Excellent tips! I like the 2-day rule. It wouldn't have occurred to me how much one might need to do, but staying on top of things and allowing plenty of time to assess, purchase, execute sounds like a much more proactive and relaxing approach to continuing to create an exceptional guest experience, even if one doesn't live locally.
Spent Light Bulbs -- I'm always amazed at the number of light bulbs that I need to replace when I am on site. They literally go out in front of my eyes. It's like they are just waiting for me to arrive before they die. LOL
Thanks for watching! We’re curious.. are you currently managing or planning on managing your short term rental property remotely? If so, how far away will you be?
Whats the pros and cons of doing this style of management vs hiring a management company for remote sites? I cant imagine you are gonna pay less to manage a property 12+ hour drive away then to hire a company to manage. Obviously a property within 100 miles could be doable for a monthly check in but I could not imagine 2000 miles every month or 2!
We have a property in Phoenix and we are looking to start managing ourselves from Los Angeles.. thank you for the videos.. how do you find an inspector
Depends. Some every 4 weeks or so, some once a quarter. I think the longest stretch we’ve gone is 6 months. But we also have a local assistant who is there before each guest.
Great video! How much do you pay your Perfection Inspection Person & do u pay per Inspection? I know it depends upon the market, but it would be great to get an idea of how much this adds to your expenses.
