Twitter was born in 2006 out of the remnants of a failed San Francisco Internet radio startup. Since then, it’s become a megaphone for the president, a tool for social change and a running log for recording our global history.
Twitter has removed an image tweeted by President Donald Trump for violating the company’s copyright policy.
Trump’s tweet showed a picture taken by Damon Winter for the New York Times in 2015. But the president had turned it into a meme with the words: “In reality they’re not after me they’re after you.”
It ends off with: “I’m just in the way” at the bottom.
The tweet now just shows a “media not displayed” notice after Twitter removed the picture.
“Per our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorized representatives,” a Twitter spokesperson told CNBC.
“Twitter responds to copyright complaints submitted under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”),” the company’s copyright policy says.
The New York Times filed the takedown notice, a company’s spokesperson said.
Twitter has been cracking down on Trump’s tweets that violates its policies.
Last month, the president posted a viral doctored video of two kids. Twitter slapped it with a “manipulated media” tag and the video was eventually removed after a copyright claim from one of the child’s parents.

It's a GREAT OBSERVATION ground to study what lowlife, stupid, poor, and unsuccessful think to silently and shameless do and politically side the EXACT OPPOSITE as PROCESS OF ELIMINATION of what not to do and be IF you don't want to be like them, because rich and successful people aren't the types to reveal their secrets for threats to their higher-tier status position which is limited at the top in society aka not everybody can be a CEO or KING so you have to have more stupid people in this world.

@@techworld3043 elon musk is not the founder of tesla, tesla electric car company was already founded by 2 engineers, they were working on a roadster powered by AA batteries, Elon musk then bought tesla in 2004 i think. Both of the original founders were pushed out of the company in later years.

After being on Twitter for almost 10 years, I finally disabled and deleted my account today. Thanks Trump. You raised the bar so high that when they removed the star of the show, the show could no longer survive on it's own and immediately crashed to the ground. Kudos for the instant power move.

I am very skeptical of how social media works today. I'm on FB and LinkedIn (family, old friends/school friends, colleges), but I couldn't dream of being on Twitter and the like. Social media for me is more closed forums and similarly specialized communities, be it car interest, interest in photography etc. Twitter is for me "the whole world" with everything this entails of special interests, covert interests, political propaganda, stupid opinions, ignorance, idiotic irony, commercial marketing (direct/covert) - you name it :(

Imagine if there were a Twitter but people associated themselves to their colleges and you can join groups within different universities whether you were a current student or alumni or something that’d be cool. my space was destroyed not by its creator but by the company that brought it to literally wasted its potential for 'short term gain'. These practices happen with multiple of the local newspaper company which also resulted in their closure leading to why America only has few/main steam media now. :'( Missed Myspace too before it became flooded with ADs.

When loptop computers are started and cellphones and internet or WiFi was introduced, those Apps are the ones examples how to use internet or wifi, so that everyone choose what to use if you email (write a letter to somebody) yahoo was if you like to chat with friends, and others was like pictures and videos for where you like to take pictures or memories like a photo albums in everyone had before, and some apps are for those who like entertainment or shows. ( But somebody inserting something that was fired started that i don’t know ) .

As a historian, how do you access all these entities called "tweets" from (for example) the account "realDonalTrump" and the account "realRealDonaldTrump" from twitter.com? How can the historian verify the correctness & validity of 1) exact number of entities 2) origin and 3) issue date of these entities called "tweets"?

Twitter and FB clearly benefited financially and were even paid in rubles and allowed rampant disinformation and misinformation to proliferate on their platforms and wrecked elections in the U.S. and probably other places too. The damage and fallout for the U.S. 2016 elections will be felt for decades.
