Many elements have various pathways that were responsible for creating their many isotopes. This video highlighted some of the basic pathways found in first generations stars and the r-process in supernovae, though many more exist. I recommend looking through some of the references below to learn more.

1:57 Correct me if im mistaken, but I do believe Iron CAN in fact be fused. The reason Iron is the threshold for stars is that fusion for iron no longer expels excess energy, but requires energy to fuse. In other words, Hydrogen being fused shoots lots of excess energy outward maintaining the stars physical structure and preventing the mass of the star from collapsing in on itself. But given that Iron requires energy to fuse, as opposed to expelling it, the expulsion of energy is no longer present to maintain the equilibrium between the inward gravitational force, and outward expulsion of energy.

Excellent summary! Thank you so much; I was hoping to find something that could explain this succinctly to a friend and now I'm going to pass him on this clip. Thank you very much again

2:49-2:51 Nickel is an exception, and trace amounts of elements 95 to 99 have been found in the universe.

How come 1 number of proton difference can form 2 different elements?

@Abhishek Tandon OOF i was just asking how the begging of these elements came from the big bang forming elements or else as u say we just have to believe that chemistry is miracle learn whatever u were taught by teachers don't ask questions, LOL!

Since neutrons are neutrally charged, it's the positive charge of the protons that allows the negatively-charged electrons to do their thing, - gaining numbers, losing numbers, switching, sharing, changing states. Every chemical process on Earth, from life to explosions to light bulbs to the weather is the result of what happens when electrons do their thing. At least, I think it's "every" chemical process. Danged near, for sure . Hope that helps.
