My guess for baby girl's name is Nora/Norah. Two syllable, no nicknames, different initial than her siblings and it means light. Some other guesses would be Cora, Clara, Iris, Esther and Vera.
I feel like it’s gonna be daisy. She’s going all in on florals in the haul and she made a silly face when she said she thought the print was daisies. Some kind of floral name for sure, and can’t really be Rosie cause of the cousin. Maybe heather? Iris? Probable daisy
This list is the very one I go by. We're expecting our baby number eight in early February. I think I've settled in a girl name, but the boy names are tougher for me. I love the idea of using Jethro or Boaz, but I'm not settled just yet. So far we have a Mattix, Trenton, Evangeline, Felicity, Adelaide, Silas and Helena ( ha lay na). I definitely feel like it gets harder the more you have. I have literally looked at all those baby names lists over and over again. May YAH continue to guide your pregnancy and through labor and delivery! Blessings to you and your family!
I love this! I'm a mama who comes up with names well before it's time. If I have a girl next time she will be Susanna Kashia because my husband is Hmong and kajsiab (pronounced kashia) means peaceful or no worries. Another couple things to add if someone wants to be thorough is name meanings and initials
We're big on sharing our name choices before their birth purely because we largely don't care what others opinions of the name are and it avoids any accidental 'stealing' of the name before our baby is born. This actually saved our name in one instance where I was due around the same time as a friend of mine and they had their baby first and would have used the name we had for our baby had they not have know we were using it.
What I find funny is how Betty was my least favourite name out of your kids. But somehow that changed this year and alongside Hazel/Mabel it’s my absolute favourite right now 🥰
I have 3 kiddos. We chose names that weren’t in the top 100 names. The middle names are family names. The girls, I wanted an elegant sounding name with a nickname ending in the “ee” sound. My girls are Natalia (Nuh-tall-ee-uh) and Anneliese (Anna-lee-ss). They go by Tali (Hebrew pronunciation) and Annie. My son is Elliott. The most misspelled at this point is Elliott 🤦♀️
I got chatting with a girl from Sweden once, and she suggested I should have a shortened version of "Willow". She thought quietly for a while and then said "hmm. Willy is nice." After a minute of me just silently looking at her, she realised....
Only thing I'd add is pray about it. My husband and I struggled deciding on middle names with our second baby. We waited to find out baby's gender...as soon as we saw baby boy's face we knew instantly. 🥰
Love this, I've always been a bit obsessed with names and their meanings. So far we have: -Shiloh "tranquil and secure" (in heaven) -Michael(a) "who is like God?" (in heaven) -Abigail Rowena "my father's joy" "red-haired/rugged" -and Eliana Hope "my God has answered" "longing/good expectation" The struggle is when you like obscure names but your husband is like, "...... that's weird. Nope." But they're so pretty.... 😍😕
Such good tips. Were currently expecting our 4th and struggling so bad to find the right name. My first 2 had names very soon after we found out the gender but my 3rd didnt have a name until she was 4 days old. I feel like the more kids I have the harder it gets to find the perfect name for them! 😆
I'm pregnant with my 3rd and apparently i like names that start with vowels lol. All of our kids start with a vowel even though my baby name lists have lots of consonants 🤷🏻😆
Every time I have been pregnant, I have read all the name lists of the WORLD. 😅 I am Finnish and my husband is Italian, so our goal has been to find a name 1) we love 2) people in Italy and Finland can pronounce and write with problems 3) short name. I wish my kids would have more than one name, but in Italy it's complicated to have many names... We have always selected a name or two and decided on it when the baby was born. We didn't tell anyone the name beforehand and I highly recommend it!! ❤ You are right, people can be harsh and rude. Our three kids all have a name with four letters, two first have a Greek origin name, the third doesn't.
I'm a Jennifer and growing up i always hated how common my name was. I also disliked how I had no opportunity for a cool or different nickname. I had Jenn, or Jenny. So, when I started having kids, a big priority was avoiding the top 100 names (understanding that in a year or two, my chosen name COULD suddenly appear on that list) and to choose a name where my kids could have some choice with shortening it. I also like classic, and specifically Victorian or Georgian names. My husband is also Dutch, born and raised. English is not his first language, so he had to like it too, obviously, and be able to pronounce it. My first daughter is Beatrice. We currently call her Bea (beeya). As she gets older, she can choose the Dutch pronunciation, bey-a, she could also go by Trice, Betty, B, or her whole name, of course. My second daughter is Georgiana. We currently call her Georgie or Gigi. She could go by Georgia, Ana, Giana, George, etc. The middle names we reserve for heros of the faith. People whose stories had an impact on one of our lives. I'm currently pregnant with our third and definitely scrambling to find a name that would fit with my girls. We don't know the gender, yet. I'm certainly open to any suggestions!
I think I love traditional baby name! I also love names that don’t have nicknames since I was growing up with a nickname! I didn’t really love! We didn’t do this on purpose but all my boys names with a N at the end. My kids names are- Lilly Elizabeth Mason James Kaden Ray Landen Carter Greyson Cole
My themes were 1 biblical, 1 heritage( Irish) and they had to easily roll off the tongue! Oh yeah it had to MEAN something, but I have a "God is Deliverance" "Ardent and Fiery" and then I have a "little fire" "Salvation of the Lord." So far all the fire is showing up!
When a friend was pregnant with her youngest, I suggested Faith, she said they didn't like names that were qualities but went on to name the baby "Hope"...
I had a funny experience with name associations recently. We brought home a dog and I really wanted to name her Monica. I just looked at her and felt like that was her name! My husband (who's in his fifties, mind you!) just couldn't do it bc he knew a mean Monica in school. 😂🤦
I had my first child in july this year and we had a name set since week 12 in pregnancy. She came out looking like everything BUT that name so after a few weeks, we changed it to one that we didn’t even think about before. I’be always been quite judgemental of people who change name after it’s been communicated to family and friends! Totally get it now. If it’s not right, you just wont get used to it. 💗
You’ve also chosen a different first initial…is that something you consider? I think I’ve decided it’s one of my rules as we name baby #2 lol my guess for your baby girl #6 id Clara
We had the names picked out very quickly. We did have some "rules". We wanted to avoid as much as possible that mutiple children in the same class with that name. So that ruled out most of the popular names around here. Also as my work back then took me to Japan a lot and we have friends and family there we wanted a name they could pronounced (she is already stuck with a last name she has to spell her enitire life and people will pronounce wrong). But also as she grows up in The Netherlands, the name still needed to fit here. And my husband wanted a short name. My husband thought of both a boy and a girl name. Though I never really was sure about the boy's name, but we never had to use it as it was a girl. For a boy we picked out Kai, meaning oceans in Japanese. But as it was a girl we got to use that name, which is Saya. Her name means bright when you write it with a certein Japanese character. Just one downside of the name we later found out is that around that time the name Sarah became popular. And many people think that is her name so still she has to correct how she is called and spell it as it has an y in it. During pregnancy, though we shared it was a girl we kept the name till after she was born. so during pregnancy we called her chibi, which is a word meaning something like little in Japanese.
