In 2016, Slush brought together 17,500 attendees, including 2,336 startups, 1,146 investors and 610 journalists from 124 countries. People from more than half of the world’s countries traveled to the cold and dark Helsinki, with the ambition of taking their business to the next level.
Slush is a non-profit event organized by a community of entrepreneurs, investors, students and festival organizers. I love klarna, I've used it over 10x I never even use a credit card of my own and on top of that the fact that I am able to make payments without an interest rate...awesome ideal!

It got more difficult to pay with cards online also, with all the increased security, then Klarna came along. Good timing, I think. 😀 True also that if a company has a lot of money it doesn't mean automatically that the company will be successful in other areas. Microsoft didn't compete successfully against the iPod with the Zune and not either with their antivirus software against other brands. Some people thought that Microsoft would outcompete other brands because of all its resources, it didn't happen. History is full of similar examples. That's why Tesla might be successful because the large established companies doesn't have the drive and the entrepreneurial spirit.

That's true. I think people over estimate the impact big money has on innovation. I would rather argue that they're so pressed into maintaining status quo and losing what they already have that building something new and innovative just isn't in their DNA. Great work done by Sebastian and the team. Klarna has all the ingredients to truly disrupt the global credit card market for good.
