The writers of wgm stated before that the show aren't scripted. The only scripted part is the event or the scenes they will be doing on episode. But the lines that they are throwing each other is purely coming from the cast. The writers did stated this when some obsessed fans are spreading that the show is scripted. A few times that wgm writers cleared this fake rumor.

Old We Got Married couples were not problematic, the fans enjoyed it and we knew that it was scripted. But did it kill the fun and stopped us from watching the show? Hell no. We watched and enjoyed it. It's just that, fans are wild these days that idols can't look at the other side with another idol in it, or even breathe the same air with them. Just chill everyone, stan them but know the limits.

Well, for some people, idols just a pretty visual character of any fanfiction they created in their mind. Not a real person with real character and real life. @@aubreysong An idol definitely should not always act like that. They don't get paid to act, they get paid to perform. Fans buy their music and merchandise, not their services. Honestly since the toxic stan culture is already very apparent and going nowhere At this point beating it back doing the exact opposite is the best option. Honestly even when these idols got hurt from toxicity of stans...it was wayy less than now It only grew because the companies let it. They literally became lapdogs of fans at this point. They'd do just about everything to appease fans and stop even a stray whisper. If they bring back such interactive shows, just what are the fans gonna do? Stop stanning their faves? How many would they stop supporting? One, five, or ten groups? After a point they either HAVE TO accept it as a part of k-entertainment. Either support it or leave the entire k-fandom.

All it takes is fans deciding they WONT support these groups or idols for things to fall very quickly and end their careers forever. Sungmin of Super Junior is effectively blacklisted from ever appearing with his group, and has been on a decade long “hiatus” because he dared to get married. And he was a fan favorite at the time. Fans of the group will make up excuses about him/his wife to justify why they essentially kicked him out, but the marriage is their real issue. It also doesn’t take much for fans to feel/act this way, and once their mind is made up the economic boycott is swift. No company is going to want to stick out their neck to turn the tide, and the companies are not banding together to tell the fans to hop off anytime soon. Its 2022, Can't we expect maturity at this level that fans should believe not just korean but international fans also that spending life with someone is so basic, that's how the generation moves forward, men and women both at some point of their life want to embrace parenthood and if fans keep behaving this way, then it becomes easy for idols to chose themselves over their fans. They are happy that you support them but they also know that when the reality strikes them many fans turn hypocrites. If those fans can't accept, then it is their own problem. If I were in-charge of a company that supports a group, I would have given them more opportunities to explore new things as long as its good for their self-esteem and character development. I would even go to even more length to SUE those fans who just want to harrass and didn't support my idols as an example that we're firm in our stance. If some fans will left the fandom, who cares? It will just show that these fans are not the REAL ones that we were looking for. They are just fake and delusional.

They should be given freedom to make their music and put it out there But if companies do not see any potential in that song to blow up then they scarp it That is why many artist leave their company to join more liberal and small company to get freedom.Eg is GOT7

It happened to me and to others so imo, we don't talk enough about how older fans contribute a lot to the toxicity of a fandom. I admit moonsun delulus still r very toxic bt that doesn't mean nam nation isn't toxic. While they were together she got ripped apart for her looks, for her body n even her talent got questioned. Moos had to complain to Solar in a 2020 or 2019 (3 yrs later still ) solarsido live abt comments made by nam nation & requested her fans n HIS fans to stop abusing both of them. There isn't a more or less of hate. Solar n Eric couldn't talk well during their 2020 cultwo cuz they were afraid of the hate. Don't make the hate a one way street. WGM was a fun show to watch. I was a huge fan of the Adam Couple, but I must admit that the show could either have a positive or negative impact to the casts. I remembered the episode of Happy Together years ago where Jo Kwon and Son Ga In appeared on. They said that although the show had helped their careers, there were lots of instances that both of them have to explain to other people that they weren't really together and it was just the concept of the show. This Happy Together episode aired 3-4 years after WGM, and even today it's still brought up when Jo Kwon appeared in Kim Misun's show on YT where he had to explain his relationship with Son Ga In because viewers (fans of WGM or Adam Couple) still ships them together (and probably hoping them to be real couple). Morever, we can't deny that WGM was a really good show especially for 2nd Gen kpop fans like myself. But honestly speaking, after Khuntoria, the show slowly went downhill; and it seemed that it was majorly caused by the fans of the casted idols themselves. :/ kinda sad to realize that this kind of show will not be able to exist today as fandoms/fanwars etc. gets more and more toxic. :/

This is one of the things I hate the most about kpop stans! Kpop idols should be allowed to date whoever they want, without any worries about the idol or their partner getting any hate for it, real or pretend relationship, it doesn't matter. Also interactions between male and female idols shouldn't be treated like dating scandals. It's sad that the only way for idols to have meaningful relationships with people from the opposite gender, without anyone throwing a tantrum online about it, would be for them to no longer be famous.

I've been a Kpop and Jpop fan for a loooooong time. Ever since a friend lent me a Cassette of the group Two Two. In other words probably longer than most people watching this video have been alive. From the start I've never understood the toxic, and just plain creepy, way that some "fans" think that they have any say in the lives of Idols. It's not like they are ever going to actually meet any of them. It's one of the most irritating aspects of Kpop in general, that companies bow down to these crazy people. Not letting them have friendships with opposite sex Idols, not letting them date, or behave as anything other than "Fantasy fodder" for people who have no real lives of their own. I've yet to come into contact with a Fandom ANYWHERE that is as disfunctional as the Kpop community.

For real I always enjoyed all the we got married episodes, even the global edition, they were all very good in my opinion. But obviously the ones who watched it thinking that it was all scripted, even if it really was, how can they enjoy it that way? Just think of it as a drama and watch it without trying to find every single flaw in it. When i found out what a hard time Naeun and Teamin had after their "We got married" made me so sad, they couldn't even speak in public, always being awkward to each other. Also I feel like fans really do go far when it comes to making idols' private lives a bit uncomfortable. Why can't you just watch from the side lines and let them live their lives, it is theirs to begin with. They are lending us a bit of their lives and talents but that doesn't mean that we as fans have any authority to rule over it, let them be happy with their choices and just support them when they need it, that's our role as fans💖

They are just fake and delusional.

it’s such a surprise for me that this show existed and was even successful back then. i became involved with K-pop four years ago and started out in a fandom in which many stans had obsessive and possessive tendencies. so i entered the world knowing as a fact that there is a huge amount of people obsessing over the idols and throwing tantrums online once they see a woman one inch too close to their bias. so hearing about this show is absolutely surprising and it being up for a few years is incredible. if this idea came up brand new today i’d say “that’s insanity, it’s going to end up in a disaster of rumors, controversies, hiatuses and hate towards the idols” there’s no chance in this concept working today, at least not as long as male idols act like a boyfriend to fans

That was so nice to see how they developed there feelings and action towards the other person and that they are getting comfortable with each other. BUT at the end they HAVE to end they journey together and have to forget those feelings they have?Telling the parents that they got married and they build a strong relationship with the „married Man/Women“. I'm a fan of kdrama and k-variety initially, but surprisingly WGM Season 1 had brought me into the world of kpop in 2008. While browsing X-man Of Course segments, i suddenly stumbled upon Andy & Solbi and Kim Hyun Joong & Hwangbo couple which i find very funny despite the clips back then rarely have any english subtitle.. luckily there're fans who translate willingly for their favourite couple.. so different couple, will have different fan subs.. I always need to wait a week or may take months for the subtitle but i still appreciate and wait patiently. From there i'm exposed to SS501, Shinhwa, Jewelry, Super Junior, Girls Generation etc which led me to venturing the world of kpop. Then i got really excited when KHJ has been offered the role in Boys Over Flowers drama. My last favourite couple was Jo Kwon & Gain couple.. For me, the memory of WGM was very beautiful and entertaining at the same time. When it comes to the newer couples starting in Season 2 especially Khuntoria and Yonghwa & Seohyun couple's, the negativity from the hardcore fans of the idols group has grown larger. Instead of sweetness, some of these people has been lashing the idol's partner for crossing the line even if the couple just glancing or holding hands. From there on, i stopped watching the rest of WGM's season.. Apart from the toxic fans, mature fans are considered a minority unfortunately. Hong Ki & Mina's gentleness has proven their maturity in protecting each other and their friendship even after WGM Global ended, and so are the fans who are mature enough to understand. P/s: i'm so sad when one of my fav shows ended due to the unwanted negativity and scandals.

In his own words, he stands by the fact that he enjoyed doing the show, and you can tell that the two of them had fun even if they didn't catch feelings. What made him uncomfortable was the fans' reaction and backlash. The industry is such an alternate reality that people become absorbed into it and develop an unhealthy mindset. They do things they looked down on others for and cross all the boundaries. They become spiteful hateful things, but insist they are not haters. When a knetizen finally clears their head and realises kpop should not be looked at so deeply, that it is all about music, the idols are all friends, most things are out of the idols control and finally that they have no right to tell an idol who to date, what to eat and invade their personal business, those people are so embarassed of their actions. they cant even believe that was them. possessiveness, hatred, gatekeeping is just a phase for these people, but their comments made some permanent marks.

@@yd3216 it was horrible from first gen for example baby vox mistreatment- they sent kn@ves in the mail, was amazing from 2nd gen, 3rd gen is where companies listened to haters by restricting the idols freedom rather than discipline toxic fans and 4th gen is the newly polished “perfect” set of idols with a strict regime and rules to not upset the fans whom they deliver such intimate fan service to its easy for people to become delulu and feel like they are actual besties- ie the idols spam texting them on bubble. guys and girls can’t even have eye contact AT ALL, and every mistake-even some made decades before-are used against the idol, fabricated lies are supported and antis do anything to ruin someone’s life simply becuase they hate themselves. Kpop idols are not just for fans but to be sponges for people who lead miserable lives and deflect their insecurities. Also it’s always young fans doing this because they are immature- how sad is it to be bullied by little kids who don’t know how the world works- and when they mature they feel sorry but it won’t take away from the pain they conflicted. I am SO annoyed with toxic stans, and I strongly believe that instead of forcing idols to act a specific way, the companies should take more direct action against such fans. Don't get me wrong, I get that fan service is an important part of the industry and that is understandable, however Idols should be able to say no to things they don't feel comfortable doing, and generally be allowed to interact with each other without some 12 year olds controlling their lifes (and I do hope such fans are little kids because the older they are the more scary and creepy it gets ngl)!

I never watched We Got Married but like now, I don't think any "fans" wouldn't like it regardless because some are still delulu. It would be awesome if NCT was in the show but yeah I think it would be uncomfortable for them if they get hate and backlash

I loved this show. I think those stars on there were genuine. You can tell they r all shy and it was nice seeing their diff personality than on regular music shows and others. It is also allow the idols to actually explore the daiting and what's would be like. I don't know why Eric got so much blast. They were all becareful. I think also she is very popular now so he tried to avoid to answer any questions so they don't twist his words to use against Solar. Yewon's situation was def diff bec the leak video shown that she called the senior actress B**h right there. Def a no no and never happened at variety show and got captured.

I might misremembered this, but i think there was a rumour on taemin and naeun earlier episodes when a fan was yelling/cursing at naeun after their first date(?) Taemin was trying to escort naeun back to her car when a fan suddenly said that. I think it was caught on screen and naeun's expression suddenly changes and taemin seemingly to calm her a bit. But of course there was a backsound added on to it so ig we'll never know. But as i said this is not facts and i might misremembered some things

i never understand the backlash of saying it was fake and scripted, like what do you expect? they were two celebs shooting for a job. if they like each other for real without scripts, they'll be dating irl. i don't understand netizen needing it to feel real for them, but then also expects them to be professional all the time

I loved this show and loved Taemin and key in it, these are grown men with normal emotions and feelings they are not a caged animal like a tiger in a zoo. I am a Shinee fan .

I loved watching WGM. Everyone knew it's just for fun and partly scripted. Taemin was always well "protected" by his fans - he was always cute little pure boy. I guess Teamin thought it's the time to show he's a man now but fans didn't let him. I feel bad for both of them. Novadays there are too many toxic fans who would be furious if their fav artist would even prtedend to date
