MJOLNIR-ARMOUR/EGYPTIAN-POWER ARMOUR/POWER-ARMOUR-COOLANT-SYSTEM/VENTILATION-SYSTEM A Egyptian power armour will need small, twin ventilation and coolant system. These will be outfitted near the shoulder [blades] of the wearer/user. They will resemble large, bulky protrusions (like twin backpacks) that system from the shoulder area, as though they were wings. This complex ventilation system is what makes the power armour comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Like the life support system, the ventilation and coolant system will need to be monitored and regulated by an in-built Ai system. Update (08/03/2022): I wonder if slime-mold [technology] can be utilized to optimise the efficiency of the ventilation system, i.e. to integrate a thin suit-made of living slime mold (if successful, this would also help to minimise weight of the power armour, thus aiding and ensure that energy is spent elsewhere). The slime-mold suit will need to make contact with the wearer/user; where it can conduct heat and other biological waste (such as sweat, and potentially dead blood cells from a bleeding wound) away from the user, and expel it near the air-ducts or any other preferred location. NOTE: Egyptian power-armour will combine the functionality of a thin space suit (like that seen in "space X's space suit"), a basic medical, life support system and monitors, and finally a knights suit of armour. The suit will electronic, and obviously computerized (assisted by a combination of AI systems). When it action, it will be somewhat fluent, and capable of making fluid action and movement, despite being a robotic suit (LLMs that are dedicated to mimicking natural body moment in fluid motion will comprise the majority of the suit's AI output). Lastly, the suit will need to be water resistant (water resistant spray, that is difficult to chip and wear out after extended usage will be preferred), and its ventilation system will be integrated with a small filtration system. This will make the suit resistant to poison or environments with airborne, hazardous substance. NOTE: A tough plastic material should be utilised on the exterior of the [Egyptian] power-armour. While being weather resistant and durable, its primary pose will be to give the power armour form (so that it looks futuristic and formidable-further adding to its ability to function as a deterrence), as well as double as additional shock-absorption/shock-dampener. The material will then need to be painted with metallic paint, so as it give it a metallic aesthetic in its composition (deceit/material mimicry).

This is probably the most likely thing barring something insane like having a whole planet for himself, I have little doubts that if his demands were reasonable or weren't against the interest of the UNSC that he would be granted it. I would argue the same is probably true for the other spartan 2s and most other Spartans if they desired such except maybe the Spartans 4s but that would probably change with time as well. Besides why would they want the public relations disaster of denying a savior of humanity.

I'd like Chief to have his "Warrior in a Garden" moment. I wish Microsoft had given him a happy ending at this point, mostly because he's just so tired (conceptually and literally). 4 was a perfect place to end on for him, they just needed to go *a little bit further* with it. He wouldn't have been caught in all their messy writing that came afterwards, too. If they had retired him and focused on some of the side content (like the books), and started over with a new Spartan 3/4, maybe their games wouldn't have been so harshly disliked.

Not entirely true all service members in every branch gets BAH and BAS it shows up in your LES but it automatically gets taken out you never actually see it. Because living in the barracks and eating at the chow hall isn’t free. Now you can apply to leave the bricks and get housing at the rank of E-4(rarely does that happen unless the bricks are full) mainly at E-5 do they allow this more. And in doing so you get all your BAH and BAS. So long as you choose to not live in on base housing as you will lose all BAH even if you have a house that is lower in cost compared to what you get in BAH i.e. if your house on base is let’s say $1500 a month and you get $2000 for BAH you lose that extra $500.

There is also his uniform allowance that he should get at the end of every year which is about $250-$300. An excellent shot at trying to get an idea of Chief's backpay, definitely a nigh impossible thing to suss out given the sheer amount of unknowns! There'd also be re-enlistment bonuses (NCOs will reup every few years if they keep deciding to stay in), Imminent Danger Pay (which can be collected concurrently with Hazard Pay), travel pay (for PCSing between duty stations), Jump Pay (keeping your airborne qual gives you a little bit), sea duty pay (space deployment pay in Chief's case), sniper school pay, dive training pay, language cert pay, and a bunch of other little things that can add up. So Chief is likely a good deal more loaded than even the damn good attempt that came up with a bit over $4 million.

Chief probably wouldn't get BAS or BAH because he lives on base and has food provided to him. However, he would receive additional pay like special duty pay, jump pay, demo pay, hazard pay, and tax free for his deployments in combat zones. Also with the way the the navy works he would have to wait 6 months before he starts getting payed for each rank he makes, because those 6 months are considered a probationary period.

There is also the uniform allowance, the Special Warfare Bonus, the bonus for being the Leading NCO of Spartan Command and reenlistment bonuses, and the UNSC equivalent of the Medal of Honor Pension. Also note : Because this is the navy, after being promoted, the accompanying bumps in pay can be delayed by several months, especially for a field promotion. This also does not take in to account garnished wages for things like : The PT gear he wore in Spartan Boot Camp, toiletries, payments for the Life Insurance Policy and GI Bill, non-mjolnir uniforms, etc. But I acknowledge that's all a bit much for a ballpark estimate like we're going for in this video. Here's my speculative question though : Who would the Spartans have listed the recipients for their Life Insurance Policy?

Congress votes on a general cost of living adjustment every year (tends to average around 2-3% a year). So potentially much more if you factor the year over year increases to base pay. Plus another layer is that depending on where you are deployed, your pay for that month is tax free.

The problem is our society thinks too much about money . Chief doesn't think like that . If he would retire the UNSC should take care of everything needed for him to live the rest of his life with no problems. To survive as an interstellar civilisation humanity would definitely have to evolve beyond current Capitalism. Hey, I'm an active duty Marine, upon receiving his field promotion to Master Chief he would start making base pay for said rank. BAH and BAS rates don't change dependent on rank, they change based off of location. I hope this helps and adds a little more to your calculations.
@princeps6241
@princeps6241 6 месяцев назад
Military here. BAS is provided for all members but is deducted immediately if you eat in the mess hall. BAH is provided typically after becoming an SNCO, depending on duty station, to allow said SNCO to live off post. It is, however, provided immediately if you are married and wish to live out of the barracks, regardless of rank. Since Chief lived, presumably, in military housing such as barracks or a ship’s troop quarters his entire career, he would not be entitled to BAH. Considering he presumably ate in the mess hall his entire career, which is likely the case, he would have BAS deducted immediately and therefore is not entitled to it.

Few of things to consider: this doesn't account for any inflation or any changes in how currency/service is handled. It's quite possible, and even probable that the economy of the world is different than today. I'm sadly not as versed in material outside of the games and main talking points in videos on youtube (Such as the Diadact not staying fucking dead or Guilty Spark's new body), so unless there's a canon source for currency, economy, etc for us to draw on, there's little way to figure this out. Another thing is that we all gotta consider that the UNSC/ONI may consider the Gen II Spartans as just military hardware. When you kidnap children and indoctrinate them while creating flash clones to then die so there's no actual family to compensate when they die, it kinda implies you have no intention on paying these people any form of compensation. Gen III are similar, given they were sent into suicide missions and were also teenagers/young adults who's entire family was dead. Gen IV Spartans are probably the only ones who will see actual compensation for their service, and that's probably why people within the UNSC are looking to recreate the Master Chief and are actually considering going the child soldier route again. If they can justify it as a necessary step, much like Halsey did, they'll probably do it.
@TheHannukahZombie
@TheHannukahZombie 7 месяцев назад
You can pretty much remove BAH and BAS because serving aboard a UNSC ship he wouldn’t have rated being paid either. This calculation is off by quite a bit because the Navy doesn’t pay everyone either or both of those additional payouts.

Another inconsistency of this is that hed never get (BAH) or (BAS) because you have to apply for that, which he never would, ( for they’d never let a Spartan live of base or go off base to eat. So he’d still have a lot of money since he never spent any of it. Hazard pay is also variable to where you located at, same as TIS (Time in service) which exponentially grows as the longer you’ve been in so you really couldn’t accurately give a solid number without the hard numbers that the UNSC would give which there’s no references for so it’s not on you but you did pretty decent.

You need to also consider awards and certifications because that also is an addition to his paycheck. For example, in the US earning the medal of honor, gives you a bit of a pay boost. By my last information, the middle of honor gives you an additional pension of $1300 a month. Also, being an in special operations, gives you a pay boost as well.

Something to keep in mind is that service members dont actually see our BAH and BAS in our paychecks. Its allotted to us, but then taken away by our command to offset the cost of housing/feeding us, you only typically get to keep it if you HAVE dependents or are buying your own food. Then while Chief wouldve started as an E-1 like most of us, the way our ranks work is that after a certain amount of time doing honorable service (not getting in trouble) we typically earn our promotions up to E-3 with very little requirements. So he wouldve likely made it to E-3 (Seaman) with pretty much no pomp and circumstance. So he wouldve only been E-1 for about 6 months, then E-2 for maybe 9 months, then stuck at E-3 for the rest of that period before becoming a petty officer of any sort. On top of all that, while we do get periodic pay increases just based on our time in service, it does have a cap after a certain amount of time. (You cant be an E-1 for 10 years and expect to earn more than someone whose been an E-1 for 1 year). Oh, and while deployed in a combat zone, our military pay isnt taxable, so we get the combat pay AND dont have taxes on it. So that might skew the numbers youre working with here. Just things to keep in mind! Love your work and your in-depth look into this universe! You make it all feel so much more vibrant and full of life! (Sorry for any typos, I'm tired😅)

That's actually incorrect, on two points. 1. You calculated his pay based on his rank (E-1 through E-9) but failed to factor in his rate- that is, what his job is in the Navy. Was he a Corpsman, or a Mass Communications Specialist? No, he was (presumably) a Naval Special Warfare Operator. Which means he would have been paid SIGNIFICANTLY more than what you calculated. 2. When you stated he 'wouldn't get his salary' due to not being at 10 years of service, that is incorrect. Regardless of ToS, you are paid for your rank, no exceptions. You also failed to factor in Sea Duty Pay, which is an extra pay given to sailors who are serving on a warship, although I'm not 100% sure how this would factor in to Halo and the Chief. This is coming from a 20 year Navy veteran and retired Master Chief, so do believe that I know what I'm talking about.

BAH is based on where you live and changes every year. It typically goes upward, but I have seen it decrease sometimes(at least where I live). New York and San Francisco are some of the highest in the nation at around $4,000.00 for an E7. Plus, there are other special pay incentives that I'm sure the Master Chief qualifies for, such as jump pay and overseas.

It should also be noted that he would have accumulated a total of 1290 leave days over his career. Which upon clearing from the Navy he could sell for the equivalent base pay. And given that he was in a combat zone the pretty much entire it would be untaxable. Now the problem of course is that you can only accumulate and sell up to 60 days of leave, but that cap has been lifted or raised when taking leave is not feasible (like the covenant war) so it’s possible the cap could have been raised or removed altogether.
