That's a common problem that a lot of pitchers have all the way up through high school. They don't drive off their back leg. They just fall off the mound and are using almost all upper body. And you're probably losing 5-10 mph.

Yea I pitched from little league to highschool and at age 13 I played travel baseball for coaches that played pro or college and so I have tons of experience. But if you think about it pitching is more like hitting in a way because just hitting you have to have stay balanced. But when you throw a baseball you always want your throwing arm at a 45 degree angle and ending up in an L position and you want your release point to be at your ear. But with pitching you plant with your right or left foot and you pivot the back foot with the laces turned and you push off with your back foot. One drill that I would do is if I was in the swimming pool I would take my back foot and put it up against the side of the pool. Then I would turn my foot over as if I had the laces of my foot turned and I would push up against the side of the pool. So yea there are drills that you could use and if your a pitcher then I would use these drills before you pitch or in practice

Im a yankees fan even though he wasnt the best in the ws you can tell that this kid has talent. He reminds me a lot of randy johnson, once he gets better at control he will be even more dominant.

Not sure why people are saying Glasnow is drop and drive. That’s not what he’s doing. D&D, Tall and Fall are mechanically inefficient.

Curious, would this work for fielders throwing? Ex. Weak armed outfielders that can’t be placed in right field, or second basemen who don’t have the arm strength to play shortstop.

First he is not dropping and driving, he is simply keeping flexion in his rear leg and releasing into foot strike allowing better ground force transfer up the kinetic chain,,,second a new healthy tendon and the rehab it takes to get back on the mound will no longer limit the velocity of a over worked ucl. But his mechanical changes will help keep his arm healthier.
