In which I talk through the steps of how to use the Reading Response Paragraph writing frame when analysing texts.
NOTE:
As is the case with most writing frames, you may find this method limiting if you are aiming for the higher grades (7+), so feel free to adapt/discard this approach if you are confident enough to produce an answer without this level of support.

I don't think reading responses should have a specific format. Of course, having a point in your response is essential, but reader response dramatically depends on one's opinion. Moreover, when using a structure, I believe exploring should be the first step. If you haven't researched the material thoroughly and entirely, your response might be unrelated to what actually is in the material. However, thank you for sharing what was practical for writing your reader responses.

I agree completely; reader response is driven entirely by a reader’s own interpretation and reaction to a text. Unfortunately, in an exam context such as this it’s important to note what the examiners will award marks for, so it isn’t as freeform or as structure-less as perhaps a true reading response may be. That being said, this is an older video of mine and I’ve since come to use a different approach of writing up an analysis, which I may make a video on in the near future.
