I'm still puzzled at how Anderlecht fans and board were not convinced by Kompany's outstanding job. The club was at shambles and he managed to keep them competitive
The board thought the team could have done better, during his period as manager.. but they now realise (I hope) that the team sucks. Kompany made the team look better than they actually were
Kompanys knowledge and connection with a rising Belgian League known for producing talent at affordable prices definitely has a place in this video. I can assure Burnley fans that Lyle Foster is a physical beast with big amounts of potential and goalscoring ability.
Yeah, the belgian league is severely overlooked for talent in the transfer market. But people who know the league know there is some cheap diamonds in the rought there.
@@superduperfreakyDj Don't think it's overlooked. The Belgian league loses loads of talented players every year. Clubs from the top 5 leagues regularly go shopping in the Belgian league.
Brilliant take on VK and Burnley. Lets hope we can sign some of the loan players, they've been terrific. The prem will be harder that's for sure, but hopefully we can compete and challenge against the best, either way in VK we have a brilliant young manager and team. Whatever happens they'll have our support. UTC
PEP RELEASE ANOTHER BEAST !!! ARTETA , KOMPANY , TEN HAG , XAVI , NEXT GUNDOGAN , KDB , WOW THIS IS AMAZING !!! WHAT I CAN SAY TO YOU MR KOMPANY.. ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE !!!
Thoroughly enjoyed playing them at Portman Road, one of very few teams to actually come to our ground and try to play football this season. Looking forward to the replay, two managers that will go far.
Good to see that Kompany has a style, a philosophy, is able to man manage these players, able to develop youngsters etc. When I look at former top players like Pirlo, Lampard, Seedorf and Gerrard I'm still clueless on their style. Its like they're just trying whatever they can.
Pep's students Rocking everywhere Ten Hag, Arteta now Kompany...just like Cryuff he's influencing football massively already most Premier League clubs want to play possession game, positional play, passing from the back Pep introduced this to the PL.
@@kennynguyen6246 the counters are known, defensive counter attacking football e.g. Conte, Mourinho (spurs have a strong record against city compared to most top sides) or Klopp style heavy metal high press (winning Liverpool a title against City 2018/19 season). But ultimately the best way to sustain dominance over a course of many games is pep style positional football.
Pep's has had a hand in Arteta and Kompany. Unsure if he and Vieira were close or nah since Vieira was the coach of the City academy team. Mark of a GOAT manager is not only the success he has in his own managerial career but also paving the road for others that come after him. You say he can't do it without money or in lesser teams, but through Arteta and Kompany he's showing you different. Gundogan has also started coaching the Man City academy. And now Vizeh is happy watching the new brand of football Burnley are playing 😂
Peps got his own coaching tree that teams are gonna start hiring regularly due to the time they’ve spent under pep just like they regularly do in American Football.
xavi as well. Erik Ten Hag also worked under him at Bayern as academy coach. I keep telling people that whilst mourinho will be remembered as a winner, pep will not only be remembered as a winner but his philosophy will be taught in schools and will withstand the test of times. Mind you, he's only 52 and ten hag is older than him but it seems as if pep has been around for 20 years.
Guardiola had a hand in Arteta, Kompany and Ten Hag who was with him at Bayern Munich. In fact you'll find all the people associated with Guardiola play a similar way. Basically they copy what they've learnt from Guardiola.
Its key to note that peps biggest inspiration was cruyff and cruyff also had alot of managers go on to be successful after playing under him. So really with pep we are truly seeing a modern cruyff. As much as people criticize pep he has had a massive influence amongst Europe especially here in England. You now see so many clubs here in England wanting to pass out from the back, even in non league. Almost every coach or player thats go on to manage after coaching/playing under him have go on to be somewhat successful. Ten hag is said to be a massive fan of pep and learned so much from pep after managing bayern Munich B whilst pep was bayern Munich manager
How Kompany has turned Burnley around is staggering. For so long Dyche had them playing truly dreadful football which simply wasn't working towards the end. They'll be a much more positive part of the PL next season.
Dyche dealt with the hand he was dealt, Kompany's entrance came with a massive club and team ovehaul allowing for a change in playing style. TBF, that's also a credit to Kompany's teams scouting and the Owners' for backing him
@@066kshitizvsingh4 Sorry, but how the hell do you call Burnley a massive club?, and also a missive ream?. We had hardly anyone in the team, and Burnley is not a massive club. What VK has done is nothing short of a miracle. I love it being a Burnley fan since Dyche got sacked cause we now play the football Burnley is all about, but i guarantee we aint a massive club, or have a massive team....Think someone is deluded
Kompany has also been given way more resources than Dyche ever had and the Premier League is a completely different ballpark from the Championship. Kompany’s done a great job, but don’t disrespect Dyche like that. Most under appreciated manager in English football
@@will_from_pa Dyche ain't under appreciated. If anything, he's severely overated. It's no surprise that since his Burnley sacking not one club has gone anywhere near him.
I always thought he was a very smart player due to his humongous head. He looks like Megamind. Mark my words.. he will be one of the most sought after coaches
A proper target man would help with attacking corners and crosses though, whilst more height in the team would inevitably help defend corners and set plays.
Great video. The transformation has been amazing for this team & the town is now rocking. Vinny has changed our approach but can also say Dychey was a legend & wish him all the best at Everton.
I always thought it could have gone either way for Vincent kompany at Burnley. Either a total disaster or an inspired appointment.Thankfully it looks like the latter.
Have you seen the latest episode of the overlap part 2 or 3 they mentioned west brom having one of the leagues coveted managers that play the “right way” you know like possession based, build up from the back, etc. .. but I can’t seem to remember his name. The hype is so some mush so that they mentioned west brom are thought to finish mid table or earn one of the European football spots for next season! EDIT: disregard what I said about where west brom will finish I just saw they’re nearer to leaving the league than earning European football next season 😅
Clarets battered Bournemouth away a few weeks ago, don't worry about XG, they'll be fine - Kompany knows what is required in P, he has zero experience of the Championship so this season was a bigger concern. Nobody had heard of Benson or Zaroury 6 months ago, Kompany & Co can clearly find hidden gems and as long as they continue to do Burnley will be fine
Would love kompany to take sambi on loan from us so he can learn his trade in the championship and stay with them for the season when they are in the prem. he has potential to be a great player he just needs the experience in English football.
Dont be fooled the championship, and the prem is totally two different leagues, do you rem norwich, all this wonderful football in the championship up to the prem and down again , huddlesfield shefield, swansea all of them ,
Great video fellas. If you haven't, could do a video on David moyes on why he is having a difficult time at west ham. I'll argue, there's talent in the squad but that hasn't translated into performance. Same for brendan Rogers. His leicester team was brilliant in the first half yesterday, then crumbled. Cheers.
Burnley will be big trouble for the bottom half of the EPL, the better teams may rout them once or twice. Overall the fans are pretty happy, good football back on the Turf.
It's the teams in the bottom half of the table that you need to beat anyway. Vincent kompany isn't naive. He knows that the Premier League is a big step up from the Championship. I'm sure him and his staff will have ideas of what they can do to be competitive.
How is football in UK "white dominant"? There's a much bigger % of non-whites on the pitch than in the country's population (less than 10% incl mixed at the recent census).
@@peterbarker10 sorry Peter barker I should have emphasised white dominance in coaching!!! As its pretty obvious that most footballers are men of colour!
So what has kompany done with a team only relegated last season with a massive cash failure bonus. Six players loaned in worth 37 million. He’s a genius, worked bloody miracles
I just feel like it’s a new Burnley team, I know Burnley needs time to get new players in and sell the players who are going to play for good team in the premier league so with that bear in my mind I never thought Kompany is going to get results, now they are at the moment and that’s because Kompany knows the players at his time in Belgium.
xG whilst a good descriptor, it is not a true predictor. It doesn’t take into account things like game state, the compound effect of multiple chances and the laws of average- hell even the confidence you get from being top of the league. If you’re creating more, you are going to score more no matter the xG. And when you have quality players who are above average at the level you will outperform xG as it is an average, which clumps the average with the exceptional. Eddie Howe says football is about moments, it certainly isn’t about averages- and we’ve had a hell of a lot of moments already which comes with confidence. As for set pieces, this video was obviously ignoring the prospect of a fit Scott Twine. A player who has suffered with injury, but is that specialist as shown in league one and last night against West Brom. As for the defensive work, the start of the season has affected the overall statistics. If you could isolate these statistics after the World Cup break, you’d see a very different picture. Jordan Beyer has been phenomenal, and with the signings of two more promising internationally capped CBs we will get better with time. We’ve also played two premier league sides this year, and weren’t embarrassed. We missed crucial chances against the full first team of Manchester United and held the ball exceptionally well for most of the game. And we whooped Bournemouth who are struggling, but showed their class in the championship. Now for the question of our club debt, it’s more than half paid already. And no doubt will have been boosted by the teams success as ticket revenues are actually up from last year, and the club shirt has been a hit (amongst other smart dealings by the board). We’ve invested close to 30 mill from the 60 from player sales, and we’re not done yet it seems. I’d say the project as a whole is in the middle of a Brighton and Brentford model. And hopefully we can kick on. No side can match us this season (and I’m convinced we will whoop Sheffield United at home).
Yes because it's in the Championship and they one best teams in it. Let's see how Kompany fares in EPL next season. Style and results and whether can keep them up if he does I be impressed. Sean Dyche played attacking football in the Championship with Burnley so did Newcastle under Beneitez in the Championship. Both played direct defensive football because didn't have budget or quality of players keep it up in the EPL. All depends on quality of players and budget your wondering under. Eddie Howe played attacking football at Bournemouth in football league and EPL had bigger budget then Newcastle before takeover and had much bigger budget then Dyche at Burnley. Money matters in football when you got healthy budget and competitive wage bill work.
Agreed. As an Everton supporter watching Dyche the last few weeks, he clearly knows how to win games and squeeze out as much as possible from each player. He spent nearly a decade at Burnley with zero budget and was able to bring stability. If he keeps Everton up this season with DCL being the only productive target man striker, it would be quite spectacular. Wish VK the best, but if Burnley gets promoted the real test will be playing in the EPL.
@TheToffyzStudios Definitely I don't buy into the media hype on Kompany. Yes he has done brilliantly at Burnley but they are in the second division and got one largest budgets and best players cause they gonna be favourites go back up. Sean Dyche will do well at Everton if given time but with your owner not sure he sacks managers left right and centre. Thought you should of never sacked Koeman he was a really good manager. Ended up at Barcelona and as Holland manager so he couldn't of being that bad. SA wasn't a good fit for your personality wise to much of a big head. Marco Silva was average so was Roberto Martinez. RB was wrong fit with Liverpool connections and all that which was wrong move begins with. However with Sean Dyche feels different like perfect fit for long term stability if given time and tools and hopefully recruitment gets sorted out as amount money you spent you should of never being in a relegation battle. Think long term you should copy Brighton formula for recruitment. Buy up and coming talented players for peanuts and sell them for lots of money. Not rubbish from Arsenal that come with big egos and huge wages. Walcot and other player name escapes me.
He's done well you can't knock him. But a bit like Middlesbrough the better players in the team are on loan from Premier league clubs It's a worry for next season cause some reason the on loan never come back. Or is that because you can't loan players to fellow Premier league teams
Some good analysis but lots of just looking at statistics and drawing conclusions. We don't keep possession for possession sake - the number is high because a lot of teams sit in against us so we're naturally going to have a lot more of the ball - if given a choice we'd like to advance the ball towards the goal quickly - just not recklessly. In the PL we will be well suited to counter some teams quickly, no issues there.
The disrespect towards dyche is unreal , man didnt have much resources to begin with unlike kompany . I truly believe dyche will save everton from relegation and can also launch them to top 15
I always say to my pals when they preach xG. Whether it’s Messi or Ashley barnes on the pitch, they’re still measured by the same xG. And it also doesn’t take into account the quality of defenders, etc etc etc.
@@jamesturner2914 also, the player presented with a chance.. Did he just suffer a knock and is still winded? Was there a sudden gust of wind? Did the ball bobble just before striking it? Did he just miss an easier chance and lacks confidence? Is there something in his eye? Did he just spot his wife in the stand talking to the girl he's cheating on her with? I'm being frivolous, clearly. But my point stands; there are so many things that can't be measured it renders any measurement of the things that can be, all but meaningless. Funny how often Burnley fans were told 'you're over-performing re: XG' during the Dyche era. Took seven years for the 'experts' to be proven right. Meaning judged across all the seasons we were in the prem, the data was exposed as nonsense...
Another problem with xG is the goalkeeper. It is much easier to score against Jim from next door than Prime Courtois but xG doesn't take the ability of the keeper into account. Post-Shot xG is a better measure as it measures the actual shooting ability of a player, a formula like PsxG-xG is better than just xG as there is nothing you can do about a really good keeper. PsxG can also be used to measure goalkeeping performance as well
Its not BS, because teams cant overachieve constantly season after season, its what happened with Leicester e.g. they were underachieving before the World Cup compared to their XG, but they finally started scoring the chances they shoudve and now they are already in a much better position Im not saying its a 100% accurate and everybody should follow the XG, but it is a clear indicator of how your team and the players are performing
At the time of writing, Top and 19 points clear of the play offs in January... now you're saying we have 0 prem level players? Seems you've not watched Burnley play fella.
As a burnley fan I agree with everything said except for the comment on vk making players fitter Dyche only played players who where 100% fit and I do not think that VK has made the players he inherited fitter
I get that Burnley have been doing absolute bits in the Championship but I'd worry about them staying in the Premier League when promoted Swansea are the only possession based team I remember staying in the Premier League when prompted. Not to mention all the loaned players who are going to go back to their clubs and he can only loan one player from Man City when in the Premier League
I would say Brentford and Fulham try to play a similar style. As did Brighton and Crystal Palace …. Not exactly the same of course but still play on the ground 👍
When you say we can only have 1 player from man City loaned to us next season...... That's exactly what's happening now, Harwood - Bellis is the only loan player we have from Man City
