Man the prices there are very good. The range i go is 25 for a lane plus 20 if you want to rent a gun, private lessons are 100 and ammo prices are crazy
I've shot at many indoor ranges within the United States while on TDY or on vacation throughout the years. Your pricing is very reasonable for everything that you showed in this video. Compared to some that were charging almost $1 a round for 9mm and $2.50 to shoot 45/70 target rounds (lead core). I hope yoe stay in business for a long time.
Where I live the indoor range is $16 and you can be there as long as you want up to closing. No green tip allowed plus you have to wear double hearing protection(ear plugs and earmuffs). At the outdoor range it's $10 and you can be there as long as you want up to closing. No restrictions on ammo.
@@MeetRob You're right about that. Indoor ranges have the comfort factor. It's expensive for electricity to run the air conditioning and the air cleaners. Plus the target retrieval system and the building of the range to make them safe. It's really a bargain price when you think about it. The outdoor range you don't have air conditioner and you have to walk down range to put up your target. If you do a lot of shooting walking back and forth can give you a workout. In Texas where I live we just got a lot of rain and you can't go until it dries out and the mosquitos are real bad right now. I have to wear a sweatshirt when I mow the lawn and the temperature is low 90's now.
Hi from the UK. I belong to a gun range and have my firearms licence and shotgun licence. Our club only hires out rifles and shotguns but you can shoot pistols. Their range of weapons is a bit limited but you can hire rifles like a 223, a 22, a 17hmr, a 303, a 308 and a few more. Cost of hiring a gun, shotgun or rifle, for members is about £3.50 ?? $4 ish. You can use the rifle as long as you stay. Hired weapons require you to shoot club ammo purchased there. It is limited compared to many of the American experiences but for a country who many believe you can't own a gun, we do OK. In some ways I'm pleased I don't live in America mainly because I would be perpetually broke from buying guns and ammunition. 😅😅
My range charges $18 for a lane and $10 for up to two guests on that lane for those with the cheap annual subscription (or pay like $300 for zero lane charges for the year). $10 to rent a single firearm and $25 to be able to use any of the rentable firearms and switch between them. You have to use ammo from their store, though, which means prices are a lot higher than bulk ammo (think $18 for 50 rounds of 9).
I pay $15 to shoot all day in a pistol lane up to 25 yards, a rifle range that's 50 yards and another that's 100 yards. There is another range I go to, membership and background check only that's $1,200 a year but you have your own private 50x50 yard bay with steel targets, IPSCs and you can draw from a holster and do actual movements.
@@imgriizzly4179 you get your own private bay. Depending on the bay that's available, there are members who leave their steel targets. You're allowed to stay as long as you want, you just have to sign up for the time. You can shoot at night. You can run, draw from a holster, wear gun belts and plate carriers. You're alone and can do whatever you want. They also have separate 100, 200, 300, 500, and 800 yard targets to shoot. It's pretty nice compared to static, bench or standing only ranges that yell at you for rapid fire and don't allow you to actually draw from a IWB or OWB holster. Drawing your weapon is particularly important that most people don't have the experience doing with live fire practice. Most people never have the ability to shoot and run drills at night, practicing utilizing your flashlight or night vision. 99% of the ranges are ok for zeroing your weapon but they instill such bad habits into people. Imagine shooting at nothing but a range that makes you stand in one place only holding your pistol or rifle very specific ways only and requires you to shoot one round per second. That's literally training you to be ineffective. There aren't a whole lot of places that allow open drills and movement. Once you start training that way, it's hard to go back to anything else.
@@imgriizzly4179 it's definitely not for everyone and $100 a month (or $1,000 if you pay for it up front) is a lot, especially if you factor in ammo, which you'll burn through quickly. If you have a friend with some land and can find a spot with a berm I highly recommend shooting this way. Just be safe and don't be a dumbass.
Just for reference, my local range costs me $80 in annual membership. Free access at all times. No additional fees. There is a 25m pistol range, two IPSC bays, several rifle ranges from 50m to 300m. There's also trap, skeet and various hunting ranges. We shoot IPSC handgun, shotgun and rifle as well as PRS, PCC and Kpist (full auto SMG). At $1200 annually, you guys are getting ripped off.
Dam my local shooting charges $25 for a lane rent 1hr, $20 for handgun rental and $30 for rifles, $20-30 per box of ammo (depending on the gun you shooting hangun, rifle, shotgun) $5 dollars a paper target, $10 for safety and earplugs and the private shooting lessons for 80$ an hour
$25 for a half hour training is crazy pricing. You should charge more, but on the other hand I appreciate keeping teaching proper firearm usage accessible.
Leverage and take care of your range officers. They are invaluable. Where i shoot they are xpolice, x military or current academy. I’ve only been shooting for about a year and they have accelerated my learning exponentially. Btw….Heritage Guild, Easton, PA.
I am in shock. This is in my neighborhood and I am going to purchase my first gun there soon. I am ten minutes away. This video is very informative for a new visitor to a gun store and range. Thank You Rob.
Don't doubt yourself on your prices - they are very reasonable. I am sure that ammo prices are affected by market but it sounds like for a first-time shooter this is really reasonable. Keep in mind - bring your own safety glasses and hearing protection (and ammo) and you can save a little bit. Obviously if you buy a gun this is the kind of place you want to go to become familiar with it. That brings me to another point - if you are practicing with FMJ (full metal jacket) and planning on using this for home defense - I'd REALLY suggest you put a few boxes through the pipe at a range. Some defense ammo reacts differently or may have less grain and will certainly kick differently. I learned what stove piping was when I put my first box of defense ammo.
The range i work at charges 15 for half hour 25 for an hour we rent eyes and ears and sell all targets for 1 dollar and it cost 10 dollars to add an extra person to your lane and can do up to 3 shooters per lane we do range passes 10 hour blocks 6 months or 1 year and we offer ccw classes at 100 dollars or personal classes for 50 dollars all gun rentals are 10 dollars as well and our ammo isn't bad as far as price goes
Good solid review. Im off to Colorado and Wyoming soon and will definitely be shooting, those prices are amazing, and the choice of handguns is good. I hope I get some similar deals when I get up to my stop! As a highly restricted UK based shooter, any opportunity to use a full fat handgun, and of course, a semi auto rifle is a must!
This is some city folk stuff. It’s way different in the country. Any friend or neighbor can come over and shoot my guns at anytime. I have the G19 and G43x that were mentioned, and many many more. Bring some ammo which will be much cheaper from the store and we can shoot all day. We have meat shoots for charity, and shoot skeet for fun or wager. We have pistol courses weekly. Spending $100 to borrow a pistol for 50 rounds just seems crazy to me.
Indoor range where I live in New Hampshire $25 for the day for the first person and $20 each addition person up to three people per lane. Shooting isn't cheap and you need practice as often as you can to be efficient at it.
I'm in Los Angeles County and it's $28 to shoot all day, $14 for additional shooter. No targets available at local store, so don't know what the range charges. I didn't see anything about ammo, but where I shot before, you had to use their ammo. I've got my own, but plan on going there this week, and hope I can use my own ammo. A year membership is only $225 a year (I think). My old gun is history, so I'll be breaking in my new Glock 19. Took it apart and it looks pretty dry, so I still need some oil. Just assumed it would be good out of the box.
$100 man, add another $100 and buy a gun. Also as beginners first time shooter a full size gun would be a better idea. No need to buy ear protection, rent them or get the free ones that every range gives. Same with ammo, target ammo is around 13-15. You should be able to rent a lane, pistol and ammo for 45-50 bucks
Let’s say I was from a middle eastern country and am on the U.S. to learn how to fly a small plane ( take-off only ) can I come in and practice shooting … pistols mostly in large caliber and of course tactical weapons with large capacity magazines ?
I live in Czechia and whenever I am in the US I want to shoot stuff we can't get here. So basically Hi points and cobra arms stuff they never have it for hire but I did once have a awesome guy over hear me talking about Hi Points at the range and go get his truck hi point for us to borrow. Now that's America.
@@MeetRobHi Rob. I’m a member at Parma Armory and I love the place. I can’t wait for the new additions to be completed. You have a great crew: Heather, Faye, Gene, Andre, Erik, Joe, Patrick, just to name a few. I see you every so often. Keep up the great work
you're buying eye and ear protection -- but the salesperson said you can't buy anything with an out of state ID -- so did he mean you can't buy a gun and ammunition with an out of state ID or did he mean you can't buy anything (including eye and ear protection) with an out of state ID you said you get one hour on the range -- but you have 50 bullets -- what happens if you're really slow and don't shoot all of them ? do you get a refund for the ones you didn't shoot ? do you have to give them back ? are you allowed to keep them and walk out with them ?
You cant buy any guns with an out of state ID, depending on what state you’re from! States that border each other where I’m at in West Virginia, has a reciprocity to buy rifles and shotguns with each other with the exception of Virginia.
For gun rentals for a beginner, you'd think they would have a popular striker fire (Glock 19), a popular hammer fire auto (maybe a sig P226), a revolver (S&W J frame), and a selction of movie guns - Dirty Harry "remove the finger prints" .44 Auto Mag, James Bond walther PPK, Snatch Vinnie Jones's 50 cal Desert Eagle, John Waynes True Grit Single Action Army...
$20 included Tax , and was rounded off ( up ) . $18/ 50rd generic 9mm not unreasonable for purchase at a gun range . You don't pay the same for a steak at a restaurant that you do at the grocery store . Ranges have to turn a profit , or they wouldn't be open for business .
I got a question, I'm from Germany (no Green Card or anything), and I used to shoot on Gun Ranges in several states (Cali, Texas, Nevada, Georgia, Florida), all I needed each time was my ordinary German ID or drivers lisense. But are there states where I not allowed to rent guns and buy ammo for use on the range as an alien without any kind of US stay permit except from a tourist Visa? Because sometimes I saw on a web page, "aliens or tourists welcome" and sometimes (tourists Visa or non US residence not allowed" Is this a kind of property rights or sometimes a state law?
Nice video! I have shot several times at Parma Armory. Great place. Would be great if you would consider opening/ establishing an outdoor range/ club in Northeast Ohio. West side area. A huge lack of decent outdoor range on west side.
My local does $25 for a lane for an hour, $10 for rental, BUT you can switch them out with no additional fee, $2 for eye and ear, and I think targets start at $1.25. I went to another place in my state and I dont remember how much it was for the lane, but I went with a friend and we each picked a gun. It was $15 each. I asked if we could trade out, and they said yes, but its another $15 per trade. Oh, and to hold up your targets, if you dont bring your own tape, they charge you a $1 for a strip of tape. I don't know what eyes and ears were, but all I know is that for two people for an hour and two boxes of 50 9mm, it was almost $200!
@@fivestarlimos Needless to say, we will not be going there again. Their customers didn't even pick up after themselves! We got to our station and we had to sweep, push the table back to the line (it was moved), and remove the previous targets. The place was appalling!
@@MeetRob Maryland! The first place is my local and I find their prices decent. But the other place, I have never been to a place that charged for the tape to put up targets or charged for each gun to rent.
I remember decades ago when I used to shoot every weekend. A box of 9mm FMJ for range shooting was $6! I just bought a new gun a few days ago. I'm sure I'll be shocked when I go to the range for the first time in decades!
In WA (Bellevue area)....most range require you be member, then additional fee to shoot 223/556.....then use their ammo. only. So lane cost + membership + AR lane + ammo. = $$$.
The range I got to is 25 an hour, 15 for 30 mins. Targets are about 2 dollars. I have my own gun and own ammo. If I want to do unlimited rental gun its an extra 15.
"Hi. I've never shot before... I'll need a target... and hearing protection... and eye protection... and ammo...and a rental... and a instructor...." 🤦♂️
You did a better job articulating what was going on than the employee lol. He even had his salesman voice on the whole time and answered your questions so basically. I basically died when he just handed you, a "first time shooter" the glock and then you had to put the chamber flag in and inspect the ammo. Good job carrying the interaction
Hey thanks, appreciate it. We get these questions daily so we want to show people before they come to the range and this video is very popular and people say they have watched it, so it’s great to see! Please like and subscribe for more great videos
Wish we had this in Canada. Sadly our government banned everything recently, looking forward to visiting on our US trip. This looks like a great facility!
Hot Shots in Daytona... $15 for an hour. Pretty sure ear & eye protection included. No firearm restrictions. Even better if you already own your own gun. And .22 ammo (CCI minimags) are stupid cheap. 100 rounds for just over $10.
In brazil I pay only for the ammo and targets, if you bacame a member of the range they give you a leasson on the gun that you gona use and the ammo has a little discount; 600 reais a year
Hey, I am from Russia, can I visit Brazil and shoot at a range as a tourist, what do you think? Also considering that we have Visa free travel with Brazil I can only provide a foreign Passport with no Visa?
If you don't come to the range with your own gun, many gun ranges with gun rentals WON'T let you rent a gun. Why? Suicides that's why. There's plenty of videos from gun ranges where the gun renter ends their life at a shooting range. Some ranges let you rent a gun only with two people there. I haven't heard about suicide pacts, but I'm sure even that has happened, but not as common as the solo sucide at the gun rental range.
Yeah, range by me won't rent if you come in solo without a gun. If you already have one or come in with another person then they allow it. Of course their range isn't great and their prices are high so despite them being a few blocks away I don't go there.
@@JackRR15 you buy gun for 1 of 3 reasons: 1. You want to protect someone (yourself included). Protection is born from love. 2. You want to end someone. Hate is the other side of the coin with love. 3. You love guns. See? Initial statement is correct for all 3 reasons.
I hate these indoor ranges. They are very boring and the cost is too high. I’d prefer being a member of a rod and Gun Club where you can shoot all year around.
It’s a very old-school thought of you, but it is what you like so enjoy the outdoor range. We have a massive population by us that cannot shoot outside because we are not allowed to so if you don’t wanna drive an hour away and you wanna shoot indoors for convenience
Why was the "customer" running the whole show and acting like an expert? Lmao. I get what you were trying to do but.. I won't say poorly.. but weirdly executed 😂 weird like that "love is why you buy a gun" sign.. ya know?
