I don’t know how moms can listen to there babies cry hysterically for 15-20min for me it was excruciating. I felt like I’m traumatizing them. All my babies slept by me as long as I breastfed them and I don’t regret it. They had a great bonding time and security.
@sheetalpanchal225

@Beastbombshell I would never do that. Babies cry because they need to feel secure. Why should we make them insecure for a lifetime just for our sleep benefit? That's so selfish!
@HaciendaDurazo

@@sheetalpanchal225Sleep is extremely important. Some people cannot function well without enough sleep or live under circumstances where sleep training is the best option. There is nothing wrong with sleep training. Lots of people cannot co-sleep or are terrified to. Everyone is different and does what is best for them. Needing to sleep is not selfish; it’s necessary to function. Children don’t need a perfect parent, they need a good one. Sleep training is teaching a baby to fall asleep on his own. I don’t agree with letting them cry it out tho.

@Beastbombshell you’re right only last a couple days and feels longer than it actually is. I went from rocking my baby to sleep and it’s have to be a deep sleep for me to be able to transfer him into the crib, to being able to play and have tons of fun with him and go into the room change him and put him into the crib with a bottle and he is out like a light. The process was putting him into his crib sleepy but awake after rocking with a bottle, few mins of crying and then he went to sleep. He slept longer and better once he was able to fall asleep on his own. He is a happier baby in the morning and I’m a well rested mama. Anyways just wanted to say I agree with you! :)
@jamiewestman7822
@jamiewestman7822 3 года назад
@@sheetalpanchal225 sleep is important for them to learn. Babies cry when they struggle to learn something but doesn’t mean they shouldn’t learn it. But you do you. If this doesn’t work for you that’s fine, but please don’t make other mamas feel bad because they need their littles to learn this sooner than you do. Sleep is important. A lot of PPD is because of lack of sleep, PP psychosis is due to lack of sleep, you’re more likely to make small and large mistakes in your daily life with no sleep, and finally you’re more likely to be an impatient parent with less sleep….. so who benefits from everyone learning to sleep- everyone baby included. However you and you baby sleep is good 👍🏻 and however other moms and babies sleep is also good. Also no baby remembers if their parents let them cry or rocked to sleep so neither will ours. 🤷‍♀️

WARNING WARNING WARNING. this does not work for all babies and it is very hard for people when it does work to beleive it doesn't work for others. I followed EVERY rule and unfortunately my baby did not know these rules and it ruined - absolutely ruined the first 6 months. Back in my day it was a book called Babywise. Based on routine cycles of sleep then feed then wake/play repeat. Nate's tip at 6:45 I swear on my life I felt like such a failure because everyone told me this would work but it just wasn't working so one time I let my baby cry it out so long she literally cried from one sleep/feed/wake cycle to the next!!! I am not exagerating. This does not - i reapeat - does not work for all babies. She did not sleep through until 18 months. My baby is now 21 and studying law at university and I still regret what my desperate desire to be a 'good parent' did to us. Rumor has it highly itelligent babies are bad sleepers (but that might be just rumor)

I guess if you have a schedule this might be good? I slept with my babies for the first year or so and my baby slept wonderfully. It also made breastfeeding and bonding with my baby extra special. Ignoring a baby’s cries feels like breaking the trust your baby has when they are calling out to us. Whether they are hungry, scared, need a changing or are just wanting the security of their parents warmth. I believe that’s why god made mom’s so sensitive to the sound of our baby’s cry. They made a study showing that right after a mommy gives birth her hearing is more sensitive to sound. Unfortunately, our lives have become so pressed for time that our children are made to fit their babyhood into a schedule, instead of letting parents and babies embrace this small and precious moments they share with us. You both seem like wonderful parents who adore those precious babies and many other videos on parenting you have made I agree with. I just believe ( I notice Sutton picks up on this) that mother’s instinct with her baby were put there for a reason and unfortunately, our current state of our world pulls us away from hearing it.

My kid also slept through the night by 8 weeks, and By six months I could put him down wide awake and he could settle himself, and we have never had bedtime issues. We swaddled till he was five months, and did most everything suggested here except letting him “cry it out.” What I did learn was “the pause”. I would bolt up in bed at the slightest sound, but I would wait to see if he could see-sooth or if he needed me. Sometimes the need us, and that’s why mamas have supersonic hearing. I was a working executive, and my husband stayed at home for ten months, but nighttime was my shift. They need the reassurance that mama will be there if needed, but they also need to learn to put themselves back to sleep when they are ok.

@@sarahbyd that's wonderful. Mothering your baby is such an individual experience. That you listened to your baby to see if it just was a bit fussy is important. Babies do not just cry to be annoying. It's their only way of survival. If a parent tenderly response to their baby, it starts understanding that these caregivers are trustworthy, so the baby feel they have less to fear and can drift off at time because that parent has developed that bond of trust by letting the baby know they will always be there by their side when they are needed, as the lord is always there for us.
@snapshot1386
@snapshot1386 4 года назад
@Beastbombshell First thing, To all wanting to have children. Please be sure that you understand the huge responsibility and commitment you are deciding to take when you bring a life to this world. Also, Did I get sleep for a year? My peace of mind was seeing my baby was getting loved and cared for. I find it the same as when my mom was ill and incapacitated. I wasn't concerned about how much sleep I got, but about how much comfort and love I was able to give her as she had given me. Every mother has their own way of mothering their babies. When I had my first child, I read all those books about how to put your baby to sleep so they could self calm and sleep longer and it was a nightmare for me and my baby. Just filled with anxiety and frustration which my baby ended up feeling. I decided to listen to my mothering intuition and everything change for me. What a close loving connection I had with my baby. Now my children are independent loving adults. My point is that there are so many ways to mother and women should listen to their gut. What works for you might not work for another. As women, we are blessed with the responsibility to bear, nurture and nourish our babies and should find what works best for us and our babies.

It not like I’m against letting them cry, I wish I didn’t have to but at some point we had to since nothing worked anyway because he was crying even with rocking and anything else we tried....but the title says without crying it out. That’s not very accurate! Even if you go in every 5 mins it’s still is what people mean with cry it out. ( which in my experience just made it worse when you leave). Just kinda a deceiving title!

That is so good for you all. I thonk the hardest challeng for new parents is loss of sleep. Being completely transparent, I have ZERO children. However, I have been babysitting since I was 8/9/10. My oldest nephew is 5 years younger than me. I've known since I was 10 yrs old I didn't want kids. The Lord allowed me to teach preschool (2yr. to 5yrs) for 8 yrs and do VBS with a variety of age groups(primary ages mostly) which reaffirmed my desire not to have kids. Love love love them, but they are not for me. I completely agree with getting a routine, routine, routine and being consistent. You all are so right about allowing them to cry for few moments. My cousins weren't fans of that technique, so they didn't use my services often 😁.

oh God... Parent's intuitions exists for a reason... very bad advices from you guys... you're very disconnected from your good fathers/mother's natural instincts.. I am glad to live in Germany where nurses and Dr's would advice the opposite! Co-Sleep and breastfeeding on demand, that is the best way, more nurturing no stress for babies and mothers ( you should check the amount of stress hormones produce when you let a baby cry). Having a baby means doing the best for HIM not for YOU, being a parent is about sacrifices, not having much sleep is TOTALLY NORMAL and HEALTHY. Thankfully parents can inform themselves nowadays and read multiples of studies that shows how better it is to listen to your baby and not bring a routine for the first months. you definitely should read more and listen more to yourself about this. Smart people can change their opinions if they find appropriate studies.. Babies needs to wake up so that their brain can develop and mature the best way possible. The different sleeping phases including waking up and falling asleep again without crying are very important for your baby development.

@spottieottiedopaliscious1647
NO JUST NO. Child psychologist of 20 years, Vanessa Lapointe states, “Babies dont self soothe. They cant. They dont have the neurological wiring to do it. The only reason why babies do fall asleep is that they literally become so traumatized of being so alone and frightened that they dissociate and their brains turn off” why would you want to do that to your baby? That early onset trauma can negatively affect their temperament and also prone to personality/psychological-disorders when they become adults. Your poor babies..
@hendrikmarie67
@hendrikmarie67 4 года назад
crying is a baby's sole way of signalling when he or she is uncomfortable or distressed, adding that being left crying hard is stressful, and continued acute stress sets up a hormonal chain reaction that ultimately stimulates the adrenal glands into releasing the "stress hormone" cortisol. Long continued or oft-repeated crying can produce so much cortisol that it can damage a baby's brain. That doesn't mean that a baby should never cry or that parents should worry when she does. All babies cry, some more than others. It's not crying that is bad for babies, but crying that gets no response. A baby who is left crying for long enough will eventually stop, but not because he has learnt to go to sleep happily alone, but because he's exhausted and has despaired of getting help.
@bellem.8329

You are absolutely right. Their kids don’t sleep 12 hours because they are content. They sleep 12 hours because they have been trained that no one will come when they cry and have a need for something. That makes me sick. It’s like the babies in orphanages where there aren’t enough people to care for them. It’s proven that those babies develop lifelong detachment issues. It’s been proven even in monkeys! Nate and Sutton have done that so THEY can get 8 hours of sleep and still have time to do RU-vid videos to make money. Or rather, Nate said this is how we will do it and Sutton goes along because he’s Biblical “head of the household.” He’s really just a control freak.

We got our 4 kids (now all over 18) and 8 foster babies to sleep through the night by 2 months (or sooner!) with similar methods...although there are/were a few things that I did differently. My primary method is, feed them every 3 hours, even if you have to wake them up (during the day only) or let them cry, hold them, etc to stretch them to 3 hours. For night-time feedings, I tried to keep it as quiet as possible, no lights, play or talking, just feed them, change them and back into bed with the least amount of stimulus as possible. We have our 9th foster baby in our care right now. He's just 5 weeks old and slept 7 hours the other night.

This advice is really dangerous babes get their hydration by eating, withholding food from them before the "last meal" then not feeding them 12 hours after that is just a recipe for danger. i wouldn't be surprised if this practice doesn't cause long term damage. I wonder how many brain cells get fried when he gets. dehydrated weight charts cant measure brain damage. Haven't you ever heard that if your thirsty its to late. Id like to point out that one of the signs of baby dehydration is oversleeping, another is vomiting. pretty sure this is borderline child abuse. babies are not supposed to sleep thru the night. quit being lazy parenting is hard get over it or hire a nanny.

@@Kamismaximus Not really. Me and my colleagues are newborn care specialists. We work at night so parents can get much needed sleep. A LOT of my colleagues can get babies sleeping thru the night by 8-10 weeks. Bottom line: its just a matter of not introducing any bad sleep habits (rocking, feeding, bouncing to sleep). The main trick is to lay them down awake not asleep for naps and at bedtime so babes learn how to fall asleep all by themselves. Of course, there is also a schedule to follow (5+ feeds during the day). When you do all the above, any babe will naturally sleep the night. Look at chunky Halston. Never ignore babies cries, eye contact as much as you can, nurture, cosleep and give without conditions. Wear your baby as much as you can, this is how you will make a strong and empathic human being. All the others methods for disconnected parents without natural parents instincts are crap, and only there for you to spend $$$. No need.

That early onset trauma can negatively affect their temperament and also prone to personality/psychological-disorders when they become adults

Fast your babies? 🤨 Babies don’t ask for milk just to have a meal. Sometimes they are thirsty or want a snack, just like adults. Imagine we had a dry throat and were denied water because it inconveniences the only person who could give us water… someone we thought we could trust 😔

Seeing Halton up close I couldn't help but notice in my opinion he looks more like Nate than Oakland did. Sure Oakland has Nates eye colour and Halton has Suttons however facial features and eye shape even as a baby you can see the similarities and I imagine he'll grow to look more and more like a mini Nate.

When my brother slept through the night,10 hours and more all mom's friends said, you just wait untill you get nr 2. When I was born 6 weeks early, I was a small baby. But I LOVED to sleep, mom's doctor had me on a feed every three or four hours at night to gain weight, but I fiercely demanded to be left alone and sleep. Mom let me as she felt like I need quality sleep more than the feeds I responded so much better that way. Waking me up all the time made so angry and grumpy and I refused to eat. She was scared to admit to my doctor that I didnt eat at night and only slept so she didnt tell. I gained so much weight she never needed to tell either. I slept even more than my brother and I could be down from 7pm to 8 am. Both me and my brother are still heavy sleepers, so is my dad. Long story short, so even if I was a tiny baby I responded so well to full stretches of sleep I gained energy that way to eat and be content in the day. I was chunky in no time at all.

I found for both of my boys, that having first chiropractor adjustment yes even a one week old can have an chiropractor their are specific certified for children chiropractors most chiropractors are though I have found. I did not have any issues with my second which tummy time after 2 months old because that's when sooner the better, my oldest I didn't know till my friend recommended it, he was 4 months old and I got him adjustment because I just did not know what else to do to help him through tummy time and I had struggling breastfeeding found his pallet was affected because of the birth that he had and that was making him unable to get a full latch.

Kate They pop up on my recommended because I used to watch them, but now they are just nauseating. Nate is the most phony person on RU-vid. They are entertaining only because they are so far removed from real life that it’s comical. C’mon: attractive virgins meet and marry, have gorgeous kids they raise by a book, live in a beautiful home but have no apparent jobs, they have perfect teeth and perfect lives and perfect babies who sleep for 12 hours every night, he’s all buff, she’s gorgeous and everyone is happy all the time. They are like those so called reality TV shows that are all fake. I’d like to see the real side of them if there is one.

How long does this usually take? We were feeding our baby every time he woke up (every few hours), then started this and he’s been getting good at soothing himself back to sleep, generally before the timer gets to 5 minutes … with that having been said, he’s still waking up every few hours. When does that end?

My daughter is 8 years old and has severe autism, so routines are a must have in my home. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with my second child and will continue routines for my nerotypical son as well. In my experience, kids strive much better with routines. I am not sure about letting my baby cry for long periods though, but thats only in my home because it would be a nightmare with a baby crying and disturbing a young child with severe autism. But like I said that would only be for my home, but I do agree with allowing the baby to fall asleep on their own and self soothing. Looking forward to doing it all again and congratulations to all the expecting moms ❤

Have a Wonderful and Blessed day!!! We all living in this world, in this country...God the Dear Lord and Savior made us all, he made the human race, he made all shades brown, black, white, red, yellow. He in his Holy word never mentions race or division by color he looks at Born-Again, and lost, Jew or Gentile. Moses was married to a lady with black skin. We need to realize if we hate someone due to the shade of their skin we are telling God, the Mighty "Great I Am" he messed up. I really don't beleive that is a god idea no matter what shade we are. He also tells us not to murder or take vengeance as it belongs to him. Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. We need to pray daily for one another. We need to stop buying into the media and the decietful ways of the enemy Satan. If you have never trusted Jesus come to him today!! We are living in the last days and know not what a day will bring. I am praying daily for our Country. PLEASE if you have a prayer need reply back. John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

If you go in when they cry, don’t make eye contact? You are so wrapped up in controlling your babies that you’ve forgotten to let them be babies. It’s such a short, sweet time. Why not just relax and enjoy it? They will all get on a sleep schedule eventually. Why does it have to be at two months of age? Oh, yeah, that’s for YOUR convenience.

Also my baby's colicy so she's more fussy but if I put her in the bassinet sleepy she just wakes right up and starts crying, she wants to be rocked to sleep lol okay so im adding to this as um watching it lol but her doctor gave us the okay to sleep train her but the first day I caved in:/ today I dident though and it was torture and everything I read says it'll traumatiz your baby when their this young if they cry it out, for half hour is the longest ive gone, so im confused why my doctor okayed it but then almost everything I read says don't lol I kept strong today bc the first half of the day I let her cry it out and told myself if I mess this up then she cried for nothing the first half of of day so that's how I kept strong the rest of the day lol you guys are a life saver and thank you so much for posting this video!
