This video was an absolute joy to watch. You had me laughing out loud! My sewing room is our dining room. My husband recently asked when we could actually use the room for eating (silly man!) I keep separate reels of thread in small plastic bags with a matching full bobbin - and, yes, I keep my threads colour-coded in plastic boxes. Some of my fabrics are so lovely I can’t bring myself to use them! I’m surely not alone in this!!
@tracymassey4764. I use to think like you about my special fabrics. Then I said to myself ( if I do t use this Beautiful fabic someone else will use it when I leave this earth.) Well that's not going to happen 😂😂😂. I love using my special fabrics now..❤🧵❤
Oh my gosh. You two are hilarious. I totally enjoyed this video. You made me laugh but also gave me great tips for storage. I’m right in the middle of getting my sewing room organized. Thank you.
You two ladies are such a breath of fresh air. Watching this really cheered me up. I have just reclaimed my loft sewing room and need storage ideas. Especially as I don’t have any full height walls. Thank you
You two are an absolute hoot. It amazes me the capacity of the brain. Quilters can remember the details of every scrap of fabric in their stash. Tell me this. - Do you ever forget where you put something in your sewing space?
You’re adorable, and I love your tips. Now I’m looking forward to see how Katrina makes her postcards and how Jeannette uses those little pieces of scraps. I encourage you to make future videos, please 🙏🏼. Thank you so much. I enjoy this time with you.
What lovely ladies! Fun to watch. I recently went to the studio about my sewing machine , the young lady who helped me was so nice and helpful. Lovely, friendly and very helpful . Many thanks! ,
👏👏👏 Organized, scruffy around the edges, madness, envy, overspill, double trouble… 😝🤣🤣 This was absolutely wonderful! I will say I love all of y’all’s ideas🤔 y’all are just the greatest!! Thanxabunch❤️😀
I use tins, baskets, rattan picnic baskets, whatever my DH would bring home from the auction to keep my bits, buttons, zips etc in. You two are so enjoyable as well as informative to watch! Thanks
This was a delight. Gave me much needed smiles and laughter. I have to say I am not as organized as either of you dear ladies, but I do store some items like both of you. Please do more videos like this, I think it is my favorite yet.
I was raised by a true dressmaker/tailor, yet never overcame my zip-o-phobia. I decided that my “hand set” zippers were an artistic statement, rather than a fear of zips!
This vid made me howl with laughter What you girls failed to mention is the mandatory extra bedroom (sun facing to let in the natural light) with a wall of shelving to accommodate all those awesome storage boxes. Pleased these are available on line, my only fear is I would buy loads!!! I would only add that you missed using the DYMO Label Maker for identifying all those boxes & tins easily. Have fun and thanks for this informative clip!
What a fun video!Regarding using bits to make enough fabric for a mini-charm... Most of the antique and vintage family quilts i have inherited have a "pieced piece" in them. To honor those ancestors, i put a pieced piece somewhere in my quilts.
I was ooing and arrring . Fabulous just thoroughly enjoyed seeing you both and your love of fabric and keeping it treasured. I’ve only just found you and am binge watching as a new sewist that’s fallen down this glorious rabbit hole 😍👏🏼😂 new subbie xxx🎉
I love that you save the ribbons that are tied around precuts. I do too. I found an old garden rake with a broken handle, screwed it to the wall in my sewing room. Whenever I get a ribbon, cute selvage, or a bit of lace , I hang it from the tines.
Thank you both. I so enjoyed having my tea time with you lovely ladies. I'm going to apply some of your digestion's in my sewing room as well. This was fun.🎉😂❤
These ladies are delightful!! I love, love the accents! What a wonderful paring of talent, skills & ideas. I would love to take them home & keep them. Shawn-United States.
You’re Lovely both Jeanette and Katrina. 🥰 I have boxes from IKEA for my fat quarters, charms, jellies and by colors. Biscuits boxes for little scraps, selvedges… and almost the same little boxes for bobbins and threads… in my sewing studio at home! I love wagging your you tube channel Katrina from France. Thank you for your tips and smiles. It’s always a great pleasure watching you 🤗
You girls would go crazy with all the scraps I’ve saved : including selvages. I’ve been making the 31/2 “ squares for color wash But not even a dent in the scraps. I’d have a ball with you both. Thanks for the laughs 😂
You two girls are such a hoot together! I chuckled so many times while watching this video. Only Quilter's would understand. May I ask where in the UK you're from. Your accent sounds a bit different from what I'm used to hearing when I listen to people from the UK.
Loved this. I have recently set up a sewing space and have loved organising things but would have loved a sewing friend to share ideas with. My 8yo grandson thinks it's an amazing space but not quite the same.
You ladies are so funny. I enjoyed this video. You made me look at my own storage in my sewing room too. Oh, I do have a few of your storage boxes and use them. I just need more 😃
Oh! what a great video ladies it made me laugh and brightened up the end of my day . Thank you for all your tips on storage (must do my fabric storage!) mine just sit in a drawer but no more ! what a treat you gave us xx
Loved this video. You are 100% correct looking at someone else’s fabric is so much more fun. I like superior threads bottom line 60 wt polyester thread for EPP, it’s very strong but also very fine so my stitches disappear.
This was enjoyable and fascinating. But I'm trying to bring less new plastic into the house so I felt a bit conflicted. I too have tins and also reuse shoeboxes but it's not always ideal.
I save the selvages and other too narrow pieces to tie up my tomato and pepper plants. Of course i do not use red pieces for the tomato plants as I then think that i have one ready to pick! Loved the video.
What fabulous ideas! Im going to think about the thread ones right away! Could we have a tutorial on that wee zippered pouch soon? Thanks for all the great content!
Loved this video. Thanks ladies. Fairly newish to sewing and didn’t even think about aurifil or gutterman bobbins. I have stored mine all in the same bobbin ring! Could explain some issues with some sewing! Love the idea of cutting into squares ready for some scrappy projects. Thank you 😊
@@marywiggins7411 More demand, more manufacture, oil product. Climate change surely you get the problem. We are a consumer society and need to be more thoughtful and reuse what we have got which was the whole idea of using scraps in the first place📛
