It’s very refreshing to see a couple who decorates according to their personal taste instead of hiring an interior designer who would turn their house into a bland, designer show home. It’s fun to watch your progress too.👏❤️👏
After 40 years of being in our home we are doing a refurbish quality always pays in the end saving money time & the environment…,,, big fan of farrow & ball
I think you both choose such lovely things for your home. You take your time too & never rush a job, my husband doesn't believe your German because the way you talk, but I think you speak lovely. I love your videos & look forward to the next one take care x
I feel exactly the same about decorating keeping the colours, textures and styles according to our personal taste. I cannot understand people who redecorate so often; what a waste of time and money. I much prefer your style, and the two of you work beautifully together; in my case, I couldn't do that. Thank you for sharing your ideas and for letting us come into your beautiful home.
I think they are absolutely adorable.Wondering if Joerg has a single brother, because here in America 🇺🇸 men are not good like that .I just think its so cute how you two cook together travel together and Do home projects .I so think Kristen Joerg get the awards for the most adorable both of you are so lovely. They really should give you your own television show it would be a good inspiration on married couples.
Joerg is very brave for climbing that ladder it looks quite high my husband has climb quite a lot of high ladders over the years he is a bit passed it now you are making your home look lovely take care
You Kirsten and Joerg are a breath of fresh air. You are so sweet and relaxing to watch. I love your English period house and your eye for detail. I am on the opposite end of the spectrum, very modern but I appreciate your taste very much. Keep safe and keep up the videos...... any videos. Xx
When you flipped over the striped fabric it actually looked better than the right side of the fabric against the Darcy wallpaper. You are doing such a beautiful job on your house. That was a scary ladder Joerg was on!
I think a plain blue with a sheen to it would look lovely and match the wallpaper. You two have such good taste and always seem to agree on everything. Or maybe almost agree.🤔. Joerg, you do a very good job at painting. I love all your choices and buys.
Hi Kirsten and Joerg, my grandads property had the most wonderful original ceiling Roses but they where real, you can tell with the bought ones as they are not as prominant and thick, the Roses where more wider thicker and stood out more against the ceiling, Originals are the best but I think you can buy them today maybe in antique seller or something but you will notice the difference, I loved my grandads house dating back to 1880 with all the quirky doors and ceilings and old wood bannisters it is how I grew up surrounded by quality and I look for this in a house now all these specific features....There was also a lovely arch at the beginning of the stairs it was so intricate in detail and lovely...I love what you do always liking and living in the past I am having a saturday night catching up with all video I missed by not discovering you and it has been a good night very relaxing....I just bought today a lovely cherry blossom serving dish by royal doulton for 3.00 pounds bargain at my local charity shop...it is very nice indeed...and perfect quality I can't wait to find a house that I can bring all this to one day still looking....but your house looks wonderful and I am really into the wallpaper of william morris...did you know William Morris designs it is in public domain and not copyrighted so anyone can use his design to print table cloth, wallpaper everything.... I could make mugs with his design it is there for everyone to use commercially nowdays and many other. What some people do is go to public domain and download for example matisse art and they download it and print it and put it in picture frame dosen't cost much...however I do like going to antique places myself.
I really like your choice of runners - the colorful one. I think you should follow your gut instinct. When you truly love something I don't think you will ever regret it. It will bring you joy each time you look at it.
I'm not sure if you already had purchased. But, the colorful one is definitely you both and I would smile every time I opened the door coming home! Lol
Love this video. I would love to see maybe a typical day from a.m. (what you have for breakfast, running errands, going to the corner shop, making dinner/tea).
Watching some of your older decorating videos. Here in America so many folks are not as meticulous about their choices as you all are. They settle for “cheap but effective” (and it looks that way😉). I love love love your choices! Very thoughtful and beautiful! I really really love that William Morris wallpaper in the hallway. It has been fun watching your decision process…
You might want to try Brunschwig & Fils fabrics and wallpapers - they are high end and pricey but high quality and absolutely gorgeous. Scalamandra and Schumacher also have beautiful fabrics and wallpapers.
My favourite is also the colourful one but I believe, in the long term, your second choice is best. The first takes your eye away from everything else. Thanks for another charming video.
I agree that you need to choose what you love and carefully so you will not waste your time and effort to redecorate again. I liked the solution you came up with putting an architrave!😊
As soon as I got your notification, I run to the kitchen, make myself some tea ☕️ and settle in to enjoy your vlog. I get so much inspiration from your decorating choices ❤️
I like the runner with the various colors, it will tie all of your colors together. I would recommend painting your stair banister and rails white. I can’t help inserting my opinion I hope you don’t mind, I’m an interior designer.
Kirsten & Joerg, you are both so endearing , your vlogs captivate me in the most delightful way Thank you for all the tips on home decorations , how thrilling for you to realize your dreams And I love your enthusiasm for the colorful stair carpet .. Mary Canada 🇨🇦
Loved all your beautiful purchases. Loved the colourful striped runner & stair rods & the lovely brass light switches & knobs ❤️ my husband & I are the same. We take our time, save & invest in good quality furniture & items that will last instead of wasting money changing things every few years. Thank you for sharing. Have a fab weekend. Love to you both. 🌈
Wow Joerg has a lot of patience painting with that tiny roller! I use the biggest one I can hold up. I am glad I’m not the only one who still buys wallpaper in this day and age. I always use blue flowers for our bedroom too. I figure blue makes it look more masculine so my husband isn’t stuck in a girl’s room. Plus I love blue!
Hahah he is actually so so quick with it though and he prefers the smaller rolls when working with Edward Bulmer or Farrow & Ball paint as it creates the best results we found out.
I'm so busy working on our house at the moment but it was lovely to sit down with a coffee this morning and watch this. We have a 1930's house with quite a lot of original features but sadly some had gone (one of which I was responsible for and am very cross with myself about), we are about to replace all our plug and light fittings with bakelite ones and have ordered one set like you did just to try them for sizing, we've gone for reproduction rather than original, even though you can get hold of them, as it is too dangerous to mess about with electrics, we are replacing all our pendants light fittings with period ones too and they come with the gorgeous fabric flex instead of plastic covered wiring. I agree with you about taking time to research and think things through, I changed my mind about a dozen times over our bedroom paint, I was going to have wallpaper but decided to paint and make our fireplace and stripped flooring the main focal point, I've showed my husband so many variations of white paint I know he isn't even listening anymore. I'm looking forward to your next installment.
I think the wall in the landing, where you will put the trim piece where the wallpaper ends, will look good the same blue you painted the cupboard under the stairs. It will look good any color really. I thought the blue might make the blue in the wallpaper pop. It's gorgeous. I love all the decorating you're doing.
Aaawww, you are the lovliest couple. I enjoy eeeevery minute of your videos. I'm german too and totally into your kind of taste, your wonderful house and decoration. Also I learned SO much from you,how to combine colours and fabrics. I simply LOVE YOU BOTH.
I actually enjoy your homestyle videos very much. Our family cannot afford to travel at this time, so we've been doing projects around our home. Thank you for sharing your life with us.❤
Geneviève Bonjour..when you finish..come To France to help me..hi hi 😁😁joerg is very skilful..and he 'got a so good assistant...what a beautiful home!!!
Love the wall paint colour. Love the new switches & swatches. The ladder is fantastic. The cup of tea looked so delicious. Joerg & Kirsten, you are both doing a fabulous job on your beautiful home. Well done!⭐️⭐️⭐️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺.
@@KirstenJoerg 🌟Good decision to spot your hubby. The ladder did seem perched rather precariously on the step like that, especially considering the serious cathedral like ceiling in landing.😮The extreme height made me dizzy. 😁Fun to share a bit of your home-making adventure with you. You're both a great representative for British design. Lovely to see your process, style, options & your enthusiasm for making improvements. You clearly have exquisite taste. Well done! ☮💛🌼 from🌞sunny SoCal.
Your light switch plates are beautiful! Really elevates them. I have to say that we had light dimmers put in the bedrooms, but also the bathroom. It’s been so nice over the years to not have the bright bathroom light blind you in the middle of the night!
I have those light switches only they are round with the porcelain back. Lovely choice. The wallpaper is stunning and of course it had to be Darcy. I like the beige with the blue ticking fabric. Pick good quality fabric because it will last and drape better. ❤️ The architrave is perfect. I’ve used it in my bathroom. It was my husband’s idea. He’s an eco builder and dry stone dyker. It’s going to be stunning, can’t wait to see it.
I am so enjoying your decorating of your house in the English country style. I love how you select colors and wallpapers etc. The house will be a showcase of this style and I hope you think about putting this adventure into a book on interior design with photos of your progress with before and after photos and design suggestions. ❤️😺🐠
Yes, I love your home content and enjoy seeing your progress coming along. I also very much enjoyed your Deutschland vs. UK comparison. It is very interesting the differences. I really enjoy your paint choices and carpet! The wonderful part is I can watch this while taking care of my own organizing and recycling at the same time. So efficient and relaxing. Tschüss!
Your wallpaper is beautiful!! Material with stripe works well. Remodeling is a challenge and a lot of work. However when you are done you can sit back and admire your work.
Everything is lovely. The light switches are great, they look very elegant. When you said that you liked the colorful runner I think my heart skipped a beat because I couldn't picture it but when you showed the picture of the stairs with the runner I fell in love!😍 You guys have great taste and I love that Joerg does not mind the flower patterns that a lot of men stirred away from. You got a beautiful home.
Thanks so much! Yes, the colourful runner is so amazing, we are just not sure if it would clash with all the prints in our hall but it would definitely look stunning in the land.
Okay, guys I’ll let you know when I am moving in. Just kidding!! I love your taste so much. Love the brass switches and all the details that make such a difference in a cozy, beautiful home. I agree with your philosophy about taking your time and buying what you love. A home should evolve over time. Love the video.
OMGosh, panning up the ladder made my vertigo say...you'd never catch me up there. Love the new switches such class they are. Your home is lovely, all the nice touches you're doing to make it your own, is making it even lovelier. Enjoy the weekend.!
I really like all your Antique .. Vintage .. Victorian Furniture & Accessories! It really adds to the decorum of the home! As well as all the Gingham Tops u wear! That's my style .. too! You're a Very Lovely Couple! Keep making Great Video's!
The two of you are so sweet and you really seems like two peas in a pod! Love your brass choices, and the ceiling rose will look amazing. Thanks for always letting us know the brands/details. A hug to each of you from afar!
Hi Kirsten & Joerg, I am really enjoying your house decoration. I particularly admire your dedication & the patience you take with your design style & its execution. I wish I had a "Joerg" to help me with redecoration!
Just gorgeous.....Kirsten, a decorator will not have better ideas than you, yourself, have. Everything you put together turns out to be the perfect choice...love it all
You are so smart and patient with your decorating choices. I think the runner you like the best would be beautiful. It will tie everything together and add a whimsical pop of color. The switch plates are great also, love the toggle feature. I am so excited to see the progress unveil.
Thank you! Yes, the runner would be amazing in the landing but too much down in the hall. They were just the first samples but we will keep you posted.
Hey Joerg, why do you prefer the narrow paint roller to a wider one? Might I suggest that round switch surrounds are more traditionally Victorian English, but you've definately made a big improvement from the plastic ones. It goes without saying that it's always lovely to watch your videos, well I've said it anyway. I'll come back later to watch some more of this one. Back again, I totally agree with you about spending quite a bit of time deciding on the choice of colours and style, although like me you already know what you like and those choices are basically what you stick to most of your life. Your house will reflect all the things you love and therefore you always feel happy and content when you walk around and relax in your house, it becomes your home. Thank you for the roller advice, I always appreciate getting a "better result" with paint, therefore, I will use narrow, thin paint rollers from now on.
Thank you John. Joerg prefers the narrow paint roller with this paint as he has more control and it gives a far better result. Sure but we wanted these switches as we have always loved them (it's always personal preference). We wish you a lovely weekend.
