We went on 1-2 hikes a week for an entire year and it was absolutely life changing. From the physical and mental health benefits to finding others that were just as tired of parks as we were, becoming "hiking people" (which is a joke we really aren't) has been amazing.
In this video we're talking about how we were able to make this transition even with 4 little kids that have never wanted to hike a day in their life.
Here's our list of essential hiking gear to make hiking fun for anyone, even little kids! americandreamr...

Gosh I'm just so Proud of The Johnsons, along with being self made, a family of 6, their commitment and natural awareness is next level If you have followed their story you'll see Hayley and Doug truely are a Power Couple.

Honestly I really love this , when I hiked by myself I always wondered why parents would take their little kids and torture them lol but this video put things in a different perspective

LOL we thought the same thing until we brought our kids out and really it wasn't until we saw all these other tough little kids running around that have more outdoor skills than we ever did haha. Thanks for watching!

One of my best tips is to have a list of new places you want to hike so it’s new and exciting, even on those weeks you aren’t feeling it.

Started watching you shortly after you had your first. Now I have two little boys myself (2 and a half and a five month old) I would love to go out for more walks but I am always SO EXHAUSTED. My bones ache and hurt and I don't even physically manage to rock my baby to sleep. You are very inspiring and are doing a great job with your littles!

I feel you. Especially those with any autoimmune type issues, managing all this with very little energy to spare is exhausting. Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition first...is what I've been learning. Like, dense nutrition, rethinking all our supplements with only the right ones and lifestyle habits little by little that build the energy back up.❤ I am a 'low energy' mom who loves to hike!

We have 2 and 4 year olds and love going into nature but they aren't walking usually...pushed in a stroller. 😅 hoping we can get them to walk more. Autistic kids so slightly behind too which can be a struggle many days because my husband and I also have multiple health issues. Great videos.

Re: hiking what do you do or do you have any suggestions about people who aren’t supposed to have their dogs off leash but do on hikes and they run ahead and you have little kids? This is a huge concern and honestly straight up phobia of mine now. Everyone is so dog crazy and they can hurt little kids so bad. I wouldn’t mind if they were on leash but people don’t follow rules
