In this video, I follow my friend Rogelio as he goes door to door asking home owners if he can pressure wash their driveway to pay for his college tuition. This might be the most fun I have had while filming and editing a video. Something about pressure washing is so satisfying!!!
Check out this other pressure washing series where we raised $1260 to buy a new computer.

Iv watched a few of these types of videos, I’m interested in starting a pressure washing business, I’m a junior in high school right now and would be willing to go door to door for jobs, but the question I have is how do you price the jobs you do? Or at least what’s a good price range for these types of jobs (for example what’s a cheap vs expensive price for a drive way cleaning?
@ForeMoney
@ForeMoney 3 года назад
Hey John, thanks for watching my video. I would say in the beginning don't try to get rich, you need experience, confidence, and a ton of before and after pictures of your work. Its ok to offer a low price in the beginning while you are still learning. you will get better with each house. I would say an average size driveway will be about $140 to $180. A huge 3 car driveway, curb, sidewalk, and patio might run about $200 or so. It also depends on what are you are targeting. Make sure to get a pressure washer and surface cleaner that are rated for the same PSI and GPM. Good luck man, keep me posted. =) Check out these other pressure washing videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VB-pezutcoM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YEW9bX2Mszg.html -Tony

I’m thinking about starting a pressure washing business. But I’m curious, do you need chemicals for a concrete driveway?
@ForeMoney
@ForeMoney Год назад
I would say yes... but just be careful with plants and vegetation. the only real chemical you will need it SH (Sodium Hypochlorite) aka Bleach, aka Clorox, etc.... most bottles have around 7.5% concentration of SH, just check the bottle. you can usually dilute it with water 1 to 1 and use a 3 to 4 % mix. Can you do it without chemicals, yes, but sometimes its better to spray the driveway afterwards and let it sit and evaporate. that last little splash of SH (bleach) will do wonders on a driveway. it kills any lingering gunk on the driveway/ sidewalk. now if you have oil stains, thats a diffferent story. water and bleach wont cut it. you need different chemicals and sometimes hot water. let me know how it goes!

When y’all are using two pressure washers at the same time are y’all using two separate spouts on the house
@ForeMoney
@ForeMoney 3 года назад
Hi, Kehler! That's a very good question. About 95% of the time we use 2 pressure washers and each is connected to its own spout on either side of the house. The only issue you may run into is low water pressure. Especially if the home owners are using the water inside the house or if they have a pool with a running fountain. You should be ok with using 2 at the same house, but just be prepared that this low water pressure issue can happen from time to time. What you can do instead is get one pressure washer going at one house and have someone walking door to door with the other pressure washer looking for more business. 2 machines working on 2 separate houses is the ultimate goal!!!! Good luck!

If you have a machine that powerful, throttle it down a bit and test it in an hidden area. If the kid was smart he’d avoid college and save up and start a legit pressure washing business. And this is coming from someone who has a ton of college loan debt, I wish I had started a pressure washer business and saved the college debt

I like the idea of D2D with such business, but are you still knocking during this raising COVID situation? Some many people tested positive and are quarantine themselves at home. Knocking on the doors right now is like asking for virus. I’m only asking because I was planning to start last year before the pandemic happened. now I’m putting everything on hold.
@ForeMoney
@ForeMoney 3 года назад
That's a valid point. We did this for one day earlier in the year and haven't done it since. Maybe people weren't answering the door for various reasons, but this was a one day thing. Thanks for watching.

What was his pitch

"Hi, my name is Rogelio. I just graduated from high school and I'm pressure washing driveways to save money for college. Would you like yours done today?" The key was rolling the pressure washer to each house so they knew we has ready to do it right there on the spot.

@@Zdj2014, depends on the size of the driveway. somewhere between $70 and up to $200. Most are around $90 to $100. I've done one for $160, but it was a huge driveway that took a few hours.

@@ForeMoney what state do you live in, because it seems like the amount you are charging would make you around $50 or an hour, where as I have seen beginners charger around $100 an hour so I’m just wondering if thats because we live in different states and the pressure washing market is different or if your just really low balling your jobs. Thanks for responding BTW!!

@@Zdj2014. I live in the Houston Texas area. There is a lot of competition here. Also, because we were trying to make sure we could get enough customers in one day to make the video, we priced our services really well. I think we could have charged around $140 for the 4 houses we show in the video, but we priced it so we could gain their business. ,You're right, we probably could have charged more. Thanks for checking out my video.

Did you guys uses chemicals?
@ForeMoney
@ForeMoney 2 года назад
In this video we did not use chemicals, just water. In other vidoes, we would spot treat with SH (Sodium Hypochlorite) AKA: Bleach. At least 8% by concentration. You can spot treat, or treat the whole area. We however only spot treat some stubborn areas.

Thanks for watching. We were trying to show that you can find jobs by just going door to door. We have other videos where we find the jobs ahead of time and some where we knock on doors. We improved with each house we did. They actually called us a few months ago and referred us to their neighbors. Its all about networking. We have since become pretty good and even upgraded our equipment and learned from our inefficiencies. Thanks again for watching.
