How would a Yautja Fight? 

I love how you stated that "no human should have any chance against a Yautja no matter how strong they are" as I 100% agree. Both films and comics tell the audience that Predators are some of the if not THE greatest hunters in the galaxy and yet no form of media has ever proved this point to me. Plus based off some of the feats they are capable of I find it laughable that they even consider humans worthy prey. But I digress and am excited to hear your story!

When Machiko saw Dachande fight, she said it was like a choreographed dance but it was the most brutal and most complex fighting style compared to fighting styles from Earth.

With regards to "toying with their prey", we actually learn a bit more about this in the audio tapes of the video game "Predator: Hunting Grounds." In the audio tapes from both the OWLF and from Dutch himself (voiced by a returning Arnold Schwarzenegger himself), we hear about a time when Dutch encountered a FEMALE Predator, and she fought COMPLETELY differently than the male Predators/Yautja. "She was smarter, and deadlier. She didn't fuck around like the males did. She was direct, ruthless, and skilled." Female Yautja do NOT toy with their quarry and instead try to make the kill as quickly as possible. And when you look at female Yautja in Predator lore, this actually makes complete sense: They can't afford to waste time toying with their quarry because they have much more important things to worry about, which primarily include RUNNING Predator society.

love your channel and I agree with your takes. I can forgive Prey because the Yautja wasn't trying to kill her, he never saw her as a threat, and he was focused on other targets. By the time he was truly focused on her, she had set up traps, studied him, and shot him in the back of the head. Without this set up, there's no way in hell she would win. I love your analysis did. There are cases where we see predators fight in novelizations, in one avp book a tracher Yautja lets the teenage predators relive their aggression by engaging in a fight that uses grappling and striking to beat your opponent and it is stated in the book to be much diffirent from an actual fight between Yautja which i beleive is called a Death claw fight where id imagine they would use their claws to evicerate each other, though i cant see them using their mandibles to really bite anything since the small appendages would more serve a diffirent purpose such as intimidation or help keep their mouths moist and the clicking so id imagine they would want to risk breaking one on a bite

The ankle claws might also be used to cut or help pin opponents during wrestling combat.

Great video by the way about the dreadlock section, the spiked tailed predator used his dreadlocks as a weapon. His were long and he formed a spiked club at the end. I used to have this neca figure, he was an interesting bad blood yautja.

The yautia’s superhuman capabilities should allow it to be able to perform those kind of rapid, brutal, and animalistic attacks. And I can agree that their fighting style(s) should be more unique and more alien. But if I remember correctly sone parts of the lore in the franchise. They do point out that yautia impacted human race in many ways. Such as teaching humans how to develop architectural skills. Maybe the humans in the yautia universe observed and adopted fighting style(/) similar to theirs. I also feel if they used the kind of fighting style you’re proposing would interfere their ability to masterful hunters. Cause if they allowed themselves to be consumed with heir desire to kill their prey and claim trophies. Then they leave themselves open to attack from their preys allies and friends(assuming their prey are humans or very human like). It just doesn’t seem to fit a hunter’s mentality to me l. If you’re strictly talking about a fighting scenario then I agree, utilizing more of their anatomy is a must. The dreadlocks was especially interesting to me, I never thought about that possibility until you brought it up. Even if the dreads didn’t sting they would a very viable way to distract their opponents. Anyway I agree that writers or movie producers in the future should have the yautia utilize their superhuman capabilities a lot more. One predator fight you could have used here is the one between the Enforcer and Bad Blood from the comic. Here the yautja use both weaponry and get physical on each other

I think if yautja were real then they would either stick to how they always fight or: study human fighting styles and improve them if they can since they are an intelligent speicies

I want to read your planned ending, so please hurry! :-) On the topic of believable fighting, my feeling is that real fans, experts of the lore, such as yourself, know MUCH more than the 'get-the-asses-in-the-seats' Hollywood crowd about what makes for a sensible, workable story. But the movies aren't being made by diehard fans...:-/

Given Yautja have visited Earth since Prehistoric days (evidence being Triceratops Skull in Trophy Room in AVPR), I think the Yautja would be smart enough to pick up on their prey's fighting styles, not only to adapt and improve their own combat techniques, but also out of respect for their worthy prey.

I think they are intelligent enough not to fight like an ape. Like us, they would understand the benefits of leverage and precision. Them just beating something like an angry gorilla is pretty cool too though.

I think beside biology, a fighting style is develop by your environment, and the culture. Predator civilisation in the lore tend to prioritize their culture, the hunts, respects and honor. Sure a wild uneducated primitif predator should fight like that. But it's different from someone who learn to fight differently. Also I will point out that, every predator got different weapons, meaning a diversity in the fighting technics. In AVP 1, the scene at the end illustrate their capability, while a spinning 360 no scope spear impal was done on the xenomorph queen in the air. To continue on fighting style, if you can fight a certain way, doesn't mean u'll fight a certain way. This is why almost every country or cultures got their own way with a sword, because their cultures, environment and more affect their fighting style. I will finish with Predator aren't primitived, meaning they don't need to fight like certain animals and be more calculated. Like female predators who are way deadlier

Okay so I have to say it's a bit of both lazy writing and effects as to why they can't properly show a fighting style for the Yautja however the comics and the video games show that they do have martial arts and probably as many as we have , in the game AVP Extinction for the disc master class it says they have a fighting style Called "Death" so one could assume that with the different classes and variations to their species they probably have multiple styles, and outside of plot armor I think the reason they don't use that martial arts is probably because they feel they don't need them, like for them martial arts is more of a situational thing or maybe even a part of their honor codes and rituals, also I imagine if there was going to be yautja that were martial arts heavy it would probably be the females of their species has most of the time when you see females they usually have melee weapons on them, and so far AVP from the snes and the arcade and MK 10 shows what some of they're fighting style would actually look like
