9:55 This raises an interesting question. If the Gravemind we meet in Halo 2 was a result of the containment breach shortly after the array fired, then would that mean that the Flood in CE were already at the Coordinated stage upon release? If so, was the Proto-Gravemind they were making on the Truth and Reconciliation's bridge actually an effort to free the Gravemind from its prison on Installation 05? I've never heard it portrayed that way before, but it would explain some of the surprisingly high intelligence shown by the Flood in CE.
What would you extrapolate the crew and complement of a CSO class Super Carrier (Ex- Long Night of Solace) to be? As well as vehicle and fighter counts?
Why are gen 2 Spartans not cloned? Cloning is a thing in the Halo-verse and it is implied that only “flash cloning” or fast cloning has deteriorating effects when used to clone an entire body. Why not slow clone an entire army of Spartan 2’s?
In the Spartan armors durability part you may be a little bit disiniformed or not up to date as recent armors with the shields can withstand bullets from machine guns and even receive direct hits from the Hunter's canons, in lore the armors are way more durable and it takes more than a single sniper bullet to take down even the shields.
Usually when i visit quora the answers completely derail the question into some political topics or it is that one war criminal / terrorist living in germany boasting about his AK rifle in the balkan wars.
…. Bro the, saying some bs like “we’d have to retool all the character models” is a lie an a cope. Let’s not pretend that they aren’t using the same skeletons from other games or that they couldn’t. I don’t buy their piss poor excuse at all. Other games did it, they just don’t WANT TO which is very different then “it’s low priority”
The argument may have a point considering how technically fucked the slipspace engine is, but the fact it's such a colossal problem in their own words means they had zero focus or care on having assassinations in the game in the first place, on a game that had double the development time of previous Halos 🤨
What if when the suit runs out of armor energy, it starts dumping some of the damage into the Slayer because he's so tough and is easier to repair because he's made out flesh that can heal through various means both supernatural and sci-fi.
I suggest breaking down Starcraft (mainly Starcraft 2) armors, with Terran Marine armor being the first! >-< If that's ain't appealing, we could first compare the Doom Slayer's skins to the base skin reviewed here, then Sentinel and UAC (primeraly DOOM 2016 multiplayer) armors, with other DOOM (mainly Eternal) armors later down the line!
Reapers were a lot cooler and more interesting before Mass Effect 3. Like what brainlet thinks to stop synthetics killing organics, it is a good idea to build the ultimate synthetic? And what artificial intelligence designed to solve that problem thinks REPLICATING THAT EXACT PROBLEM FOR ETERNITY is the best idea?! Honestly, that ending made Sovereign sound like an edgy tryhard in retrospect, because he knows his beginning. And the Reaper on Rannock apparently couldn't explain a very simple concept. Honestly the disrespect of Harbinger was also just...a shame.
I've always found Halsey's relationship with John (as shown through the prism of Cortana) fascinating. Espescially given Cortana's comments in the Halo 3 intro "They let me pick" "A natural leader" "You had something they didn't" "Something no one saw but me... luck" Cortana being created from Halsey's mind makes this interesting.
Another great video! A little too deep down the rabbit hole with philosophical / existential interpretation for my liking; regarding the reclaimers are the reader / player etc. But, all 00 content is good content so onwards we travel this great journey to that sweet, sweet domain.
The sound the Reapers make always give me chills. I remember when I completed 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' there’s an audio log you can listen to. It’s set around the time Shepherd was looking for Primarch Fedorian during 'Mass Effect 3'. One of the Turrian commanders was giving a report when a Reaper attacked. Hearing that ominous sound brought a big smile to my face.
Chief, on paper, has that physical advantage, but I wish you’d have approached the mentality of both Spartans aswell. I’ve personally always looked at chief as the loud badass, but 6 is the subtle undetectable assassin of the halo series. Like Green Arrow vs Batman. And everyone would say Batman wins for one reason. He’s just smarter and always better prepared. However I understand that doesn’t follow the more statistical approach to your argument. I feel like in these fights there’s just no way noble 6 WOULDNT give himself an unfair advantage by doing something like throwing sand in the eyes or breaking a window to make a shiv out of the glass. I’d really like to see a video talking about the actual play by play and what each party would do. Not to say six would win every time or anything, I just think that realistic mentality based approach might make for an interesting follow up video.
The Reapers are another example of a group writing themselves into a corner. An enemy so powerful you have to invent a McGuffin FOR another McGuffin just to end it.
The Reaper motivation and background fluff i.e. "breaking the cycle", "harvesting organics to preserve them" collapses the moment anyone spends more than a minute thinking about it. It is terrible writing dressed up in highfalutin sounding concepts.
I could never understand how people liken the look of the reapers to squids, they look way more like some sort of hybrid arachnid to me, like a spider-scorpion-tick-hybrid.
I kind of go with halo show for how dr halsey figured the genetic from forerunner genetic pieces but there are some people more choosen to be reclaimers then other.
Pretty simple concept: Bungie Universe: All Humans are Reclaimers because Humans are Forerunners. 343 Industries Universe: Only specific Humans are Reclaimers who have the chosen genesongs the Librarian put in Humanity's genepool to be passed down.
Honestly makes no sense that Spartans don’t carry energy swords or hard light blades. That’s how Spartan Horvath beat Gorian. He would’ve fared so much better with an energy weapon or melee weapon, even picking up an improvised weapon like a steel beam or warthog driveshaft, anything better than nothing.
I had this same notion playing through the games, especially when Bungie was making them. Even Destiny also coming from Bungie hints at a soul beyond the world of the game.
Maybe the indesirfable mathematics included in the transmissions were the base form or "code" for the Logic Plague, indeciferable for organic bio matter as its incompatible, but exactly what an inorganic life form would need to be infected. It was a kind of clawing back into real space remotely by a Gravemind that existed at the time, maybe not as it would have had all of Halseys information if it had been infected.
I believe all Humans are Reclaimers. Examples include Johnson, Miranda, Scientist girl from halo wars (forgot her name), and I'm pretty sure that one human the banished captured to open the harbingers capsule thing. All these people have no specialties about them. However, then you have 343 actively retconning this with things like the TV show. So idk it's a whole cluster f*** at this point.
