A movie which has multiple short stories unified by a common premise, theme or event is called an Anthology movie. It is easy to write a logline for single line stories but how to crack this for multi-story movies. let's dive in to know more.
Logline for Awe: A mentally troubled woman comforts herself by weaving stories in her mind based on various shades of her own personality and a few unfortunate events that occurred in her life.
Logline for Kancharapalem: A man who gets married in his 50s shares his failed love stories to his wife on their nuptial night. The stories span through childhood, teenage and adulthood and explain how they have evolved him into believing in humans rather than religions or gods.

So much valuable information from you.sir can you please brief the relationship between director and DOP on the set.what director has to say the DOP and what not? For debutants is it giving first choice to the DOP regarding the creative side of aspects or director should go for what he/she has in his/her mind.sir give some notes on practical side of the film shoot or film set for aspiring film makers. Ajay sir.I have a small doubt,directors make movies everybody has their own way of looking at things,but some directors and writers create some magic ,for example maniratnam garu...recently goutham tinnanuri..rajkumar hirani and many others..my doubt is ..is there any hard and fast rule for it..or there is something else in it..if possible please address this in your next video sir..

Sir...as loglines are used mainly as part of our pitch to producers...don't you think it is necessary to not reveal the suspense of the story ..as the producer will no more be intrigued when he listens to the narration or reads the script For a producer it should unfold exactly how it plays out on screen. Here you have revealed the suspense which was the USP of both the films, so it may not be an ideal way to write a logline even if it's an anthology or not. Pls share your thoughts....

Sir I've a doubt. These two log-line examples that you've taken, spoil the 'twist' of the movie. Is that how these log-lines should be? Shouldn't we try not to to revel the ending, especially these two movies which have used things like a twist for emotional impact.

Hi Dinesh, logline is a pitching device. It helps you to present your idea to the potential stakeholders like hero, producer, production house etc. So they need to know the complete story if you want them to invest their time/money in your idea. If you can hook them without revealing the twist, then you are a master story teller. As an experiment try telling your logline with and without the twist to 2 groups of friends respectively. See which group is more interested. Problem solved. There are no rules to craft. Only guidelines. - AJ
