Hey guys. Hope you guys enjoy this unscripted mess of a video. apologies if it is quite long but hopefully it shows what the machine is currently capable of. Have a goos one!
I like to erase the hard drives and install Linux mint on these older computers. Everything Works great with the exception of gaming. I have given away a lot of these computers to wife's family members in Mexico to help them out.
An e8400 and R7 240 2gb GDDR5 would be a big upgrade. Just make sure you get the GDDR5 version of the R7 240. It's more powerful than a Gt 730, and you can overclock it right in the AMD software.
They don't hold up very well for gaming, I got a stack of them from a job site and wondered what I could do with them. I decided to put them to use running pfsense for a router and two pi-holes for network ad blocking and recursive dns. Works great with my Gig internet.
Thats actually a good use case! I was originally trying to upgrade this thing to a core 2 quad but when I tried, it just gave the typical HP beep code for cpus. Even an e7400 didnt work. I wish gig internet was more accessible here in terms of pricing.
@@Theutmostgeek The e7400 is not on the list of compatible cpus with 3010 SFF. Compatibles: e7500, e7600, e8400, e8500, e8600, and some c2q (9550 and 9650 for the best performance)
