How we grow Heuchera plants in shade under a conifer

Despite being in shade and quite dry soil underneath a lovely conifer the Heuchera has spread to form a bronze carpet all year around.
It is hardy here in South Wales (UK) and has 'laughed at' temperatures as lower as -8C one winter, it may drop a few leaves in such cold spells but there will plenty of new leaves in spring, and flowers (much loved by the bees).
Available in many different leaf colours, these hardy perennials are great in pots or borders (in fact I have seen some used in winter hanging baskets too!) and ours loves being in well drained dryish soil (we just give it an occasional drink of water during dry summer spells ... young / newly planted Heucheras will require a little more watering)
