I know this is an old vid but man i am so thankful for it man! Ive been trying to get my 2j to start for the last couple days, been through so many websites, forums etc all with the same diagrams which wouldnt run my motor! Finally watched your vid, ran power to the black and white wire on gray plug and boom shes all go. No idea why but all the wiring diagrams i found didnt have that wire requiring power.
Youre a legend and time saver. Exactly what im looking for. Someone with personal experience. Subbed and Thank You so much for a simple video. Hope to see more!
@@im469too any history on getting ecu to work without the stock key. 92 supra 2jzge swapped and never completed. I bought this thing and intend to get it running first. Not as a daily, moreso a checkpoint. I want to know this motor and its schematics to a tee. Any insight in direction of research or first hand knowledge would me much appreciated!
@@matthewmcbeth4099 from what I’ve heard of the ecm has an immobilizer and you don’t have the lock cyl or key it won’t start or run. I suggest getting a non-immobilizer ecm to make life easy for you
Great video Thankyou! The power too the 5 wires, where are you bringing that in from? IG SW would come from the ignition barrel and I’d assume the others would come off the battery through a relay in the fuse box too the ECU?
My buddy put a 2jz into his mr2, i had to pay a guy in Russia €150 for immo off solution, luckily the conflict disabled all means of paying him, i have the immo off files if you want them, great video, goodluck.
Interesting video Once immobiliser is wired up and if battery is disconnected will you still have to wait for immobiliser to reset. The 52 plate i have here once battery is reconnected you’ve got to wait several minutes with ignition on for immobiliser to reprogram its self.
Hi! Thankyou for that information. I'm going to swap my Lexus IS 200, with a 2jzge engine, 2jzge ecu and all the wirings from 2jzge. All of them from a Lexus gs300. To run the engin can I do the same as in the video?
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I’m certain the power and grounds should still carry the same color. As far as the ecu pin out I’m not familiar with the gs300
@@im469too Lot's of thanks. It's ok. I try to do what you explain, but when I try to turn my key on, nothing happens. I think that ecu is not communicate with key. I need to investigate too much
Hey man interesting video, i got a gs 300 with the 2jz engine, it was working fine and one day suddenly the security light came on. I called several mechanics and key programers but no one can get to help me. What would you suggest how can i bypass the immobilizer?
I would suggest getting a plug if at possible. If powers get grounded or grounds get power it can fry your ecm and cause runability issues. But yes they do directly into ecm. And technically you could wire it that way. But super sketchy
Hey man quick question I have a 2jz ln106 and I'm looking at removing the original interior/dash loom that use to hook up with the old 2.4 motor as it's just a bunch of loose wiring and plugs that I dont need. Do you know how I can safely remove the wiring? I cant find any info to help me
1st off sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Technical difficulties. 2nd if your doing a relay board and after market gauges your safe to remove all that dash wiring aside from heater controls and radio
Could you help I followed all the wiring tips, but I have no injector pulse? Any ideas to help start the engine on the stand. I have spark, engine will fire with starting fluid
@@damienjamila4141 the ecm sends ground to each injector individually wiring wise since it has spark I assume the cam/crank sensor ok. Maybe the ecm is bad??
@@im469too ahhh i just looked at my 1jzgte vvti ecu and my immoblizier connector is grey and the wire colors are completely different so i dont think tbey are the same
hi matt . many thanks for this use full info , I just start my 2jz in the Datsun .only one problem no reving.only after has way pedal.if u no some thing about this . many thanks salem
On the F60 plug #7 +bm needs 12 volts. It’s for the ETCS. Hook that up and clear codes cause it’ll be in limp mode. I also suggest hooking up your obd port to pull codes it can life a lot easier trying to diagnose problems.
Some cars didn’t come with a immobilizer. Those are the most desired ecu from what people have told me. You don’t have to have the key and ignition cylinder which is less work and/or less to go wrong
migueloco 03 I’m not sure if the ecu will recognize the immobilizer from a different car. I never tried it before. If it does work can you let me know I’m curious
Ok so let's say I so everything you just did. Ideally we would want to protect the ECU from a power surge. How did your final wiring look like? Did you do battery - fuse - ecu ?
Does it have proper fuel pressure? I assume the maf is plugged in. Also make sure pin +bm on f60 plug has ignition switch power. That is for the etcs if yours has thar
Real helpful video! got it all wired up and it idles real high after warm up and 80% of throttle in not responding. tried swapping throttle body and ecu. made no difference.Any ideas what it could be?
@@MrKkpain the 80% throttle problem is it’s in limp mode. The high idle I’m not sure about. I did hook up more wires to power after the video. I’ll look tonight for sure I didn’t forget about you just been working way too much
Ok on the F60 plug 1- batt - 25amp constant 12v 7 - +bm - 15amp constant 12v - (ETCS) 8 - +b2 - key on 12v 9 - IGSW key on 12v 10 - MREL key on 12v 16 - +B key on 12v I know #7 is will help you Here is the page I use to reference. Sorry my phone died and I couldn’t get on my page. Anyhow if you scroll down to the happy birthdays question I have put all of the information there that I missed in the video
Having a no start condition on my 2001 is300. No fuel no spark but pump works on a direct. Coil pack has 12v. I have another ecu from another 2jzge but no key. What do you think is the best solution
Sorry for the delay. If you have a Noid light or a test light see if the computer is sending ground to the injectors. If no then pin test from ecu to coils/injectors. Should be easy with my harness video
@@im469too will check in the morning. Also want to add I have error in communication from ecu. It reads for like a brief 2minutes and then pops up error. I tried 3 different scanners.
@@im469too hey. No luck with my troubleshooting. Tried your method on this video. It cranks and it sounds like it sputters but won't keep the idle. Like it wants to start but won't.
It really depends on the application you’re doing the with truck. Is it 4wd ? 2wd ? Are you racing it or street driving. Tire size and transmission also factor into it

Surely if the key sends a signal to the small box under ignition then the box would only send the signal to ecu via a wire otherwise that would render the box under the ignition useless, so you should be able to bypass that box under the ignition (before the box itself) with the factory wires and the car would start without it? This is just a theory and based off the fact that I've seen of many immobilized toyotas be stolen without the key in last few years alone I'm guessing this theory might be correct. It could work or I could just be too baked idk..😂
I’m not sure to be honest. If I ever have to opportunity to test this theory I surely will. Or if you find out more I’d love to know. I get lots of folks asking about this.
Some Jap imports have no immobilizer, also India, I had a mitsubishi l200 with random immo problem, sometimes non starter, I got a file from l200 in India, no immo, no DPF, flashed eeprom and flash file to my ECU, removed immobox and car started, had to delete DPF though
