Trees talk and share resources right under our feet, using a fungal network nicknamed the Wood Wide Web. Some plants use the system to support their offspring, while others hijack it to sabotage their rivals.

Suzanne Simard brought this to the worlds attention 20 years ago and the UK FC has done nothing since and still excludes myccorhizal fungi in new WGSs but happy to claw back funding from hard up landowners when the trees don't survive. The FC should including fungi in every aspect of forestry before we have no forests left under global warming

This might seem irrelevant to you but there's a tree (don't know species) whenever I pass from under it... flowers of that specific tree fall on me if there are any on it, I used to water it when I was a child, now many have grown around it, but I remember the one I used to water it's the old one among them.

ILLUMINATED 777 no where in the video did it claim these plants feel pain. There was no notion to protect, but by your careless response perhaps there really should be...
@amleshamm906
@amleshamm906 6 лет назад
Actually plants do feel pain ,you dont always need a nervous system to feel pain , like jellyfish , land carnivorous plants who can feel when a bug lands on them and move to catch it , some plants can move when being touched aka feel and move , others can`t move because they have sturdy trunks like you can`t move bones even if they feel pain, the process can happen but it`ll take years for them to lean away from harm , when they get infested , they raise their defences ,they send danger signals and ask help from other plants in the fungi network , studies have proven that plants like music , meaning that they can hear

shiva Joshi but you have to kill animals because there wouldn't be a habitat left for them if we let them over populate. Factory farming is another issue but hunting wild animals actually helps preserve habitats and help the environment

Humans have an anthropomorphism complex in which they assume anything that doesn't fit human characteristics such as emotion or or speaking is incapable of sentience, despite the vast intelligence they have--otherwise planet Earth wouldn't be where it is today. Humans truly think they're at the center of it all. Sad.

So how did the scientist manage to discover this one with out actually communicating with the trees ?
@SPACEMONKEY288
@SPACEMONKEY288 5 лет назад
i remember seeing one where they planted tree's next to eachother then some alone, poisoning both and the ones alone would die and the ones with neighbors would survive, because the other tree's would send itthe dying tree nutrients. there's all kinds of test and experiments they run like that to determine if something is happening. or through chemical signals. plants release chemical scents and it shows as signs of communication as well. like corn plants release a scent that attract wasp when caterpillars are eating there leaves. the wasp show up and kill them, even when you play the sound of a caterpillar chewing on a leaf the corn releases that scent to attract wasp. like it can hear or feel the vibration. plants are extremely sensitive beings.
