Omg in HS I had the vanilla LipSmackers lip gloss and my crush at the time smelled my lips and said they smelled like cupcakes. I went and bought 5 more the next day. I was never gonna not smell like cupcakes lol

Now kids in middle school use like freaking $40 eye shadow pallets and $30 lipsticks, thing is they put it in on almost every day (not including me) and somehow through some sorcery they don't look horrible.

Goddddd this is SO nostalgic. I was raised in Australia by an American mom, and she LOVED browsing eBay. I remember one time she surprised me with an eBay haul of a bunch of random American candy inspired lip products. Bubble Yum lip smackers, Bonne Bell glosses, Hershey's Kiss lip balms... it was such a fun gift to receive as an 11 year-old. This video reminded me so much of that moment, so thank you! And not to be That Commenter, but it makes me think about how different adolescence was back then compared to now. 11 year olds are out here wearing ABH and rocking flawless brows, which is fine! But back in the day, I thought Havaianas and a grape lip smacker was the epitome of fashion. Miss u, 2004.

I loved butterfly clips and the beaded headbands. The lip gloss I remember was lipsmackers frosted ones, with jewels on the lids. I had the mint one. Can't forget that cotton candy scented body spray.

I LOVED Zenon and Lizzie Mcguire. Omg, this made me smile! 😊 the lip gloss with fruit on it and the butterfly hair clips, the plastic chokers.

Bonne Bell was bought by Markwins (Wet n Wild, Black Radiance, Physicians Formula, Lorac, and Color Workshop), and still makes the Smackers, so you don't have to buy expired ones, but I think they're just called Lip Smackers now, they dropped the Bonne Bell name. I know that a lot of us will still call them that though. Sadly, NYC was discontinued in the US by Coty when they bought Cover Girl. I think that NYC is still popular in Canada.

Back in the days middle schoolers used to wear butterfly hair clips and lip gloss. Now its thrasher crop tops and middle finger phone cases

It's honestly so refreshing and nice to hear adults say that middle school is difficult. Some of my teachers say it's not that difficult or I have nothing to be stressed about so this felt really nice.

I was never allowed to pluck my eyebrows or wear makeup until this one time in 7th grade when we had to do group videos for an assignment in one of my classes. When we were done filming and the teacher showed the class all of the videos my unibrow showed up on camera under the crappy lighting so dark. Luckily I had bangs that I could hide my eyebrows with for the rest of the day (the uni wasn’t too noticeable unless you looked for it) and in the video I had on a fake mustache so most people thought the unibrow was intentional. I got home and my mom let me start to pluck my brows. I was still banned from makeup though.

This takes me back! I am a little bit older than y'all so I was in high school from 2000-2004. But those blobs of glitter on the temples and under the eyes that you would get in a roller at Bath & Body Works were my JAM. And blueberry roll-on lipgloss. And braces. Yikes.

omg I had the flip gloss in 1997 or 1998 in a cinnamon-y brown that totally smells like cinnamon. I took it to Europe with me in 2004 and I totally got stopped and searched at Heathrow Airport in London because they thought it was some crazy switch blade lol I still have it hanging out in my jewelry box because I can't bring myself to throw it out

We had the exact same butterfly clips in Malta (Europe) too! They came in all colors and shades but the shape is exactly the same! They were invading the world! I had so many of them and a few flower clips to match them! hahaha

I remember those lips glosses from elementary school. The roll on reminds me of a Barbie roll on body glitter I used to have. I was personally more of a lip balm kid myself, and the more pigment the better.

I love Saf but got really sad watching this video not because of the content but the rather deeper truth lying underneath: that pretty soon all the ladylike girls will go solo and start their own channels but not all will make it, like watching One Direction or the Beatles break up, like yeah you'll cheer for them but you know nothing will be the same ever again
