a laser bore is a good sight to help you zero your gun but should not be used without testing. Always make sure your gun is accurate after sighting it in with actual ammo
You did fail to mention, that a laser bore sight tool is only good if it is truly centered inside the barrel. Which can be checked by cutting the laser on, and rolling it across a flat surface, projecting against a wall. If the laser is off, when you roll it, it draws a circle on the wall. If it is straight and true, you will just see a straight line, or a slow moving dot! Cheap Chineseum bore sight tools are far to often NOT a calibrated tool!
I have a question… if the bore sight is off how would that affect its accuracy if the laser is inside the chamber not on the end of the barrel? Wouldn’t it not matter if it’s off? I’m a bit confused about that
most of these are not a perfect round cylinder and most have an angle on the cylinder so you cant lay it on a table and roll it because it will lay at an angle. The actual bullet IS a perfect round cylinder
A good boresighter will help get you on paper, but you must still take it to the range for fine tuning that zero. Once you're done, be sure to make witness marks on your elevation and windage.
This worked perfectly for mine and my father’s red dots. Brought a bore sight to the range, set my target at 10 yards and did exactly this. Took a few shots and it was dead on for the both of us. Even if your bore sight is off center, this method should still get you on paper and you can make the adjustments at that point.
I have the Cat Pro on my Hellcat pro. So far it's been a great dot and much more reasonably priced than the H. Also I like the direct fitment without the adapter plate . I like the fact it doesn't stay on forever after putting it down, using battery life like the H. Great video. Appreciate it.
A link to where you got your boresight would have been nice... Just sayn' lol Though, good video. I've used them on rifles. Would have never thought to use a different color than the red dot
If you put the laser sight into your magazine and chamber it like an actual bullet, it will be truer in the barrel and you won't damage your extractor or get the laser module stuck in the barrel.
Laser sight tools are good for getting the dot in a decent range. You have to confirm zero with live fire. Relying solely on a laser sight tool is foolish. Micro adjustments will always be needed. Pros and cons to this video.
I have the same red dot and have the same bore sight I took my pistol to the range for some reason it was still off... I guess it may just be me after a while I just gave up and took the red dot off my pistol and went with the irons.
