Hello! First of all, I really enjoyed your video. And it was super helpful for me. I also have a long layover planned in hongkong. How did you get a day pass with the recent covid restrictions going on?
hi Sierra, thanks for sharing. I am going to book a flight which there is 10 hours layover. Can i ask where you suggest to travel the most when i land at 16:00? and how you exchange the local currency there? also do you need to buy a separate sim card to use the wifi? Thanks in advance
What time did you land in Hong Kong? I have a 9 hour layover in a few weeks landing at 5:15 AM. I can't decide if it is worth it to go into the city that early or if everything will just be closed.
5:15 is earlier but you could do it. Figure you can clear the airport and make it to the city by 6:30. By 7 there should be some breakfast spots open. You could pick one neighborhood to explore and one “attraction” around 9am before heading back to the airport around noon? I think victora peak tram starts running early on weekends.

Yes, US citizens can now enter Hong Kong again, but check their website for latest updated: hk.usconsulate.gov/u-s-citizen-services/covid-19-information/#:~:text=Are%20U.S.%20citizens%20permitted%20to,All%20American%20citizens%20may%20enter.
Hello! I have a 22 hour layover in Hong Kong and I'm traveling alone! Is it safe enough for me to roam around in the city and stay alone at a hotel overnight?
Hi, How were you able to leave the airport during the layover? Did you have to do a PCR test before hand? We have a 10 hour layover in Hong Kong before our layover in Thailand. Could you please explain the process? Did you also have to get your luggage?
Hi, you need to take a PCR test before travel to Hong Kong, even for a transit through or layover. Once you land, you clear HK immigration where they give you a “day pass”. Then you are free to enter Hong Kong only. You don’t need to pick up your bags, they will be transferred to your next flight. We flew Cathay Pacific.
@@S2ChikiyoS2 Always always get the latest updates from the official government website or the airlines you're travelling with. COVID requirements change quite frequently especially for Hong Kong. Starting from June 1st for example, PCR test is no longer required for transit passengers.
Not any more - only rapid test necessary , and no more quarantine, only 3 days of no bars and restaurants, and a few PCRs after arrival. For more specifics, check the HKSAR governments website (the policy is called 0+3 as of today)
Hi, yes but for Hong Kong only. they grant you a “day pass”. It is not valid for mainland China or Macao. If you want to go to China or Macao, there is a separate immigration desk.
