Special thanks to my wife for setting this project up and for my sister-in-law for filming the majority of it. The temporary shop for the tenugui is shop.lifewhereimfrom.com/ UPDATE 4: SOLD OUT. I seriously didn't think this many people would want to get their hands on one. Thanks everyone! There currently aren't any plans for doing a second run.

Simply breathtaking. If more heritage, artisan crafts were spotlighted in this way, then perhaps they would be kept alive for longer. Similar to other commenters, I have never purchased "merch" like this before, but I typically think of merch as mass-produced tat with a machine-stamped logo added. Less than halfway into the video, I paused it to see if there was an order link in the description. Score! THANK YOU FOR SHARING, as always. ❤

By watching anime, I notice that people in Japan (or at least school kids) bring their own hand towels or handkerchiefs to dry their hands after they wash their hands in bathroom sinks, instead of using disposable paper towels (or air driers). This true? Or has this practice been abandoned?

Of all the traditional crafts that need preserving in Japan, I've never for the life of me understood the printed/dyed fabric one (kimonos, towels, etc)... it produces an end-product indistinguishable from something made by a machine in a factory. I know it's special to the artisans but when you think about all the other dying arts in the country, no pun intended, this one really doesn't seem like a priority.

I've never even seen this channel until he showed me this video to explain why the towel was special, and I'm rarely on RU-vid, so does anyone want to buy it from me at cost? No shade to people that like this stuff. It's just not for me and I feel like it shouldn't be thrown in the trash if it was loved by others enough to sell out.
