Welcome to episode 2 in my video game rescore series! Tunic is the video game we're focusing on today and I'm going to walk you through scoring a new song for the game. We'll analyze some of what makes this soundtrack special, play with hardware synths and effects, and have fun making some music along the way! This is a fantastic exercise if you're in a creative slump. I hope you have fun watching! Let me know what you think.

Finishing the Golden Path was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had after many years of playing video games. Largely because of the soundtrack, this moment will stay with me. To the sound of "Snowmelt", I took out my cell phone and drew a mental map going through the puzzle, while writing down all the necessary inputs in a notebook. Seeing the door opening, with an extremely satisfying melody and then a calm... Only art and passion involved in the creation of this work.

Tunic is a genuine work of art. The music alone is reason enough to play it, but it also happens to be an awesome game. Thanks for the breakdown of the theory behind the main motif, that stuff is always fascinating. And great track!

Totally agree! My first exposure to Tunic was when I noticed my partner playing it one day. The game looked fun, but I remember thinking the music was so good that I would have to give it a go myself to hear more of the soundtrack! Thanks for checking out the video!

Congratulations ! You really well captured the whole TUNIC athmosphere with this new track ! Also, did you know that all the TUNIC sounds got a meaning in the game's language ? I am wondering if your creation would mean something in that language as well :p ! Again, big congratulation !

Great suggestion! I'm sure it'll make it into an episode in the future. The music in Celeste is so good. I remember I'd just set the controller down after dying 10 times in a row and just chill to some of the tunes. Might just have to pick that game up again soon..
