Will you please make a video about how Champ VA and VA insurance work with medicare. You seem to tell the truth and I want to be able to sort out what my wife and I are looking at as we become medicare age.

Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, and Tricare For Life is a PERFECT combination. Nothing else needed.

You can get a lot more benefits with an Advantage plan. on TFL and Advantage for 4 years, several maladies at home, ER and Urgent care in other areas, never paid a cent out of pocket or anything more than signed a form provider submitted. Last year between the Advantage plan paying $50 a month of my Part B premium also got $1500 Dental, Vison exam and $200 for glasses, hearing check, $300 OTC, and peace of mind of having $50,000 overseas emergency care and evacuation coverage along with several other benefits I didn't use; saved me well over $3000. Maybe not needed but sure nice to have.

Thank you. What is the difference between community care and Trircare. If you already have a video explaining this just put in a link. Here is another dumb question. I thought tricare was military insurance because I am a veteran.

You missed the part where in order for Tricare to continue after age 65 you must have (pay) Medicare A/B coverage, if you don't Tricare ends at age 65.

You are so right - Tricare does not give you a choice - Medicare must be your primary insurance - you can not deny Medical and continue on Tricare for Life - if you do - Tricare drops you - so you have to choice

Thank you for pointing this out - it is correct that you must enroll in Medicare Part B at 65 in order to remain TRICARE-eligible and get TFL.

Thank you! I didn’t know and trying to do research. Chatting with Medicare was not very helpful. They said I need to talk to tricare. So tomorrow I’ll call them.

@@talapeanutbutter4250 I did a lot of reading up, the Medicare folks are probably mad you get Tricare For Life (TFL) free...so you don't need to pay for their crappy supplements (F, G, etc.). Only one you might want is the drug supplement if you want to use a local pharmacy. VA pharmacy will not honor non VA RX from non VA doctors.

Hello - it is wise to sign up for Medicare as soon as possible to avoid penalties. Additionally, Medicare provides coverage at civilian facilities whereas you generally need to visit a VA facility to use your VA coverage. You need to sign up for part b of Medicare and pay the premium to get tricare for life. Also, being retired military doesn’t automatically qualify you for enrollment in the VA.

Here is what she doesn’t tell you, 1. Cost 2. Advantage vs Disadvantage 3. Moving to an advantage plan, requirement to return to standard Medicare 4. Advantage plans disapproval % of care. And i can go on. If you have tricare for life like i do not get on an advantage plan. Your out of pocket will be less and you and your doctor makes the decision about your health care. Keep in mind these advantage plans are private insurance companies. If you do not have Tricare these advantage plans may work for you. To my fellow veterans stay away from advantage plans

In my opinion if you have Tricare For Life all you need is Medicare A & B. iF ANY mEDICARE SALESMAN wants you to enroll in Medicare Advantage RUN Away AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
