Good evening Dr.Emiley, Iam Muthu pandi kumar,Pursuing my Ph D in physiotherapy.I have two questions. 1)Is there any special format for medical and allied health professions? 2) Is there any word or sentence limitations like we do in an abstract?
Excuse me! I would ask you a question if you don't mind. I donated to my dad. Is it important to write what I did in my CV? if it is yes please tell me how to write it.
Hey! Thank you for such an important video. However, I do need to ask, do all the CVs need to look so dull? I mean I come from a design background, and this format looks monotonous. Can these CVs be a little fancy?
You're more than welcome to jazz your CV up any way you want, but the industry standard in political science is to have a simplistic CV like this. Just keep in mind that there is a style/form for a reason. When you are serving on a review committee and you have to review 100 CVs for a scholarship opportunity, you just want the relevant info and you want it to be easy to read/find. If anything, a super flashy CV that has unnecessary design flourishes and useless information would annoy me. A standard black and white CV is your safest bet. Now, if you go outside academia, you may feel comfortable getting creative. But no one in academia will remember you by your flashy CV. If they do, it will most likely be in a bad/annoyed way like "Oh, she's the one with the stupid pink flowers all over her CV" haha
Hi Dr. I am willing to pursue a graduate degree in civil engineering. So, do I have to use a STAR method to describe my academic projects and work experience in my academic CV?
I have a question regarding dissertation section in CV, the question is should we count Undergraduate project report or internship report in dissertation section?
That wouldn't go in your dissertation section but you could have it elsewhere--perhaps if you presented the undergrad report at a conference, it could go under conference presentation
