What i do is is flush the cleaned out gutter with a garden water hose to get rid of the small sludge left over which often happens when cleaning gutter on wet days. Get yourself a fine mesh garden sieve to separate the water and the debri..

Great job done Gary, you keep up the good work. I use camera for gutter surveys, and to check there clean after cleaning, also send recordings to the customer, think they like that as part of the service. But I’ve always got ladders on standby 👍

Cheers Dave. I may invest in a camera through time but I like to get up there and check my work afterwards. I agree you definitely need ladders on stand by just incase there’s any issues. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻

Great video showing a full clean start to finish 👌 have you ever had anyone ask to scrub the insides so its spotless?! Or someone inspect it before leaving?
@Weirjetwashing
@Weirjetwashing 6 месяцев назад
Hi mate. Thanks. I’ve had a couple of people ask about scrubbing them but we advertise it as gutter clearing not cleaning and explain the process when they ask for a quote. As for inspecting it we make sure it’s clear before leaving so if they go up and check there’s nothing for us to worry about.

The blue filters could do with a draw string, they are so difficult to get on without tearing. Tip, put some coloured electrical tape on the bottom pole so it's easy to find in the bag. Ideally start at the downpipes so you are not pushing debris towards them and causing blockages, plus stick your nozzle into the top of the downpipe and check for suction at bottom of downpipe. An action camera really helps see as you go. Just recovering from a bad day gutter emptying, was full of bits of mortar that a dodgy roof put there when they redid the ridge pointing - looks like he just disposed of all the old mortar in the 3 sides of the gutter. Real pain as too big to vac up, so each bit has to be individually sucked to nozzle the dropped. Would have been sooooo much easier from ladder but I don't do ladders! Great video.

Cheers ched. Great tip about the tape 👍🏻. I try and do as much as I can without a ladder but I’ve done enough jobs in the last month to know that the gutter vac doesn’t always get the job done and the customer is paying to get the gutters emptied. I just place the ladder at whatever area is a struggle and give it a quick empty. I’ve seen so many people get caught out without a ladder but each to their own. I don’t have an issue climbing a ladder if I’m honest. Julia from gutter vac seen the video and messaged me to say they will be sending me a new blue filter for free. Their customer service is brilliant 👍🏻

@@Weirjetwashing True a ladder would help but I'm just not taking the risk for a few ££. When I was young I used to go up triple rope pull ladders without hesitation. GVS customer service is great.

Do you regret not upgrading to the carbon mate? Or has the aluminium been solid? Once used just get a bucket of water to flush through?

@@lukehilton5690 I have both and prefer the aluminium the carbon one blocks all the time. More expensive and more hassle in my opinion. I’d chose aluminium every time when buying a new one. I just flush it through with a bucket of water after each use

Point of gutter vac is to avoid ladders. Invest in a recording camera!
@Weirjetwashing
@Weirjetwashing 9 месяцев назад
Hi jimmy. The point of a gutter vac is to make the job quicker and avoid any mess. If you had enough experience with using one you would know that on many jobs you will need ladders to take off downpipe as their could be a blockage inside or sometimes you knock of end caps and have to put them back on. Not to mention spending £400 on a camera is absolute madness when you have a ladder there. Many jobs using a gutter vac you will get caught out if you don’t have a ladder and if you want to guarantee your work a ladder is absolutely necessary in my opinion 👍🏻
@jimmy..9532
@jimmy..9532 9 месяцев назад
Hi spending £400 will look cheap if you fall. Agree use a ladder if req but working at heights when if can be avoided is the way to go. And i have same vac with carbon poles. Work smarter not harder!! You started with nothing just determination well done on the progress. Wish you the best

I use both camera and ladders. Ladder checks on lower levels and also downpipe unblocks and checking conservatory
@Weirjetwashing
@Weirjetwashing 9 месяцев назад
@@neilgreen9285 I agree Neil. Much safer not using ladders but if you knock and end cap off or can’t unblock a downpipe then you are not offering the best services to the customer and and they can’t be expected to fit an end cap that you have knocked off which will eventually happen 👍🏻
