Tottenham finished the season strongly last year. Major differences this year include that facts that Lloris is a year older, Son is seriously out of form, Kulusevski and Bantancur have been injured, the new players we've bought have not hit the ground running, poor results affecting everyone's confidence. Conte's choices of formation and first 11 hasn't always helped. All that said, a new defender or wing back and some more creativity could really help.
tbf, we've lost so many points due to mistakes. i know the football's not been great, but results should be better. that newcastle game: lost because of a mistake by hugo man utd away: lost because dier can't clear a ball arsenal at home: lost because lloris had shockers in both goals liverpool at home: mistake by dier again i know it's all ifs, buts, and maybes but these mistakes should not be accepted in a competition like the premier league. any other team would make mistakes like these once a season at most. but we seem to see these mistakes every single game consistently. an entirely new defense is needed. and lloris and dier are having nightmares every single game.
1.conte system need quality wingback who can change the game, currently the wing back are not doing that , they really need a right wing back. They need to sign pedro porro for sure 2.also need strong wingers like kulusuveski so they need to sign anthony gordon 3. Play pape matte saar more 4.sign skriniar for next season If this things done im sure they will finish top 4 this season and probably they win premier league next season
I agree 100% to this, but here's my thought (and yes, I'm a Korean but I'll try my best not to be biased). Like the boss mentioned at around 8:20~8:40 mark, Son isn't the player that was last season. Yes, Son lost his confidence and yes, he is lacking that energy and finesse we saw last season, but I think Perisic and Conte has some input in this. I'm not blaming the Croatian wingback for everything, since when were we a cross-reliant team with wingbacks way up the pitch, trying to score headers with Kane? We've all seen when Kane drops down to perform as a playmaking forward with Son and Kulu running out from wide to center, our attack looks lively than ever. Now with Conte using Perisic to cross the ball, Son's place as a get-in-behind, fast-paced forward movement is gone. Are we really going to just say "Son's form is terrible this season, let's bench him", when we're not even using Son's real strengths? In all honesty, I just hope that Son would recover his old self so that we can have our clinical attacking trio once again. #COYS
I'm sick to death of 3 at the back... if we played a normal system either a 4231 or 433. We would finish top 4. Imagine swapping out a CB for a creative midfielder... our front 3 would be a serious threat. Our current system only sees Kane dragging the whole team on his back. It's so frustrating 😔 as we currently can't score and can't defend.
I agree. I really like how 433 and 4231 play. Who would you sell and buy to fit those formations? Is there a certain manager you'd like to step in after Conte to play those formations?

We can play the lopsided 4-4-2 with Son. He pushes up to be the striker, Perisic moves to LM, Kulu moves to RM, Emerson to RB and Davies to LB. More defensive responsibility for Emerson, Davies as an orthodox LB and less defensive work for both Son and Perisic.
I think Conte is way to stubborn to swap his formation. 3 Person midfield i think would help the defense out and spread the ball. While helping the attacking players get into goal scoring positions . We depend on our Wingbacks way too much . Changing the formation would help the players.
You make a great case for the 3-5-2. The question is, why doesn't Conté switch to that system? Surely you can't be saying that you are a better tactician than he is. Or is it because he just hasn't got the personal to play that system, hence why sticks to 3-4-3?

In essence the overall tactics HAVE stayed the same. What’s changed from last year with those stats you’ve chosen is the addition of Perisic. His crossing is substantially better than the fullbacks we had last year so of course those stats change

Conte is using crossing via Peri as the primary option. Congrats to Conte for doing what all of the PL and many CL teams found impossible...n that is to neutralize Kane n Sonny, the most lethal duo of our time...possibly of all time. The problem we have now is clear. The older players who have been at the club for too long. They have been gret servants to the club but lack of competition in their positions and their feeling of entitlement is the problem. Fix this problem and you have a contending team. For a 352 we need a SMS type player.
Defensive is atrocious but nothing is done till now....that is why we keep letting opponents to score 1st for 10 games in a row...if defence n Hugo r not up graded we will still be shit till end of the season.

Nice dreaming, but the plan in this video works on the assumption that tactical systems that were successful in England in 16/17 and Italy in 21/22 will work in England in 23/24. Game in England has definitely moved on. Best teams are more fluid and dominate in transitions - more sophisticated that having goldilocks wing-backs who just convert from wingers to full backs for 90 minutes. Maybe with 400-500m investment in the squad it would work but that's never happening. Especially as you have no way of raising funds from sales.
