my life and it's my absolute biggest passion, so having the time to commit to it is really exciting for me. idk if i'll complete the challenge but i've already written more this month than i have in a long time so i'm pleased
@@Zara_Beth fr it's been so amazing, I feel like I'm connecting with my younger self in a way I haven't been able to before because of trauma and stuff
What is your username on Nanowrimo, Zara? I tried to find you so I could add you to my favourite authors but you didn’t come up under the name “Zara”! ❤😁
