I don’t really see Black as being mean here. He just doesn’t know how to tell someone, “good job” because he’s never had to do it genuinely. In a way, I think that was the first time he actually tried to be kind to someone.
When I first heard that line of dialogue, I thought that he was accusing me of turning traitor and joining the Loyalists. So, yeah, he might've been trying to compliment me. Also, if he *was* trying to accuse me somehow, then I think he should instead be more grateful. Besides, I didn't see *him* down there when the castle was gonna be blown to Hell by Ranrok. And shouldn't the Headmaster of Hogwarts, of all people, have been down there with the teachers anyways? Above all, it was the Headmaster's duty to protect the students of the school. But I theorize that the reason he wasn't down there is because he's a coward and would've soiled his pants upon seeing the Ranrok Dragon. And he's too prideful to let others see that side of him.
I wonder how Black would have reacted if the student was a pureblood. From some data mining it was found that lineage (in our case being a pure-blood) was also mixed in gameplay but was cut along curfew, morality, relationships, companions etc
@Azuri e yes but it was dropped early just like curfew, unlike relationships and companions that you can still find almost finished. For example there is a mod for companions and they have voice lines. Also there are "relation points" saved for your character (although their use is not clear... For example I had 60something on an "evil" playthrough while I had 120+ on a "good" one with roughly the same missions completed
I'm kinda sad that those things were all cut. Morality and curfew in particular are two things I would have loved, and companions would have been pretty great too.
Now those useless sneaking missions make sense. Really wish they had implemented the curfew. Would have made the stealth gameplay more useful than just opening those chests
I was bummed that Black wasn't in the battle. I had hoped that when the Pillar fell and the camera panned to reveal who caught it that it would be Black. Sort of a Snape moment. Or CJ from the Dawn of the Dead remake. I like it when unlikeable(but not evil) characters get a moment to show that when it matters most, they're capable of stepping up.
Black was the WORST headmaster hogwarts ever had to stay solidified as the worst headmaster means phineas black can NOT have any moments of redemption that might sway hearts

I thought the whole point of setting this game in the 1800s was so they could avoid having to use canonically established characters.(with obvious exceptions for the ghosts and such)
@@TheCrimsonRevenger yes that is established in the book canon phineas nigellus black was the worst headmaster hogwarts ever had that IS because both the students and faculty DESPISED him and his pompous lazy vain self, you can even hear a student in the game in school talk about how the quidditch ban is the final nail in the coffin on his reputation. If im not mistaken it was out of sirius's own mouth to harry coukd be wrobg on that though... Also it's worth noting when arthur weasley was attacked by nagini that when dubledore asked phineas to alert molly and sirius he originally refused to visit his other portrait and relay the message until the other headmaster portraits jumped his case about being honor bound to serve the current headmaster and that he only knows insubordination and deriliction of duty... Anyways even the other headmaster portraits acknowledge him as the worst even dumbledores predecessor armando dippet was saying shame on him for his insubordinate attitude and its only after a portrait of a witch with a long thick wand threatens him that he relays the message.

As the portret that relayed information (Dumbledore and Snape, Harry, Ron and Hermoine) between Grimmauld place and Hogwarts, since his portret was in both locations (later in Hermoine's bag) and he could move freely between them. It is how Snape knew where to bring the sword of griffindor. Great great grandfather to Bellatrix Le strange , Narcissa Malfoy, Sirius Black even Arthur Weasley. That makes him great great great grandfather to both Draco and Ron, Ginny, etc... So since Harry marries Ginny. ...... So I'd wager he is pretty important to the Harry Potter lore.
I just realized, apart from Black (obviously) and Binns, not all of the teachers were in the cut scene to appear in the final battle to assist you and Fig despite acknowledging what you had done for the school and the wizarding world in this video. Only five of them were in the scene.
Shah specialized in astronomy, Kogawa in flying, Howin in beasts, Garlick in herbs I don't think they would be much of a help in battle and even Onai is professor of divination, but she seems to be a powerful witch back in her hometown, I think that's why she was in the battle What I don't get is why Black wasn't there:/ Wasn't he supposed to be super powerful or something?
@@SaphireKancer90 well maybe there was a battle on the castle, like battle of hogwarts, with dragons, trolls, werewolves, goblins, and a good number of dementors. It would be really cool if in a cutscene, we get to see what happened beyond the map chamber.
@@samanthamorgan9093 Yeah, it was Sharp. When Sharp popped in it first showed him appearing in the background then the scene shifted to him, so it might have created the illusion of two bearded men showing up close together

Might I add something I find weird? Most of the Profesors there are international kind, meanwhile pass a few and you get the Harry Potter story with fully British teachers and not a single foreigner in sight, since Filtwick is a British part goblin. Not even an Irish man Also, I'm happy the series is fictitious since if not I would go on the tangent of Hogwarts being used to ensure the fact that England remains on top, especially ensuring Scotland remains to Britain a n that is kinda....
It is weird that most teacher are internationals during the height of British Empire no less, when Britain is colonizing rest of the world. I suppose these international teacher have sold out and joined the winning side. Traitors, in all truth.
Other teachers' absence in the battle was understandable since some of them aren't specialized in dueling. Phineas Black is just another Cornelius Fudge. He didn't get accountable for his incompetence, racism, and unwillingness to cooperate tho.
@@froilanflorentino1252 Well I haven’t even played the game but judging from a few vids on here, it seems like going to him for help wasn’t even an option simply because we only follow the story of the game. We don’t know whether Phineas would have helped if given the chance, but because we are only going by assumptions of the player and other Hogwarts staff here, we will never know what he would have done given how they didn’t even try going to him in the first place.

They don’t Credit Fig entirely, Fig literally just died so the characters are being thankful of him and saying nice things about him to respect him cause he just died.

Black was incompetent he only took the job because of the prestige it carried and hated having to get involved with anything so delegated every duty to other people, i bet 90% of the time black was headmaster was spent with him kissing up to the minister in hopes he could become minister of magic one day
Why is it that Headmaster Professor Black is such a huge prick to everyone? It's just so unnecessary of him to do. It couldn't just be because he's a Pure-Blood could it? Since I've seen him treat both the Muggles, Mud-Bloods, and Pure-Bloods in the same curt manner. I can count the number of people that I have seen him treat nicely on one hand.
Yeah he is known as the least popular Hogwarts headmaster. He didn't really like young people very much. It's not really depicted in the films, but he does play an important role in the defeat of Voldemort. Like all past headmasters, his portrait hangs in the headmaster's office. There was another one of him at the Black residence at Grimmauld place. When Harry and friends visited there in Deathly Hallows, they grabbed his portrait and Hermione kept it with her in her charmed bag so he couldn't report to headmaster Snape that they were there. They did reluctantly use that portrait to gain some info on the goings on at Hogwarts, and he was the one that reported to Snape where the group was camping enabling him to bring them the sword of Godric Gryffindor.
