I'd love to learn about what the oldest human remains are that have been found to date! Also how do you distinguish between "modern humans" (which I guess is homo sapiens?) and our ancestors before that? And in general I'd also like to hear about any topics that you were and are passionate about from your degree, learning from people who are clearly excited about their subject is always fun, and thus makes the specific topic fun as well.

So there are actually official laws to this that change by country. In the UK, archaeology is usually considered to be anything 80+ years in the ground. Regardless of perceived age, if any skeletal remains are uncovered by anyone in the UK, the individual must alert the police who will then alert forensic archaeologists and anthropologists. These forensic archaeologists can help to provide an age of the remains and whether or not they are, in fact, human. As far as what my tutors said though, in general 80+ years becomes archaeological as opposed to forensic.
