How Two Devoted Fans Revived the Warlord CCG 

I know nothing about this game - but I’m excited that such dedicated people are picking up the torch of a game they love and are carrying it forward for other community members!

I've never heard of Warlord, but the passion shown in this documentary makes me want to get in on it

I dabbled in Warlord on the side in the early 2000's when Magic was my main game. Loved the unique take on mechanics for a CCG and had a ton of fun with this game. Excited to hear about this making a comeback. I'm in!

This was such a great game, a lot of fond memories of testing decks to beat the first overlord Qor-Teth. The challenge system was super unique and cool, congrats for resurrecting this wonderful game!

for years my collection is saved in my cellar. Happy to c this revived. i loved the dice mechanic. In magic the most expensive deck always won. I entered a trounament and won with a starter dek because of my dice rolls. It was so cool that casual players would have a chance at competitive games as well.

This game was a big part of my life. I was gutted when it was discontinued. The scene around me quickly dried up. So subsequently I sold off my collection…. Biggest gaming regret of my life. I am so on board for this iteration….. no question!!!!! This game is so so good 😊

WHAT! I have two cards printed in the fan submitted set! Rubble Gargoyle and Gaol! My favorite game as a kid. PUMPED!!!

I have soo many fond memories of this game. My best was Origins 2003 when a friend of mine and myself came in 2nd at the team championship. He was playing a dragon based merc deck and I was playing Astral deck (Quel'Sarr I think was the Warlords name). That same Origins I nabbed a Dragon Lord and I think I still have it unsigned somewhere. I remember spending the entire 4 days of the con in the card hall, only leaving for food and sleep (very little I might add lol). I'm very excited for this game to come back out. I would tell people when I was playing MTG heavily about what got me into playing CCG/TCG's was Warlord.

Congrats to both Joshua and Woodrow following their passion; I'll be following along on the project. But Covenant team, as much as I love seeing Zach & Steven sit across the table and play almost anything, the quality of this piece is exhibiting the growing mastery of both the artistry and the technical expertise of quality content you guys are gaining. Proud for both Kingswood and TC.

God I grew up with this game. My friend group all moved from MTG to Warlords when this game came out. This is awesome. I still have a Logan vs Krun battle box!

I bought and really enjoyed the first set with my brother and a good friend. We didn't buy anymore sets and forgot about it. Those cards are stashed in storage somewhere. I should go look for them

I worked at a game store in the early 2000s that sold some warlord. It was probably my favorite card game to play although we never ran any tournaments and it never saw much sales in our area. A coworker and I would split the packs based on faction so I only really had elves and dwarves. I still have my couple of decks kicking around.

I loved play testing for 4th ed. The Chosen really reinvigorated my love for the game. Nuclear Winter will always be my favorite deck

Love this format, mini doc. I would watch this type of video on any card game. I feel like dead card game would be great subjects because the people who worked on them would probably love to tell their story.

Man, I wish this was the story of L5R almost. Instead it sadly got milked to death. Most don't even remember the other comparable games, Legend of the Burning Sands or 7th Sea.

one side of me: Yeah a old game which was played here and had some interesting mechanics gets revived. other side: Meeeh they make a TCG out of it.

Phoenix lost the rights because 4th Edition was a terribly run mess. The guy was way in over his head. The product was terrible. 4th Edition is a stain on Warlord’s history.
