I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia. It is my goal here on the channel to visit every country in southeast Asia and bring you along the journey.
You won’t see many tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.

Great to see you finally in HK. One of my favourite places in the world. I’ve visited at least 25+ times. The transportation system is one of the best, if not the best in the world whether you take a bus, the MTR, taxi or Ding Ding. The latter a must to see HK from the front seat, upstairs on a tram. Also make sure you take the bus from Central to Stanley Market and again grab the front seat upstairs. One of the best rides in the world on twisty coastal roads. So many things to see and do and did I mention the food! Have a blast, I have never ever been disappointed in Hong Kong!

Although MTR is convenient, the airport line is a premium service and is therefore considerably more expensive. Plus, you would often need to change trains. A more hassle free way to go from airport to city would be by airport bus, which takes you directly to many places, has English announcements, and is usually at least 50% cheaper than the MTR airport line. For example, for Dorsett Tsuen Wan where Ken was staying in, bus A32 takes you directly to a nearby bus terminus, 4 minutes walk from the hotel, and it costs only HK$19.8 (roughly US$2.5). For the Blue Girl Beer, although it's German it's among the most popular choices of locals. Hongkongers are used to drink beers of foreign brands, like Carlsburg, Heineken and Asahi.

Never know that corner hotel room is one of the best...away from the noises, good tip, Ken. Yeah, you will be hearing lots of Cantonese and eating lots of Cantonese food there. Wow, those char siew which come in lean and fatty parts, look very juicy indeed. That plate of choy sam ( veggies ) is yum yum too. Lots of oil and garlics are used, that's why you can see the veggies look shiny. Great that you have a yummilicious dinner. Another interesting video with amazing content. "Doh Jeh" Ken. Sometimes "Mm Goy" can also be used ( Both mean thanks ) Can't wait for your next Hong Kong adventures.

Hello Ken, glad to see this video. Like yourself I was so excited to visit Hong Kong for the first time back in 1974. Of course it was quite different then as a Colony. It was also the time of Mao's Red Guards and in Hong Kong (but not elsewhere in SE Asia) you could buy a blue Chairman Mao-style suit in Hong Kong (made in China and sold in mainland China department stores in Hong Kong) and wear it when walking around outside. If you were to do that in SE Asia you risk being arrested by the police.

Been to Hong Kong twice. Visited Lantau island, Victoria's Peak, Disneyland and so on. But nothing was more magical to me than the train ride to Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The train went past rural areas (village) in Guangzhou during sunset and the people there just stopped work to enjoy the sunset on hilltops which was breathtaking and unforgettable.

Great that you are in Hong Kong. It is a city I have visited frequently for the past 10 years and love the food and transport system immensely. Transport by busses and MRT is cheap compared to the western world. Taxis are a little dearer but still affordable and convenient. Food is great and most convenient. I would recommend you try a few other places which offer cheap delicious food for the common Hong Kongers such as Cafe De Coral, Maxim and Fairwood. These are food chains but serving authentic local cuisine also sometimes with a bit of fusion of South East Asia and Japan in some dishes. The menu changes every now and then and they are located everywhere. Just google these food chains. Don't leave Hong Kong till you try the milk tea, a much localised version of the English tea, probably alike the tea-tarik in Malaysia with a twist. Do enjoy your stay there. I shall follow your every video on Hong Kong most attentively.
