Back with another Tokyo Ghoul video. In this video I'm covering Kaneki's death by Arima and the CCG and interpreting/ breaking down certain parts of it in the way I perceive them; hopefully you enjoy as this is entertainment first, analysis second. This is how Tokyo Ghoul's manga ended instead of ROOT A BUTCHERING IT.

I literally forgot about Tokyo Ghoul, and I used to be a huge fan, even read the manga in 2020. Seeing the return of the Fandom has reawakened what felt like a fever dream. 😂

Seriously, Kaneki's character is unparalleled imo and now that I'm an adult rereading this series I'm able to enjoy it so much more, and really understand what I'm seeing here. I liked him as a kid because I just found him cool, and now I enjoy him much more as an adult because he's so flawed yet strong. 20:45-22:00 I completely agree with you and I think that was the message the author was trying to show us the reader. You have to value yourself in not just everyone else. That also goes with his mom and what he taught him "It's better to be hurt than to hurt others. Nice people can be happy with just that."That why Rize appeared and challenged that logic in his mind when being tortured by Jason. Damn watching these TG videos makes me wanna binge read the manga again. Great summary and analysis again

This was my favorite manga of all time, and the first one I collected in it’s entirety. It hit so different to all other series at the time. The manga was so complex and beautiful, and scary and brutal. The end was so bittersweet. I hope the best for Sui Ishida.

This kinda reminds me of a saying that fits quite well with how everyone that wanted toyko ghoul to continue. "life is like a movie. It can end before the story is over with plots completely unresolved until the next person picks it up again to continue the story."

The immesurable amount of pain that Kaneki had ever experienced in years truly fucked him up as a whole but what's more special about his character trait is he perseveres no matter what life throws at him even though he's mentally unstable and cant keep being fully himself and have a life as a normal happy person. I think that's what Ishida-san is trying to show his theme is Perseverance.

I remember when a classmate got me into anime and I watched this series. I just couldn't understand why kaneki acted the way he did. The series still stuck with me and now I realize how those black and white tiles in the dream sequences also are a recurring dream of mine or just before I fall asleep I am falling by those. I guess it's time for me to come back and rewatch it so I can understand.

honestly, the more i listen to people talk about tg, the more i appreciate it. i've reread the series twice by now, and each time i do i notice something new, like furuta in around cp 20 of tg, many allusions to tarot cards like the tower and reverse lover in tg: re 125. there are so many little details that you just can't notice unless you read the series multiple times. each time i reread it i love it more and more.

Same with me. I found this series in 2014 (So almost 10 years ago now) at the earliest part of where my life started to change and I started sorting out the trauma from my early teen years. The pain of growing apart from some very close friends, the trauma I experienced at 13, the re-examining of myself and digging through my very scared mind trying to figure out who I was for the first time at 22-23 yrs old was so bad. Not to mention the nightmares I had as well. And aside from lots of liquor and music, This story was there through it all since my friends didnt bother trying to help. I dont even know the number of times I read this manga from beginning to end. All I know is I just latched onto Kaneki's character. Something Ive never done before, nor since.

At the end of og Tokyo ghoul I really thought Arima had killed Kaneki and it would have been the end of the story as a whole. 1. The protagonist would be dead. 2. There wouldn't be any ghouls living in Tokyo anymore . So the essence of the title itself would be gone. That was the CCG initial goal.

Am I the only one who likes the ending to Tokyo Ghoul Re: better? At least Kaneki got a happy ending as he’s married to Touka, raising their daughter Ichika together and has a son on the way. Sure there are some things that are left unresolved, but that’s the problem with a story of having too many characters. I only cared about Kaneki, Touka, Nishki, Kimi, Amon and Akira and their struggles. And speaking of which, at least Amon and Akira are back together and Nishki and Kimi are trying to create normal food that ghouls can eat without it being tasting awful.

Studio Perridot really screwed up both manga series by ignoring the themes of both stories and instead make more of an action Shonen instead of a horror manga with people dealing with grief, trauma, abuse and abandonment issues. At least the Chainsaw Man anime respected a lot from the manga’s core themes and moments.

Meaning if you dont take care of yourself how will you be able to take care of anyone else, if you dont help yourself in life how will you be able to help your loved one's and your family.
